*Slides in*
Man, I wish they would get this darn invasion week done with already. Just so hard for me to get excited about it, and while I do appreciate the way they are trying to build it up, its still the same old lagfests.
*Grabs his coffee*

Quote:QFT!Some people don't want to RP character intimate interactions, for whatever reason. It may be something that happens in real life, but they have no wish to dwell on it in their pretendy funtime games. They feel they can still have meaningful and fun RP without involving intimacy in any way. More power to them.

Some people don't want to RP going to the bathroom, for whatever reason. It may be something that happens in real life but they have no wish to dwell on it in their pretendy funtime games. They feel they can still have meaningful and fun RP without involving taking a dump in any way. More power to them as well.
The trouble starts when people decide that only things they personally are comfortable with should be mentioned in all RP ever.
*goes off and RP's an intimate death in the bathroom* -
*Plops in*
Morning Fed
*grabs some coffee*
Its gonna be one of those days methinks. -
Quote:<soapbox>Irrational Emotional Behavior is about as good a gauge of age as typing proficiency. Just look at a good majority of "adults" who are diagnosed as Bipolar, Chronically Depressed, on psychosomatic drugs, or better yet, are not on them yet should be.
As I mentioned in my last post, I have my doubts about your age, based on your irrational emotional behavior. Typing proficiency is frequently a pretty poor indicator.
Honestly, I fear more for the amount of violence we do not protect our children from than mere words.
Go into any bookstore and a minor can go and get a harlequin romance novel, which is many ways is considered "erotic". Kids get adults to pick up erotic magazines, or find their parent's erotic magazines/dvds.
For that matter, when you get the Winamp Media Player, take a look through the streaming video stations they have. Unless you specifically turn on a filter, there are a bunch of erotic streams to watch for free.
The problem with your thinking is that a game situation should be the one policing the conversations, when in all reality, a minor, even playing a Teen rated game, is still a minor and should be monitored first and foremost by their parents.
Unfortunately in the age we live in, most parents seem to be too busy to do things like that. We have gotten to busy, to careless, and to stupid at this point in the game. We don't want to take responsibility and instead want to shove it off on whoever we can.
All that being said, this game is privately owned, and we play in the Dev's world. They have the final say, if you don't like it, then report it to the authorities, make a protest, stop playing, whatever. </soapbox>
*Goes and puts on flame retardant underwear* Have at it. -

Well hello there.
LEave your sanity at the door, as sanity is illegal here.
You may start your first Drama thread after one week, or getting into drama in another thread.
We have our quarterly RP drama thread (Stigma about Pocket D) going on right now and do recommened it for educational purposes.
We do hope you enjoy your stay, and welcome again!
((Seriously, nice to see you come out of the woodwork)) -

Quote:Well, that was the Lore, but they kept finding ways around ti for The MAster, so I would assume that they could do that for The Doctor also.Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the lore say that Timelords only get 12 regenerations (unless they're given an extra set, as with the Master)? I will admit, I was a late-comer to Doctor Who fandom, so I may have missed something that changed that for the Doctor. Also: I'm gonna miss David Tennant's Doctor, too. ;_;

Quote:Well, there is in the Midnighters Club, but very few people seem to use that. However, it doesn't hold a candle to the old Gemini Park RP of yester-year IMHO.
I think this statement demonstrates beautifully the diversity of RP. Streaming radio and dancing toons just isn't for me, but so what? For those who enjoy it, it makes a great asset to the game. So the D is great.
I think if there is any lament at all, it is that the D is the only definitive hot spot these days. RP flares up here and there, and we all have our private circles we RP in as well, but the game could use another cross-faction spot. I mean when you have to use the entrance to the Rikti War Zone to get something other than a discotheque, well the situation makes me a little sad.
I think this might also add to the D's stigma. It is the only real convenient cross-faction "drop-in" zone, designed exclusively for social interaction - and it is this big, blaring warehouse of disco lights with rumors of cat girls lingering in dark corners.
It's unfortunate...I think if there was another cross-faction hot-spot that had a contrasting style, I'd wager the "stigma" over the D would probably diminish. -
*strolls in*
Mmmmmm Fried foods. Not good for you but oh so yummy.
*grabs some donutes and bacon and makes a sammich of them and some fried eggs*
So how is everyone today? Ready for the weekend? -
Quote:You are right to an extent, but I remember the same types of cliquishness in Gemini Park back then also. It just was easier to watch what was going on there IMHO, and the setting gave a different flavor to it all. Getting involved IMHO was harder at Gemini Park (Thanks to Killer Whale who got me introduced to some of the people there)./agreed
However, it doesn't hold a candle to the old Gemini Park RP of yester-year IMHO.
I really think that there was a stigma with Open RP (Atlas, Gemini, Pocket D) overall that drove a lot of RP into the SG Basses when those came in game. Its unfortunate, especially with all the neat places to do RP now including Pocket D, The Midnight Club, Gemini Park ( I still do shows there occasionally), Prometheus Park in Atlas, the university campuses, etc...
I'm not saying RP is dying, I just don't think it is as open as it use to be, and I think that does give RPer's overall a look of being super cliquish. -
Quote:Zombie is right on the virus percentages, but that isn't the problem with your machine. We can't help you if you won't run the scans we ask you to.
I've caught about 20 infected systems from these scans from people in this forum who had anti-virus running. No AV program is foolproof. In fact, most have about an 80% success rate, much less than what people think it would be.
The mini dump you posted says right on top that it is a problem with the video hardware. Odds are that the video card is either a) overheating or b) has a memory problem.
The replacement card being sent should take care of the issue.
If not then just the hijack this and CoH help programs and post here so we can diagnose better. -
*Stumbles in*
Bleh. Stupid snow.
*Flops down in the FBBC and turns back on Looney Toons*
Seems the Apacolypse happens every other week around here. I'll just kick back and enjoy the cartoons still.
*gets his coffee and relaxes* -
OW!,
Thanks Nekko. Now then no more skritches for you.
*settles back in to watch the looney toons an skritch the PUPPEH!* -
Me a sort of celeberty??? Not even close.
I just happen to be around the D enough to know it gets a bad rep from people.
And Fed, I try to keep my shows nice and friendly to everyone. Yeah there are cliques everywhere, but I decided I"m not gonna let others ruin things for me. -
Quote:QFTThere's a surprising amount of crossover between these two kinds of people:
Those who claim Pocket D is a cesspool of cyberers and other nonsense.
Those who RP in Pocket D all the time, and are completely isolated inside their cliques.
Funnily enough, the cyberers are usually nice enough to find a private corner somewhere away from the crowd and communicate in team chat. If anything gives the D a bad reputation in my eyes, it's the cliques and the troublemakers.
That and the past.
Being one who is in Pocket D quite regularly, The broadcast in the D tends to be on the weird side with a lot of joking about said grievences done along with a bunch of other silly nonsense.
This was not always the case, adn there was a time when the D was a lot worse. Also it depends on where you go, as going up to the Bar Blue side, you can see some of the fighting stuff going on, but its mostly pretty innocent.
When we have shows in the D (which is quite often) we have people hanging around and most of us try to welcome new people and get them somewhat involved.
There will always be those that Bash the D, but it really is a nice little spot.
