  1. Well Done Zortel !! I would only add that it is delightful to RP while running missions and TFs as well. You need to have a strong character picture and background in your mind ( and in your bio) and stay consistent and true to that character. It helps if you have picked a character which many people may have some knowledge of and then simply (it isn't simple to do tho) react to everyone as that character during missions between missions etc. For Example; you pick Lucky Skyrunner as your character and you are from a galaxy far far away. Most people have an idea about that character and you can become that character in the game. Will it be different than another famous character with a similar name, sure but that is ok just don't cross the line into copyright infringement =) But you now have a character everyone can relate to whether you are in a PUG or a SG team or an AE team or a RP team. Be aware that there will be people who want to know your real ID and what gender and age you are but usually reply in character and they give up in short order (Why yes I am Yogurt and900 of your years I be) It does not detract from playing the game at all and if you manage to team up with some one who gets what you are doing and plays along it can add great fun and intrigue to the game. I have several characters I have done this with. A word of caution tho, try to be something that is fairly well known or is similar to a well known figure it gives people a good starting point. If you truly want to create a new character that isn't similar to some other well known character it is best done in with other RPers.
  2. Yes I see this same thing, I think. What you are referring to as "twitching" for me is much more pronounced, the npcs when engaged will jump to one side or the other sometimes directly towards me sometimes directly away. Typically it appears the move is 10 to 30 feet. If you are playing a blaster and you are attempting to snipe and suddenly the npc is 3 feet from you bashing you it is somewhat disconcerting. Since they can land blows the game has recognized that they moved and are close to you so it is not a simple animation thing or maybe they gave all the npcs teleport capability I dunno. Haven't noticed the "slide" thing but will watch for it. I have also noticed the much more angular or faceted appearance of terrain especially in Talos and Croatoa and to a seemingly lesser degree in the Hollows. I reported the "twitching" in-game and also in another thread. Back Alley Brawler responded by asking for more details maybe if he reads your post and the rest here, ahhh well... there I go trying to be optimistic again.
  3. No I do not mean ragdoll per se, when the npc is defeated and lying on the floor it will change position usually a horizontal spin of 180 degrees or 90 degrees sometimes clockwise sometimes counterclockwise. The doors are generally doors inside missions but it also occurs with doors into the tram. When you engage a foe (only happens when you engage them) they will dissappear and reappear a split second later 20 to 30 feet from where they were, sometimes at right angles to a line drawn between you sometimes directly towards , sometimes directly away from you, sometimes combinations of all the above. You a developer may consider the comment unnecessary but I the user who pays money do not. BTW The quote is actually; You can fool some of the people all of the time and all of the people some of the time but you cannot fool all of the people all of the time.
  4. In addition to those I mentioned above there are frequent instances in which npcs flop around after being defeated and in Talos lots of instances where npcs (foes) disappear, reappear at some distance away or right in front of you or jus disappear altogether and the non opening doors continue tho I can walk through them but then so can the baddies (rats) Before you loose 16 on us can we get the damn thing working right please oh wait , I got it ! the release of 16 will mask the snafus with new snafus so we won't notice the old ones, very crafty.
  5. I have reported this in game but didn't see it here so I will give it a go. There is an irregular occurence of doors that do not open when clicked ( overhead rollups in warehouses, elevator doors in buildings and lateral sliding dbl doors in labs etc that do not activate. However players and npcs can and do both walk through them. There is also an increasing number of occurences where npcs get stuck in walls and ceilings. Ranged damage powers will not fire on them but they can fire upon players ( very frustrating for blasters trying to solo a mission) sometimes melee powers can get them sometimes not, AOE powers do seem to work most of the time. Let me add to the chorus that one shotted npcs continue in their existing state whether that was standing with a thumb in one ear or talking to another npc, it is relatively harmless but very weird and confusing if part of a large group because you then think they are still active. The COT Behemoths and Behemoth Lords, if hit with knockback frequently get hung up in the wall or stalagmite or ceiling and kind of thrash around even though they have more than half of their health bar still lit up. The archery animation sometimes shows the rain of arrows leaving the bow going backwards, I thought you had fixed this at one point but just noticed it again yesterday; the ranged shot animation has you fitting the arrow to the bow twice but it does not do it all the time and I have not been able to pin it down to a certain situation or foe; periodically the animation for a shot will simply not occur but the arrow flies to target anyway, I don't know that it occurs for all shots but certainly most of the different shots, though it too is irregular and does not happen all the time or even most of the time. If you fire a rapid sequence of archery shots sometimes the aimed shot will activate a second time (helpful sometimes annoying at others). Almost all of these glitches do not happen all the time but they do occur with enough frequency to be annoying and to detract from this shared fantasy we have.
