I just bugged this in-game, but was wondering if anyone else had experienced this. I logged into my Empathy Defender and saw the normal global channel messages of the day, saw one guy say something in one channel, and then all global chat stopped. I was unable to see any messages sent to or from global handles (Sending to local names worked fine, though). I checked if I was hidden -- I wasn't. I tried hiding and then unhiding, but that did nothing.

Quote:Alright, thanks. Seems mathematically equivalent to what I said, just a lot clearer.The best way to think about it is that Hasten (and all powers) recover 1 point per second. Hasten needs 450 points to recharge.
Recharge buffs change the number of points you accumulate every second, so with hasten active, you get 1.7 points back per second for each power that's recharging.
So, click Hasten. For the next 120 seconds you accumulate 120*1.7 = 204 points
You still need another 246 points for Hasten to recharge, and will have to wait 246 seconds for them to accumulate at 1 point per second.
So the total recharge time will be 120 + 246 = 336 seconds. -
Say you have no global recharge and you activate Hasten (no slots in it, to simplify it further). According to Mids', while Hasten is active it has a 264.7 second recharge in the above case. Since the duration of Hasten is only 120 seconds, the recharge goes back to the base, 450 second. So, what will the actual recharge be?
If I had to guess, it would work something like this: Take the percentage of the recharge completed at the time Hasten deactivates (120/264.7 is ~45.3%). Now multiply the new recharge time by (1 - 0.453), and that will be the remaining time on the recharge timer. Is that how it work? -
Yes indeedy. 13.333 (repeating) defense to all, ~20.748% slotted.

Hey guys. I hope you're gearing up for Saturday. I'd like to do the second part of Positron and, if there is time, Synapse. I'd love to see how Dr. Vahzilok and Clockwork King stand up to all of our Sonic blasts.

To be honest, I mostly went for the Fire/Cold/Energy/Neg. Energy Defense because I already had a decent amount to begin with (Heightened Senses + Weave was about 23%, I think). I'll see what I can do about rolling up a S/L soft-capped build. In the pursuit of the S/L soft-cap, how important would it be to maintain the E/N/F/C soft-cap? My guess (hope?) would be, "Not very." I have the Numina unique in Rise to the Challenge for the set bonus. The only time it might go down is in I get mezzed, right?
Oh, and I'd love to look at some other builds if you've got 'em.
Edit: I've got a build with 47.5% S/L, 31.4% E/N, 26.4% F/C. It also has an extra 12.5% bonus to recharge and regenerates about 8 more HP/sec. Unfortunately, the cost of the build also jumped astronomically. Here it is:

I'm not planning anything grandiose with this Brute, I just want it to be tough enough to make it on a decent team. It's soft-capped in Fire, Cold, Energy and Negative Energy. I didn't focus on Smashing/Lethal because I have a decent amount of resistance there. One thing I was wondering about is that I had to drop some extra +HP and +Regeneration to get the last couple percent of Energy/Neg. Energy defense (I think they were at 42% with the extra +HP and +Regeneration).

Completely off-topic, but: Horus, the quote in your sig is actually from John Basil Barnhill.

I'm currently looking at a Corruptor for my first PvP toon. The ones I'm mainly looking at are a (Dark or Sonic)/Radiation/Leviathan and Radiation/Dark/Leviathan. So far, I've only done Kickball matches in the Arena, so I guess the toon is for team PvP. I'd also like it to be okay at dueling, if possible. Additionally, what should I have in mind when creating builds for these toons?
Thanks for any advice. -
I know that Hasten is a bit overslotted, but that for extra recharge to make it perma. It's the cheapest way to squeeze out a little extra, and I figured I had the two extra slots anyways.
As far as the Carrion Creeper slotting goes, that's part of why I'm here. -
I'm thinking about making another attempt at a Dominator. For now, I've got my eyes on a Plant/Fire/Leviathan. I plan to mainly use Incinerate, Fire Blast and Blaze for single-target damage, with Flares to fill in the holes. Fire Breath for AoE damage, after they've clumped up from Seeds of Confusion. Carrion Creepers was a lot easier to make perma than I had expected, but I wasn't really sure how to slot it. Is it worth slotting damage in? How do procs work in it (do they get a chance with each attack, or once every ten seconds)? Does it need an accuracy enhancement?
Thanks for advice/insight.
Here is my build at the moment:

