Yes that 80% of the trollers loathe States now.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Most of the trollers I heard post already loathed him. :-)

Well, as a MC, it looks like a got a decent boost, even with the AoE hold nerfing. I went online and was surprised by the double damage (didn't understand what was making it happen). I have enough AoE holds so that I was able to keep the enemy reasonably well locked down, and now I can actually killed them off and not fall asleep.

I can see how other trollers would be mad, though, with the pet nerf. I'll have to get my fire troller up to level 32 to see how she plays.

There's no immediate deadline for changes Archetype wide, though individual power sets might need attention sooner. I just wanted to say that nothing at the moment is set in stone.

And, six months later, welcome to the Blastroller. Funny, how things change.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I just came back today, after a 6 month hiatus.

What changes have been made to controllers, espcially MC?

I left after being tired of being frustrated.
So can MCs solo yet? I've got a level 43 that's been sitting idle for some time that I'd LIKE to be able to use.

So if you're on a kill X mission and you're 200 feet away from an enemy that somebody on your team has defeated, you don't get credit?

    [/ QUOTE ]

No - that isn't what I said. As long as either YOU or YOUR teammate is within 200 ft., you'll get credit for the defeat.

    [/ QUOTE ]

But that is what you said. You made no such distinction in your original post:
    [ QUOTE ]

If a player is in a zone, did NO damage in a combat and has dead for more than a minute, he receives no XP. If a player is more than 300 ft. away (an increase of 100 ft.) from the mob when it’s defeated and did NO damage, he receives no XP. Otherwise, the player receives his full share of XP.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The implication is that if you do no damage, or are too far away, you get nothing. If that's not what you mean, than you should be more clear about it.
  4. [ QUOTE ]
Based on data from the Training Room and feedback on the forums, we will be making the following changes to how XP, Influence and other drops are divided:

If a player is in a zone, did NO damage in a combat and has dead for more than a minute, he receives no XP. If a player is more than 300 ft. away (an increase of 100 ft.) from the mob when it’s defeated and did NO damage, he receives no XP. Otherwise, the player receives his full share of XP.

If players are on a mission map, they always receive their full shares. There’s no distance limitation. Teams can split up in maps – players can be separated by elevators – everyone receives their XP.

This system does not affect Mission rewards.

We’ll be putting the distance and mission map changes up on the Training Room soon (week or so) to see how it plays out.

Now, let me clarify the situation with Badges and Defeat tasks. As long as you or any of your teammates are within 200 ft. of the defeated mob, EVERYONE on the team gets credit. This is not a change in Issue 4; this is the way that it currently works.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Are you talking no damage on a per creature basis? I'm a mind controller, I don't do much damage. I've been told forever that that is the way it is supposed to be, but that i'm to team up with peope and act as support. So now if I fulfill THAT role, I get nothing?

Can you please explain what my role is to be?
  5. [ QUOTE ]
    Yeah, Gravity.
That's the one that really needs lookin at.

It's pretty crazy some of the things I've seen MindControl do. ...It's nothing that's in real demmand, but it makes the crowd control that my Illusion controller and Storm defender have look pathetic. If they had some real damage too they'd probably be able to handle a few too many situations a little too well. So I wouldn't worry about Mind again quite yet.

But Gravity, I don't think it's even capeable of that level of control and the activation times don't help either. But changing them could take too long like it took for Martial Arts and Katana. Do something quicker like changing some of their minor DoT's to moderate DoT's and make some of those immobilizing powers debuff resistance to smashing damage and call it good.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Because you don't play one.

You are alos laboring under the delusion that only one of them can be fixed.

I run with my friends grav, and his crowd control is easily as good as mine, and he does more damage with his pets. Now, his damage is nothing compared to what fire imps can do. Now, let me be clear, I do NOT want to gimp fire or anyone else. I think grav needs a boost. But I KNOW my mind controller needs a boost.

