    Yes, that's right. PvP is coming. The level cap will eventually be raised beyond 50. Etc. Saying "it's only from 47-50" is very short-sighted. This has the potential to massively affect the future of the game.

    Source: Statesman himself. He said it's not a priority, that it's not going to happen for awhile (probably not until after CoV), but that it will eventually be raised. This was quite a while back; I can't find the quote anymore. It's probably been purged from the forums.

    Sorry, but this is not true. Here's how you max all resists but psi as a scrapper:

    Permahasten (6 slots of recharge reducers)
    Unstoppable (3 slots damage resist, 3 slots recharge reducers)
    Resist Physical (Base slot)
    Resist Fire/Cold (Base slot)
    Resist Energies (Base slot)

    That gives you permaunstoppable and 90% to everything but psi, same as a tank. Total cost is 10 slots, 5 for Unstoppable and 5 for Hasten (which you'd probably max out anyway).

    It's ridiculously easy. It doesn't weaken scrapper offense at all. You don't even need a power pool.

    2. I was zoning at the time he talked to the contact and got the badge. Maybe that was somehow related to me not getting the badge.

    I petitioned but have still got no real human response other than email that says "we are working on your issue", which is frustrating because I am becoming a real badge fiend and I have no more friends left in that level range. Even if I did, I am not remotely confident that I would receive the badge, at this point.

    Excellent post.

    This helped me find a bug in Alexander's mission where only the Mission Owner gets the reward. I have fixed this... it will be a while before the fix makes it to Live however.

    Pos, can you check War Wall Defender too? I did this exemplared to my wife 2 nights back. She was leading and got the badge, I did not.

    It appears that the Field Marshal Ruladak Task Force in the Shadow Shard is similarly bugged. A week or so ago I was on a team that did the whole thing, I was there thru the whole TF, and was close to Ruladak when he finally dropped, took us 8 hours, and only the fellow (the great tanker named Impact) who started the TF got the badge.

    The entire team got a lvl 53 SO, I did too, it's on my character. But no badge for completing the TF. Is there any hope that I won't have to repeat this long TF someday to get the badge?

    Actually, GB, it's a souvenir, not a badge. And over the last few days, a couple other players on the Ruladak TF have gotten theirs too. Check your souvenirs page for "The Legend of Ruladak". Yours might have shown up.

    BTW, you're a pretty amazing tank yourself you know :-)

    Actually, the upside for scrappers isn't just crits--though that's nice. The upside is that they get way more AOE's that do damage. Consider the power sets:

    Tankers:

    Axe: 2
    Energy: 1
    Fire: 3
    Ice: 1
    Stone: 1
    Super Strength: 1
    War Mace: 2

    Average: 1.57

    Scrapper:

    Broadsword: 3
    Claws: 3
    Dark Melee: 3
    Katana: 3
    Martial Arts: 1
    Spines: 4

    Average: 2.83

    Right now, AOE damage is king in this game. In a typical permahastened 5 attack combo, the average scrapper can AOE 57% of the time. The average tanker can AOE 31% of the time, about half as often. Combine this with crits and higher base damage, and tanks don't come anywhere close to scrapper damage output.

    You have to look at everything a scrapper can do, not just crits. AOE matters, Znail. In CoH as it currently stands, it matters more than any other factor.

    Have to disagree with this. I soloed my invuln/superstrength tank almost the entire way to 50 since tanks weren't in demand for groups (and still aren't). Fights with typical street packs took a LONG time. Doing more damage as the fight dragged on would have helped a lot.

    This is SUCH good news. As the instigator of the now-famous tanker scrapper war over defense caps, I am especially thrilled to see #2 acknowledged by a dev. Statesman, thank you. I also love the PBAOE provoke idea for all tanker attacks--in fact, I first proposed that at least a couple months back.