... Rage were changed to Build Up? This is purely hypothetical, but Rage is a huge reason why I continue to roll Super Strength characters rather than other melee sets. Would the set be underpowered if it lost Rage?
-
Just finished our first session. The team consisted of myself, @Panzerwaffen, @Myrmdon and @Smurphy. Panzerwaffen and I were at 12, Myrmydon at 1 and Smurphy decided to roll a new toon after two missions. We kept runnin' missions 'til Smurphy's toon hit 10, then we did the first half of Positron. I ended up at level 19, Panzerwaffen at 18, Myrmydon at 15 and Smurphy at 13. Fun was had by all, I think. We're running again tomorrow afternoon, 'round 4:30p.m. EST. If anyone else can make it, that'd be great.

Or like this: *shows picture of Elk Stalker*

As far as slotting, I would echo the others in saying that you should slot fairly heavily for recharge. My build on Live has about 93%, but still lacks 20% from purple sets (He's 48). Minus the Luck of the Gambler +Recharge pieces (I have three), it has cost about 350 million influence. So it doesn't cost an insane amount of influence to get high levels of recharge with Warshades (Especially if you save up merits for the Luck of the Gambler pieces); my 'Shade is several seconds shy of perma-Hasten at the moment (and perma-Eclipse). He'll have it in two more levels.
-
Right now, I tend to grab my Warshade or my lowbie Empathy/Sonic Defender.
-
Quote:With Smurphy's dual-box toon, we have eight; I'll see if he doesn't mind playing just one toon like us normal folk.Any room left on this? I've always wanted to try an all-Empathy team...
Edit: Actually, @GATTACA just gave up his spot. I'll update the roster; what's your global? -
Alright, let's give Saturday night a shot, around 8 p.m. EST.
-
Quote:So far, it has been spontaneous. Right now, I'm helping everyone get their Empaths to 12 in order to skip the painful, Fortitude-less levels. In related news, I'd like to see when everyone can play on the team. Scheduling times seems like it might be more effective. I'm free pretty much any time except early morning, so just let me know.If Silas was dead he would roll over in his grave, however, I might be willing to work with this Emp idea (even moreso if we could add in the other side's options later). Is this going to be a static team as well as an SG setup and when would we run it?
The current people I have are:
Myself (@Demon Keeper),
@Smurphy (will be dual-boxing),
@Mebs,
@MILLION / @MILLIONDOLLAR,
@iBud,
@Myrmydon,
@Panzerwaffen.
You guys are encouraged to send each other global friend invites in case you'd like to team up without me (I won't be offended, I promise). -
-
Hm. Indeed. *scratches chin in thought-provoking manner*
-
He still posts and even plays on occasion, Ash.

Like I said in the original post, the team only needs three Empaths to be potent, so there will be five open slots. An extra three Pain Doms would be quite interesting to have, though, because, as Silas said, they would give us about 50% more resistance to everything (I think, I'm not very informed on Pain Domination) and another ~50% damage buff. To be able to team, though, we'd have to wait until the co-op zones or until Going Rogue.
Edit: It would take five Pain Corruptors to cap us to everything with just World of Pain. Four would put us ~5% shy of the cap. I just checked Mids'. Also, I didn't realize that you'd have to go for outside +Recharge to get World of Pain perma. Looks like you need ~75% persistent +Recharge to keep World of Pain perma. A bit off-putting for me, personally. -
Feel like I've known you my whole life, broski-oski. I hope your birthday is full of fun and adventure.
