True, to each his own, you want to be a "pure" Empath, go for it, just don't expect me to keep you on a team for long.
(That said in lower levels going empathy heavy makes sense even in my book)

Not to contraddict you (well ... yes, to contraddict you ), but pure empaths always find easily a team, unlike other ATs or build (usually pure healers choose also useful pool powers: teleport, leadership, hasten...). Anyway, everyone is free to set his toons how he wants.

I agree 100%. Many SG will shut down, as after a while people hit 50 or leave the game and there's alsmost a structural limit = or every character in the SG plays every night for hours or you won't have the prestige. This is frustrating and annoying. SGs should be incouraged, not killed.

You nca solo with an empath defender, but you'll be damn SLOW (and bored probably, as being a healer if funny as you work in team). As someone else said, a troller would be maybe funnier to play solo, but still not fast at all.... I have an earth/empathy, and I get rarely killed when I solo, but killing mobds with just holds requires a lot of time
