Quote:Well, one of the DC guys said he never wants to see Supergirl's panties again, iirc. The cynic in me says, "Well, she could always go commando then...".Couldn't they keep the old look of Supergirl while giving her the new costume (which just seems like a reason to say "look no pantie shots")?
Harley Quinn, love her outfit, but it doesn't seem like the Harley Quinn I love.Or maybe teach your artists how to draw scenes such that she isn't flashing the viewer. It might also be a way of moving away from the rather too-skinny look that she's had for a while.
Harley looks more like Arkham Asylum Harley than anything else. -
Ya know what this reboot is starting to look like?

He shouldn't "have to", but if it's the choice between not being able to get them and being able to get them...
And hey, just giving him an idea to try. It's pretty doubtful that they'd be able to unblock whatever IP range is being blocked inside of a week. -
Quote:I also have fond memories of sitting down and watching Knight Rider when I was a kid. Doesn't mean I can sit down and watch it now without groaning at the cheesiness factor of it...Le sigh...I was right
"Jim Lee: A lot of people still have fond memories of Rob Liefeld's run on Hawk & Dove, and it felt real fitting to bring him back. The guy has a tremendous amount of enthusiasm for what he does, and we really expect Hawk & Dove to benefit from that energy. He and Sterling have really brought the momentum that you need to launch a book." -
Quote:/facepalmAccording to the synopsis on the link, Wondergirl is a thief. Or something...
I don't read any Gawker sites anymore. Not since they went to that screwy, completely unnecessary, and ugly revamp of everything.
But good doG, this revamp sounds ever more trainwrecky every day... -

No, no see, you have it wrong. In about three years, Bruce won't be Batman. In five years, he'll go back to being Batman after they cluster-**** everything up again and have to resort to another universe-wide reboot.

Why does Wonder Girl look like she should be playing red-side rather than blue?

Quote:That it's a higher magnitude of released energy? Only thing I've got. *shrug*Um, no. If we haven't ignited the atmosphere with the fusion bomb tests then we won't be able to do it with an antimatter bomb. What, exactly, do you think is different about an antimatter explosion that it could ignite the atmosphere when various thermonuclear and fusion devices couldn't?

Quote:Except the boss of the bad guys was a white guy both times and his number 2 was a white woman both times and that the leaders of the people that attacked both factions of mutants were white.Fair enough, and essentially the counter I offered in the car. But I couldn't dispute the point that in a visual medium through real life social filters of the audience - the bad guys at the end were not "white anglo-saxon" and the good guys were.
I just thought was interesting and worth sharing. I probably agree with your general interpretation, though.
However, look at the mutants as a whole. You are not seeing any of the traditional discrimination amongst them. Given the time frame of the movie, namely early 60's, is fairly rare. -

All Shaw was missing was a white cat

Ok, thank you very much everyone for the infos. Trying to figure out where/what I need to order. >.< doG, when did buying comics get so frickin' labor intensive...

That's just it though, for comics like that, I couldn't stand reading 'em on a computer. Would rather have the trades/issues than a CD.
So Sho...is it in black & white? -
Quote:Is that really a valid observation though? I mean, in the context of the movie, ALL the mutants are a "minority". Subdividing based on skin color is no more valid in that situation than subdividing based upon powers.Had a conversation about the movie on the carpool home...
An observation I had missed was pointed out to me - other than Darwin, none of those that stayed with the 'good guys' were minorities. In the context of the acceptance theme, I thought that was interesting.
Then we have the fact that there were 3 that switched sides, Angel, Raven, and Erik. Of those three, only one would be considered a "minority" by current definition. One of the remainder was white and the other saw herself as a white girl. Raven would technically be "blue", of which 50% went evil and 50% stayed good.
On the good team, we have Darwin and Beast. One is a traditional "minority" and the other became one of two people on the planet that shared that skin color.
You could even say that there was a third minority that stayed good...namely the ginger. -
Something else...
Is the pocket manga in color or b&w? What about the individual issues (same question)? -
THAT'S where I've seen that guy before! Yes, he was a good Leto II. How I wish SciFi had had the cahones to make God Emperor and Heretics of Dune...

Quote:And goshdangit, Steph is a good Batgirl.Indeed. Tim Drake is my favourite Robin. Not that I dislike Dick Grayson, but I like him better as Nightwing (preferably with the awesome big collar).
Babs fits as Oracle, though I find it...odd...that in a universe littered with high tech and magic, that she still can't walk.

Saw this series mentioned in Foamie's thread, but needed some clarification.
Does anyone know the publication order or the series order? I've looked it up on Amazon, but a little confused as to which is the starting point for the TPBs. -

When do I get my voidhawk to go raid some antimatter stations?