But we don't play the game to honor some mystical "vision" that they may or may not have. We play to have fun. The devs are in BUSINESS. The most successful businesses are ones that are responsive to their customer base, and that have a customer base that gives constructive feedback, not idol worship and sycophantry.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ya know you wouldn't even have a game to play if it weren't for the "vision" you mention... The superhero genre game has been something MANY companies have talked about and promised and never delivered... Cryptic finally gives us something the superhero fan can enjoy and love and from the sheer amount of direct involvement from the devs it's obvious to me that these people are also comic fans and interested in providing a game that is enjoyable...

    [/ QUOTE ]

Then I would play something else.

And yuo sem to have me confused wtih something else. I 'm ASKING for chance.
  7. [ QUOTE ]
As one with a 38 Controller I think you all need to CHILL and let the devs do their job...

All I hear is selfish whining. The big picture is what counts and the devs can see that much better than you or I can.

And for you pure gamers out there... remember... The GM sets the rules and runs the world as s/he thinks they should go. If you don't like it that much, you can quit. There will be more players...

Thank you devs for all your work on a fabulous game!!

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'm sick and tired of posts like this one.

The devs are people, just like us. They don't have any magic, or any super-special insight that no one else has.

    Is the game great? Sure.

But we don't play the game to honor some mystical "vision" that they may or may not have. We play to have fun. The devs are in BUSINESS. The most successful businesses are ones that are responsive to their customer base, and that have a customer base that gives constructive feedback, not idol worship and sycophantry.

I'm certainly willing to sit back, not freak, and give the devs the chance to DO THEIR JOBS. If they do a good job, I will be the first one to come here and sing their praises. But if they don't, I'll be here, as a paying customer, expressing my discontent, and hoping that they fix the "fix"; at least on that they have a decent track record.

Oh great here comes the nerf bat. Boost the other controllers up, im fine with that. I am just tired of all this extreme nerfing. Yes i am a fire controller, yes i even think they could be looked at. The only thing that needs to be looked at is there HP. They have more than the stone pets and those are suppose to be a tanker class pets. Kaosu is my fav character and really the only one i enjoy playing on. I sure hope it doesnt get ruined. They have already been nerfed twice as i know of, what else can you do to them?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well, I hope they do NOT nerf you. I'm a mind contrller. A poor schlep mind controller. My first toon. I'm frsutrated as hell, and really in awe at what fire controllers can do. I wish I could do half te damage you do.

I just don't want to get there by the devs reducing your damage!!!!!!!!

Most of the suggestions for mind controllers (conspicuously given by ppl that don't have on) amounted to "improve this, but weaken that", which of course, is a net ZERO. I don't know why the world wants us to suck.

Thanks to everyone who did ask for help for us.

I'm crossing my fingers that the devs finda way to help me, and NOT hurt other controllers.

Just think of The Hollows as the tutorial on XP debt

XP debt is not as big of a deal as it seams, and The Hollows will get you used to it.

I went down like 4 times last night with a level 6 tanker in the hollows, and you know what? I ended the night without any debt at all.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Nice. Try that same feat with a lvl 15. You'll feel differently.
  10. [ QUOTE ]

I mean, its all either new subscribers who we dont want around anyway, or folks interested in trying a new AT out, who should be back playing their main toon and only their main toon.

    [/ QUOTE ]

We dont want new people playing the game? What the hell kind of attitude is that?

Secondly, I HAVE been playing my primary heroes. I have a lvl 15 defender and a lvl 15 controller, and both have them have gotten their assess kicked soloing, in a duo, and in 3 differnt groups as large as 6 people in the 3rd hollows mission. The game has become ridiculously hard.

Not everyone is a jobless high-school kid with endless amounts of time to game. The game was just right before, and it is now so hard that my wife and I don't enjoy it anymore. Maybe you don't care, but then, fortunately, you are not in business, because an attitude like yours would be a disaster for any company.
