  1. I'm absolutely positive I saw a mention about the new Hami Trial being on a 24 hour timer, not the reward. On the other hand, my searchfu with my dialup prevents me from finding it (it'd take me several hours...no kidding, REALLY bad dialup here at work).

That said, if the LRSF is on an HO timer (new info to me, thanks), I can't deny the possibility that the StatesTF will be the same. I did say my stuff about the StatesTF was speculation. Who knows? They may change both, or neither. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

We wanted there to be a reason to have Archetypes other than Blasters and Defenders on your team. Controllers will find themselves greatly desired in the final battle if the team wants to have any chance of winning.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I don't quite see how they can say they learned something and then say this. Having a certain AT be required, which is basically what this says, is no better than having one or more be marginalized.

At best this needs to be clarified.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Last I knew "greatly desired" and "needed" meant two different things. It's helpful if you don't read things in that aren't there.

you know what my ice/fire dom adds to the LRSF? moderate damage... Why choose him over a corrupter?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Because you want to do it? You just need a team not stuck in "optimal only!!!!" mode.
  4. [ QUOTE ]
Please tell me that the flier is on the heroes side, as it seems to be shooting LR or the guy LR is attacking...

    [/ QUOTE ]

Looks to me like it's shooting at the guy with the mech wings right behind Ol' Spiderpuss.
  5. I keep seeing people posting about having done LRSF with OTHER than the old "optimal" grouping. It probably does need to be fixed, but the whole "you can't do it without these ATs!" thing has been shown to be baloney. It's just HARDER, that's all.

I think both sides will have the 1 HO per day limit.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Technical correction: I believe it's "you can only do the Hami Trial once every 24 hours" not "one HO a day". So if you don't get an HO out of it, you still can't go again until tomorrow. However, if the StatesTF also offers HOs, I'm pretty sure you can do that even if you've done the Hami Trial that day (StatesTF stuff is merely speculation, though).
  7. Wears on a guy, y'know?

    Two years...sheesh, I wouldn't last two days...
  8. Correct. Sadly, Cosmic Titan has become Leader Emeritus. He's still around, just doesn't have time for the day to day administration any more. He is being succeeded by Last Gunslinger, a long time member and officer. Still the same great friendly and active bunch it was before though, operating on the system we have been, so we anticipate no changes there. The Legion's traditions won't die with CTs retirement, rest assured!
  9. Ha! Excellent!

Wish I'd have been able to get better close-ups for mine. They're awfully shaky 'cause I had to increase the size, but it was the best I had to work with.
  10. Updated with a couple more.
  11. Oh, yeah, definitely. That's planned for when I actually make my site up. Each one will have it's own page with the actual mission report on it. This is just a quick temp just for the pics.
  12. Threw up a quick and dirty page to show off some of the screenshot work I've been doing, mostly pictures to accompany my Legion of Valor mission reports.

    Mission Reports

    Feedback welcome, of course.

Man, I've got to find some time to work on my site...
  13. I'm a K.I.S.S. principle kinda guy, so I choose the fourth one.

All righty then. I really liked all of them, but especially #7 RAVE.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Thankee! I kinda think that one has some good POP myself.

    [ QUOTE ]
BTW what program are you using for the cover format. In other words how can I do this too?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Somewhat hand-made. I use Paint Shop Pro for my graphics, although most use Adobe Photoshop (never cared for it...counterintuitive controls, at least the old version I tested out). The logo I made from scratch. Most of the trade dress I got from downloading an old Marvel cover, deleting everything but the trade dress and blanking some of the parts out (basically just used them for placement) and then rebuilt "by hand".

Did that with #4 for the whole thing, as that cover is an homage to Avengers Vol. 1, #16.

    Avengers #16, for comparison

LMAO He looks WAY too happy to be in those sewers! XD

    Really cute covers though.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ha! Thanks, and yeah, I agree. I never really did get the effect I was looking for. They were supposed to look like they were sneaking up on him. But, yeah, that grin face is great for a "portrait", but there's some things it really doesn't work for. For an upcoming cover, I actually went to test and changed his face to a more suitable "expression" for such occasions.

Looking good, though I really recommend that you have someone else take the screenshots for you. All your shots look like you rotated the camera around on you. Which isn't bad, but you can really get some dynamic shots if you have someone else snapping for you.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I certainly agree in principal. However, every time I've ever had anyone else take pictures in RL, I'm somewhat disappointed by their "artistic eye" (or lack thereof). I fear the same might go here. I am, however, learning as I go using demorecord/dump, so I'm getting a better choice of shots than before.
  17. I've been making comic covers for my main, Decorum (Victory server; Science Inv/EM Tanker; Legion of Valor member).

  18. Oh, great and powerful sexy Jay!

When you put a lab coat on a short chubby male, it looks like they're wearing an umbrella under their coat.

    Umbrella bod.

Nuts, I meant that to be the open coat, where it looks even more ridiculous, but you get the idea.

A few points that may assist you in the future when dealing with software and the word "soon" (that is a year and a half down the road after you've actually stopped playing, I guess)

    1) Software is always later than they say.
    2) Software is always buggier than they say.
    3) Before release, people will complain about waiting for it.
    4) After release, people will complain about the developers not waiting longer to fix all the bugs.
    5) "Soon", with respect to software releases, is a comfort word - it has no real meaning. If they don't give a specific date, then it comes when it comes. If they do give a specific date, see #1.
    6) Complaining about any of these facts will change none of them.
    7) The company is not responsible to you as an individual. You have no power. You are not a unique snowflake.
    8) Given all of the above, it's still better to hear something that may be inaccurate than nothing at all. It's better to have your opinion heard (even if it is ultimately dismissed) than not.

    and finally

    9) Claiming that 7-8 months doing the same thing is boring and repetitive and threatening to leave to WoW over it is the very definition of irony.

Yer beautiful, Tex! I was thinking very much along the same lines as I read this thread.

I'm quite surprised to find a bunch of folks with less patience and a bigger sense of entitlement than I've run into on the comic book message boards, though. I thought their howling about late issues was bad.
