Quote:The 2010 Winter Event is nearly upon us and will bring new presents and dangers to Paragon City, the Rogue Isles and Praetoria. You will be able to stop Lady Winter's plot to freeze the world, . . . etc. etc. . . .
We'll announce more details on the 2010 Winter Event "next week" so keep your eyes peeled!
So... *looks at calendar* Is it "next week" yet? /e wait -
So it's not an issue of the "Final Objective" arrows not working. BOTH missions are bugged! ARG!
Move along. Nothing to see here, citizens. -
Clarification and Update:
The missions are from Terrence Dobbs and Westin Phipps, respectively.
The one from Terrence is "Defeat all Arachnoids" while the one from Westin (a thoroughly despicable chap, mind you) is "Eradicate Arachnoid Nest". They both supply mission arcs in Grandville for villains level 40-44.
I finally heard from a GM. 3.5 hours after my first report and 40 minutes after my second. Long story short, since I'd left the missions and gone back to flashbacks I could not be helped. I had hoped for a magic "complete mission" button but alas, it was not to be.
Now, I know that GM's are insanely busy today. I get that and respect it. Having spent most of my working life (except for a blessedly brief stint in fast food as a teen) in "Customer Service" I know what it's like to be so busy I barely have time to breathe and have customers freaking out because they had to wait on hold so I am _very_ considerate of those from whom I am seeking "customer service". That being said, I was a bit frosted that I had to repeat everything in my ticket from the name of the contact, to the mission name to what had happened. No one survives in customer service for long if they don't learn to read trouble tickets before contacting the customer. After all, they ask for us to provide the information to make it easier and faster for the rep to help. It's like punching your phone number in when you call the cable company so your account can be pulled up by the rep only to have to give them your phone number so they can pull your account up when you get a real person on the line. *sigh* Venting over.
So anyway, no magic button exists so stay in the mission until the GM gets to you or your hair goes gray. Or until you're fed up enough to use the once-every-3-days mission drop option just to get it out of your sight, or save some poor GM from your screams of insanity induced by staring at the web strewn walls of a small and easily mapped tunnel system empty of everything but the dim echos of your voice mumbling about the bugs crawling in the walls and singing kumbaya by the light of their tiny camp fires... What? -
Quote:No worries.Well, it is only going to show up if only one enemy is remaining. So maybe there are two! I am not being much help though. Make sure you didn't miss a hallway though, those arachnoid layers can be hard to scout (though, seeing that you are posting on the forums, I am guessing you searched it pretty hard).
Sorry I don't have much useful to say!
Yeah, I searched hard, including running up and down each side of each tunnel to make sure I didn't miss anything. Now I'm on another kill-all with arachnoids on the same exact map (though in a totally different location) and again, not a critter to be seen and no helpful red arrow (I can see maybe missing one mob, but 2 after being so thorough? I can't imagine it.) and no blue "Mission Complete".
I'm currently waiting my usual 15 minutes for a GM to show up. If there is no joy, I'll go back to flashback missions for a while. lol -
I'm in the middle of an empty "defeat all" mission. Every hall, nook, and cranny has been searched. There is no red arrow and there are no arachnoids to be seen.
I've sent in a bug report but am curious to know if anyone else is having this problem.
(For the record, this is on Justice - Red side.)

Quote:Michelle, I second all of those ideas! LOLNew Christmas Events:
- Snaptooth-skeet-shooting off the top of the Ski Chalet.
- Timed Mission #1: Iinject Baby New Year with a super serum that gives him a HUGE body, then lead him to a cage match with Snaptooth. Cutscene ensues.
- The 2009 Paragon City Winter Olympics... speed skating, ice dancing, and curling on the Winter Croatoa map.
- Timed Mission #2: Deliver 200 presents within 30 minutes. Finally, a use for all those drive-by Speed Boostings.
- New Outdoor Base Construction: SNOW FORT.
- Timed Mission #3: Vernon von Grun, in an attempt to match Dr. Aeon's brilliance, has decided to bring snow to the Rogue Isles. Only it doesn't quite work as expected, because he figured that the demon under the PTS was keeping the temperature too warm...

Though honestly, I'd be thrilled if Snaptooth AND that Rikti Monkey in a Baby New Year suit were completely scrapped and something else done to replace them. I haven't a clue what since I haven't had enough coffee to wake my wit up this afternoon. *sigh*
How about team sledding/toboggans? Caroling at random doors in town ala ToT for ticked off elves, fat men in red suits, reindeer or candy canes/other goodies? -
Since it doesn't appear to be running all month long, any clues on how long this event will last? I wasn't exactly a fan of 31 days of darkness (costume contests are a pain, and seeing _anything_ redside is nearly impossible) but I was _really_ hoping for at least ToT starting today...

I haven't seen any new threads on this topic since June and no response to the existing threads by anyone who can give us an answer so this is my attempt to get some kind of official word.
I understand the previously mentioned reasons for not announcing Invasion or Double XP events (if we even have Double XP anymore though we've had a couple events since Patrol XP came out). However, the regular holiday events would be nice to schedule for.
With 3 teen boys who spend time with their father, it's nice to be able to plan out the time that they can participate in the events. Just one of the many reasons why it would be great to have the calendar wallpapers updated. Plus, it looks highly unprofessional to have such outdated material on the site. Removal or updating seem like the best options to make a better impression on new or returning users, especially with the new super hero genre games coming out. I know there are a lot priorities right now what with i16 and Going Rogue still pending, but web site maintenance is important too.
So here's another vote for new calendar wall papers!
