The motherboard has one PCIe/16 slot and 2 PCI slots.
2 Gig Ram - From Dell... that'll be A$100 plus delivery.
Video card: ATI HD5750 PCI-E 2.0 1GB from one different supplier - A$200
and then the power supply... 650W power supply ... A$180 plus delivery
... so I got some saving to do and some bargin hunting to do.
(650W is to allow for the burner I'll eventually add and better regulation of regional power) -
Having waded through the upteen pages here, I'm more confused then ever.
Here's my situation:
My old computer:
Windows XP3
AMD 64 Processor 3500+ running at 2.21GHz (Single Core)
2 GB Ram
nVida GeForce 8500 GT
However the power supply in the computer is in the process of dieing.
Hence I recently got the opportunity to get a Dell Optiplex 360 while over in USA and bring it back to Australia. These sell for about $1300 over here, and I got it much cheaper.
It was going to be my gaming computer, but came in a sealed box and I couldn't check the contents. When I got home, I found it contained:
Win 7 Professional
Intel Core 2 Duo E7500 with VT (2.93GHz Dual Core)
2 GB Ram
Integrated Video Intel GMA3100
255W Power Supply
So my question is this, In order to even play Going Rogue or CoH/V: Do I sell the Optiplex and try to save for a better computer, or do I upgrade it? If I upgrade it, what gets priority? I know the power supply will needs attention if I get a card. -
I sometimes have to connect via 'wireless' modem... which is a glorified mobile phone. And it runs at roughly dial-up speeds. Haven't had to do that in a while but may have to real soon. When I did, I can't go anywhere near Wentworths or any similar data intense areas.
I live in regional Australia, so when I'm not on the wireless modem I'm on a very slow ADSL link. Trust me... the network coverage out here and the speeds are lousy. -

I could have sworn I left a description... oh well. That was a busy weekend with double xp, a BBQ, a function, and other miscellaneous odds and ends. I knew I was coming into the thread late. I was going to get to updating the post but then I got sick and that was the end of that. Oh well... next time.

It all comes down to a culture clash.
The North American forums basically had the forums and the game as different but linked universes. They had the same sort of things happening, the similar background and history, but events in one did not necessarily correlate to the other. *BIG* events were identical (basically the cannon events like Statesman drinking from the Well of Furies) but little events might not be (my character ordering orange juice instead of a vodka cruiser in a bar)
The European forums basically had the forums and the game as being one and the same. Events in game spilled into the forums and vise versa.
Now that we all have the one pool to play in, there is confusion and tension.
My vote: Three verses: American servers, Forum, European servers. Keep everything separate. Disclaimer: This is the easiest for me, as I am already following this, my forum characters are mere reflections of the characters on the American servers and are completely separate. What affects one does not affect the other. -

Uhm, I'm quite new to CoX roleplaying, and MMORPG roleplaying in general, but I experience this merge confusing. For example, Deaths Row RP. I was away for a week, and the boards got merged in the meantime. I got back and I was excited to read what had been going on since I was away and whooaaah!
The point what I am after is that if some plot is also played in the forums and in the game, and if there is a hero or villain that participates the plot, one should keep in mind that someone could also try to contact that particular person in game. If he or she is in the different server... there is no-one to find in the game.
Suggestion: mark the threads somehow that people will know that participating characters should be available in game, too. Defining which server is in question would also be nice.
Continuing on from what Rotten said, Whitemoore can take months or longer to advance a single 'day'...
and the Villain/Chateau, well its similar.
If you want to talk to any of the people involved, it would be best to talk to them via PMs or via the OOC threads. There is a US global chat channel that most players are on, but I don't know it.
I can't speak for the others, but every single one of my characters are a real toon somewhere, usually on Virtue, but not always.
Other threads to look into are the Two Six, and The Final Fight. Personally I've limited myself to the Villian area for now... does that help at all? -
If someone did, (design the T-Shirts), would you get Book 2 out sooner?