  6. Hmmmmm, feedback huh well let me start by saying I have been playing COH for 4 yrs and had probably 100 characters over that time some didn't last long some have been with me since the beginning. I have a number of 50s don't remember exactly how many 8 or 9 sumpin like that. Thats not especially important to me nor is it a goal forme. I understand it is for some people and I guess there is room for that without it megatively affecting my play or others. But I14 , while it has some very laudable virtues also has as many pitfalls. It is a great concept but the number of problems , new problems, indicates to me a lack of forethought on the part of the developers. A number of people have noted the deliterious affect on the in game economics and I agree that the price of salvage has skyrocketed to the point that if you don't jump on the "farm" bandwagon you are essentially excluded from the IO market because you cannot afford it doing regular mission and TF play. It impacts the use of the market and creation of IOs, creates deadzones in the game, reduces the availability of players for teams in other than AE arcs. It does not appear the developers anticipated these problems or if they did, took no steps to mitigate them. In addition , the problems created when the developers messed around with the SG system are extremely aggravating and they still have no fix. The system worked and needed no changes yet the devs could not leave well enough alone and had to create a Super Leader (which was not needed and accomplishes nothing) and muck around with the "permissions" concept to solve a non-existent problem. Then of course we get new emotes and costumes but you have to pay for them ( for newbies, we used to get more costume options and emotes for free on this game) and of course you can now buy your influence rather than earn it by game play. I met a lvl 7 controller who had 450 million infl and wanted my 50 to farm him to lvl 50 in trade for 200 million. Sorry I have no desire to support that kind of stuff. I have no doubt that he ( or she) will get his/her wish just not from me. No ego gratification, happiness, status or respect comes from buying your way to lvl 50 and no fun either. If all you want to do is get to lvl 50 I suggest that NC Soft create a separate way for people to spend their money and buy a level 50 character when they purchase the game but keep them separate from the people who actually want to play the game and enjoy playing the game. But as we know money doesn't talk , it screams - NCSoft is after all in it for the money - I applaud the players who are creating enjoyable arcs and missions that are intrinsically rrewarding and that you would play even if there was no in game reward. We seem to have lost sight of the concept that the game is the reward. We PLAY the game and PLAY is it's own reward. I sympathize and am quite close to joining those who have said in this thread that , hey it was a good game had a good run before it got mucked and went down the same road as WoW and which seems to be the same result for all MMOGs. It tried to be a bit different and succeeded for a while and I am happy I was there for the good times when 50s used to help newbies and you could search out a 50 in AP and ask questions and get civil answers , when 50s would give people influence because the liked their costume or their backstory or abunch of level 3-5 characters in the sewers would suddenly get healed by a lvl 50 defender who would appear escort them for a bit and then leave to go help someone else. Some of us still do some of those things but those days appear to be on their way out to be replaced by PLing and AE farms in addition to the PI farming. This has become too long but in answer to your request for feedback I have to say it was a nice, creative try but the implementation lacked in forethought and what the potential consequences might be. AE is a grand idea but created anarchy, which created a series of other problems which have been enumerated here and in other posts. BTW the categorizing of feedback as objective or subjective is really as disservice for in the final analysis the only thing that counts is the subjective experience, if we like it we continue to play if we don't we stop and go elsewhere. Whether I can continue to tolerate the negatives created by I14 will depend on whether it is outweighed by the positives but right now it isn't looking real promising. If you fix some of the issues (and they are fixable) I will probably stay but you have a good game that you are not protecting enough.
  7. Welcome, There is more here than ever dreamed of in your philosophy (dismal paraphrasing but then it is an echo of many)- Namaste
  8. I agree Borehound, I am at 4 years and we used to get costumes as part of the changes but no more - they (NCsoft ) are proving ever more greedy. I am pretty much convinced at this point that it is NCsoft that is marketing influence under false names as well since they are not doing anything to curtail it.
  9. yes I have characters that crash at map loading, it is not consistent and appears almost randomly, no they are not in same SG and no it does not affect all character only a few
  10. This is without doubt the dumbest idea ever perpetrated. Comic book writers had no choice, they had no sound option to work with and now even though you have sound you want to return to the dark ages and have no sound to save hard drive space! You've got to be kidding, that is the lamest marketing ploy I have ever heard. If someone is foolish enough to build a computer with no sound they don't play games anyway. There is nothing that has the faintest trace of truth in anything you have said about this abysmally absurd idea. Scrap it now before you drive people away! This is just plain dumb! dumb! DUMB!
  11. Hmmmmm, lemme guess, you have a marketing background and you really have no idea what changes are coming but you have been assured they will be great by some techy person or maybe not, doesn't matter you still believe they will still be great (see any one of many Dilbert cartoons). The real question is, great for whom? The Techy person , the acct., or (gasp) maybe the players?
