    Name: T H E – Z E R G
    Leader: @Darkhold

Description: T H E – Z E R G is the oldest active SG on Triumph. We have a long history and a widespread reputation (positive too! :P). Back in the old days we were everywhere. There was, literally, no escaping us.

As the name might indicate: T H E – Z E R G is all about Strenght in Numbers. T H E – Z E R G was created with the intent of becoming the largest & most active SG out there. We would have more teams! We would have more fun! Our 7-days-Activity-Policy guaranteed we only had active and motivated members.

With the coming of gazillions of other SGs over the past two years, our goals focused on becoming a fun-orientated group. Now that goal has been long accomplished, and it’s time to spread the fun again! So we are going back to the Old Days!

T H E – Z E R G strives to be the largest resource for teammates. During the first year of COH we had 4 full SGs of members in all level ranges.
    With the coming of COV (and bases) we picked two SGs as our main ones: One for heroes (T H E – Z E R G), and one for villains (The Z E R G – S C O U R G E).

Now which side are you on?

Anyone is welcome. Just keep a few things in mind:
    - Be active
    - Be nice
    - Be respectful to others
    - Have fun
    - Bring your friends

    J O I N - T H E - R U S H !
  4. As the title says; RolePlay as if you were PvPing with the character above you.

Here are some rules, and clarifications:
    - Choose one of your characters to use in this fight
    - Before you start: state your characters powersets, AT, and “signature” powers that he or she uses in PvP.
    - A description or screenshot of your character might be nice for the next person to use (in order to RP better).
    - You decide if you win or loose.
    - You decide which location you fight at, be it an Arena-match, a Siren’s neighborhood battle , a barbrawl, stopping someone from launching a Warburg-missile, etc (or you could continue where the previous post ended).
    - It’s just 1vs1! No teammates, no SG coming too the rescue. You’re on your own .
    - Keep it as “real” as possible. So no: ‘I kept Brawling him until all his toggles were down”-stuff. But more like: “the ordinary punch in his face surprised him, and now that he lowered his guard I could strike through his defenses” …or something like that .

Because I am the first one to post, I’ll choose one of my own villains to PvP with.

The character I choose is my Main Darkhold. He’s a Dark Melee/Regen Scrapper who uses SuperSpeed, Fly (incl. Air Superiority) and Touch of Fear, a lot .
Darkhold has got a demon inside him that he learned to control and suppress. His years of fighting crime have made him an experienced streetfighter, which is reflected in the use of Leadership/Tactics. He looks like, well… just look at my Avatar .

(for this match I’ll be fighting my own villain: Crom Cruaich). Crom Cruaich is an Energy Melee/Dark Armor Brute who stealths a lot with his Cloak of Darkness.
He is a warlord from another dimension that drains the energy of every creature he kills. His armor is connected to a Netherrealm-like dimension, giving him his Dark Armor powers. He has a vast resource of energies, which he puts in his mighty Energy Melee.

    -----/RP ON-----

Warburg is a serious threat. Ever since Recluse lost control of it to a mutiny, it has been a pool of chaos. Even now that he’s gone from the island Paragon City hasn’t become any safer. But at least we now have an excuse to interfere here, Darkhold thought.

Darkhold sat crouched on a ledge, high above the ground. For a hero, many people think he looks too sinister. But that isn’t his fault: the demon inside him ravaged his body. It’s partially destroyed, revealing the green demonic energies that linger within it.
This spot was perfect for keeping an eye on the missile silo. The rogue Arachnos faction wasn’t the biggest thread. The villains were. All the scum Recluse set free did not consider, or fear the consequences of launching a nuclear missile at the US coast. Darkhold had already intercepted three today… villains, not missiles. But he was sure there would be more to…
A sudden burst of pain erupted in his back, and the next thing he saw was the ground heading towards him at a disturbing speed. He crashed, felt his bones break, but rolled over in order to take out some of the fall’s damage. As he lay on the ground, Darkhold drew on the Demonic Energies inside him to restore the damage done by the fall. He would be healed shortly… unfortunately it did not stop the pain.
He looked up to see what made him fall of the ledge. The only thing he saw was a dark blur… getting larger and closing in on the ground, on him! He rolled on his side just before the blurry creature landed on the ground, crushing the pavement where Darkhold was just laying.
‘you are fast,’ the blurry creature said. ‘I will enjoy siphoning your life essence.’ it laughed in a heavy voice. The dark blur disappeared and a tall, strong looking figure emerged. His dark blue armor was decorated with skulls, unable to tell if they were real or an artificial part of the armor. The strangers face was strangely pale blue. Hidden underneath a trimmed beard, and long hair bound in a ponytail. He was clearly of some age, but still looked very potent.
‘You won’t have anything to enjoy,’ Darkhold replied. ‘Unless you like traveling. Because you’ll be getting a one-way ticket to the hospital.’
‘Brave words, hero. Let’s see if you fight as bravely.’ The shadows around the character seemed to flow towards him. Darkness gathered around his armor. Darkhold could swear he heard a haunted moan coming from the harness. ‘Crom Cruaich is my name. Remember it when you get to the afterlife. You’ll meet many there who know it.’ ‘I’ll try remember what your face looks like. Because you won’t recognize it when I am done with you!’ Darkhold said, and he jumped on his feet.

The tall Crom Cruaich charged at him, his fists crackling with energy. Darkhold tried to avoid the first blow, but he was still shaken from the crash. The villain merely touched Darkhold, but he could feel the damaging energy rush into his body, throwing him back like a ragdoll. It took all his effort to land on his feet, and evade the next devastating attack Crom Cruaich sent after him. But the old man was faster than he looked. He rapidly followed his attacks with a barrage of two more punches, which Darkhold did not know to evade.
‘You disappoint me, hero. I had expected a better fight than that.’
‘I haven’t started yet. But I’ll sure as hell will finish it.’
‘Once again you talk better than you fight.’
‘I would do better if you’d stop hitting me. But somehow I doubt you’d do that for me.’
Darkhold blocked the next strike and punched Cruaich in the face, which clearly surprised him. The slow hesitation gave Darkhold the chance he was looking for. I drew on the Demonic Energies that occupied his body. The world seemed to slow down around him as he launched a flurry of blows on the armor of Crom Cruaich. Blow after blow landed on the villain’s armor, but he kept standing. A massive blow from the back of his armored fist sent Darkhold flying again, crashing through a store’s window. The cuts on his back closed immediately, though.
‘It seems that you do know how to fight.’ Crom Cruaich said. He looked like Darkhold’s flurry hadn’t damaged him. But Darkhold noticed a small tear in Crom’s eye. And it’s no tear of saidness: he had hit him good. He looked at the armor again. This time he noticed a small rupture where he’d just hit the villain. This might be the only chance he’d get.

‘Surrender, hero. And I’ll promise I’ll make your death quick and painless… or atleast quick.’
‘Well, this is usually the point where the good-guy says “I’ve got a better idea”. So, I’ve got a better idea. What if I’d strangle you with some dark tentacles instead.’
Darkhold focused, tapped into his demon essence and released part of it. Shadowy tentacles came out of the dark, grabbing hold of Crom Cruaich.
    ‘What the…’
‘That’s what I thought the first time.’
With his mind, Darkhold steered the tentacles into the small rupture of the armor.
    ‘NO! How did you… GAH!’
Darkhold got on his feet, jumped through the glass-less window and charged at the villain. The tentacles had made the rupture larger. Just large enough for a fist to go through. Darkhold wrapped his fist in dark, demonic energy, braced himself, and punched through the rupture.
‘ARRRGH!’ Crom Cruaich ripped himself loose from the tentacles, who disappeared into thin air. Once again he smacked Darkhold with the back of his armored glove, sending him flying into a brick wall.
*cough* ‘You really have to stop doing that!’ Darkhold got up and looked at his adversary, who was crouching on one knee. On of his fists was on the ground, keeping him stabile, while the other was grasping his chest. Right were the rupture was.
‘I guess I underestimated you… hero! Crom Cruaich gasped. ‘I’ll be ready for you when I decide to face you again!’
‘Face me again? You just said you’d underestimated me! By facing me again, you would underestimate me again

Crom Cruaich threw one more angry look at Darkhold. Then a dark void surrounded him, in which he vanished without a trace. Darkhold got up, dusted himself off and stretched out. Let’s find another ledge and keep guard, he thought. One with less space behind me.

    Description: As the names says, T H E - Z E R G - S C O U R G E is all about Power In Numbers.
T H E - Z E R G was created with the intention of being very large & very active! We would have more teams, we would have more fun.

T H E - Z E R G strifes to have an enormous resource for getting/making teams via the supergroup channel, and now our Global Channel.
We are already at 40 members. Anyone is welcome, but remember to stay active and mature. We will soon be raising the limit to level ten, to assure we will get active players.

Once we are full, we will maintain a 7-days-inactivity-policy: If you have not been playing for over 7 days (without leaving a Leave of Absence) you will be removed to make place for active players. Though we hardly ever need to remove it . Although, now that we are evil, we might be starting to remove people merely out of fun :P

ur #1 enemy untill today remains remains the 75 player cap on SG's.
  6. Some more that may or may not have been posted. But i don't have time to read through the entire topic now. So forgive me if i missed it .

These are a few I posted at the forum of my SG:

Ack!: "I just got killed by that second mob our stupid [insert AT] aggroed while the rest of our team was still getting buffed/fighting the previous mob/typing 'ack!' from the previous encounter."

AFK: Feeding the baby / my boss walked by / rescueing my store / Shouting at the wife / walking the dog.

Aggro: Good for Tankers, bad for blasters, field day for Trollers, overtime for Defenders, ignored by Scrappers.

Alt: Alternative character. Not the one you use the often, but one of the many other ones. See 'Main'.

Altitis: Severe case of having all your serverslots filled with characters.

Bridge: the character between the PL-ing Hero and the PLed n00b. Usually a difference of 7 or 8 levels below the PL-ing hero. Also 'Middle-bie'.

Bug: Small critters who bite you in your sleep or sting you with their poisonous fangs. Really scary if they'd been 10 times bigger. Annoying at their present size.

Bug II: Small flaws in the game, usually unnoticed by the Dev Team. Really scary if they'd been 10 times bigger. Annoying at their present size.

    CoH: City of Heroes: DUH!

CoV: City of Villains, guess you didn't see that one coming.

Char: Character, avatar. The Hero which you are playing.

MT: Mis Tell: uses when you typed a message in the wrong chatwindow.

Nerf!: the local language spoken at the COH Boards.

OMW: "I'll be there after i refilled Insps / lvled / restocked my Enhancements / respeced my Alt / all of the above."

PvE: Player versus Enemy. AKA Human vs AI

PvP: Player versus Player. AKA Unhuman Brutality vs Unhuman Brutality.

RTM: "You might find the obvious answer to that unnecessary question in the rather accessible manual."

    SG: Supergroup

    SK: Sidekick
