Quote:Naw, I don't do lolfightklub. This is an open zone event. What I am going to do is randomly give out prizes for costumes I see that I like or if I just see someone wreck someone and make me giggle. I also plan on actually broadcasting targets randomly and giving out money for the kill shots as well.I hope this event isn't being hosted under Atlas, where Fight Club is? because i might just use that to my advantage... I mean my stalker is named Targus FC Police, that could get annoying for the participants. Now would I do such a thing?
NOOOO MOST CERTAINLY NOT!!!!

This is tonight guys. We seen several new pvprs at Wednesday nights arena tourney. Zone pvp is way more casual and easier so I am hoping we will have lots of new people. Come on out, trick o' treat and maybe get lucky and even have some free influence/infamy thrown your way. -
Ty to everyone who participated. There were several new pvprs at the event which was great. The final winner was Melted Sheets. Gratz on your nifty new costume code. :-)

I see several people in a hotel room of both sexes laying on beds and I just wanna know what did I miss that the tape isn't showing?

Yeah I have been on 2 runs that were slightly faster than that one. One was with WC, the other with a combo of Vori and Bronx's VG (can't remember the name, sorry). Good run though guys, super impressive time.

- Semi-Finals: 3-vs-3 Double Elimination

EVENT RULES
- Please Note: that the Arena terminal can be accessed via Menu -- Thus I don't really care where you are located. I will be using the Arena chat which can be seen by any player currently on the server and as long as you follow it you SHOULD know what to do. However, it is MUCH easier to communicate when you are in the same location as I (pocket d) along with a whole bunch of other stuff...
- This is a SHW Event. Levels 47-50 only.
- In the event of an odd number of players (not divisible by 3), random player(s) will take a turn receiving a PASS. No player will be allowed more then 1 PASS.
- All matches will be 10 minutes in length.
- All matches are required to leave Diminishing Returns enabled. This means that the "No Diminishing Returns" option is not to be selected. // simplified: DR is on...
- All matches are required to have Travel Suppression disabled. This means that the "No Travel Suppression" option is to be selected.
- All matches are required to have Heal Decay disabled. This means that the “No Heal Decay” option will be selected. // Yes, any kind of heal will hit for max all the time...
- Teams may agree on the map of their choosing. If both parties can not agree on what map is to be used, then the map will be randomly selected by the arena system. No map resets will be permitted, including for cage matches.
- One Reset is permitted for player disconnect within the first 90 seconds of a match. Any disconnects after the first 90 seconds (or a second disconnect) will result in the team having to play shorthanded.
- Spawn camping is not permitted. If spawn camping is reported, the match will be repeated AFTER the Round Robin segment of the tournament has completed WITH the event host present. If an event host observes a team spawn camping they will be immediately disqualified from the tournament.

- The players with the 9 top scores will pass to The Semi-Finals round. In the event of an uneven number of players (not divisible by 3) the players with the lowest score(s) will be eliminated in a free-for-all match.
The Semi-Finals // read carefully.....- The Semi-Finals round will consist of a 3-vs-3 Double Elimination Tournament. Players will participate in matches until they have 2 defeats.

Good Luck! Have Fun!
Presented by the PvPEC
<Sorry for the short notice, was out of game a few weeks> -
Don't hate the poster, what do you expect for a minute of effort? :-)
- What? RV Trick O' Treatin pvp Bash!
- Where? RV duh!
- When ? Friday October 30th 2009
- Time? 9pm EST til' the ghosts go home.
- Prizes? I will be randomly giving out cash prizes for costumes I really like or random kill shots just for the hell of it. So if you receive a trade invite from one of my toons you might want to risk the possible A.S. to collect the goodies. :-) I will switch back and forth between my hero and villain to spread the love around.
- Whether you pvp or not, come on out and have some fun. Believe it or not you will get some trick o' Treating done being most of the hardcore pvpr's will be too busy killing each other to worry about you. <evil grin>
- Bring your favorite beverage, I know I will be!
- P.S. Excessive smack talking or being nasty or retarded for no reason disqualifies you from me sending you trade invites automatically. Lets try to make this an event to make some new pvpr's feel welcome and have some fun. Keep the BS to a minimum.

Sorry to the LGTF team I was just on. I crashed and it keeps telling me the Db server is not available when I try to log back in.

Quote:Sadly its not about honor. It is about competition. There are only so many options. Win at winning or lose at losing. Your choice. You can do a lot of things but people dont, do you drone people? Do you PL lowbies? (wait...youra PvP'er of course you do)
I guess theres no place for principles is the serious business that is the PvP world...Wheres the honor amongst thieves?
If you take pvp'n serious....... You invest in choosing an AT you think might Rock. You invest in leveling that toon up. You invest in doing some sort of build for it, be it SO's or commons or purples. Most likely if you pvp on a regular basis you are going to have some sort of special pvp build. Then you practice. You practice some more. Eventually you learn that pve and pvp are totally different. Your attack chain is different. The way you move is different. The way you handle your inspirations is different. Ohh wait you don't want to use them, but the guy you are fighting against does. He/she feels like if its in their tray and part of the game and not grayed out like something would be if it wasnt allowed then they want to have everything at their disposal to be the best they can be.
Having honor or integrity in pvp isn't about how you fight or what you use to fight. Its about your attitude and how you impact the people you fight with and against. Smack talking or being just nasty for no reason is fighting without honor. Using inspirations is just fighting the way the game intends you to fight, thats why they dont disappear or fade out from your trays when you enter the zone. -
Quote:Lmao, are you kidding me? While Bud might be an ******* most the time the SG that he runs is full of very helpful and experienced gamers. Hell his head council is full of some of the best Vets this server has to offer. They are like so many other very active SG's on the server, they are always doing stuff within their own SG and teaming with their own SG that you won't see them on PUG's as much as you might some less active SG's.
Special note to Protectors of Neverland - Actions speak louder than words (something i always say) and Budweiser and his crew are making me eat my words. I have noticed more members of PoN active on teams, i saw members out in atlas explaining keymapping and e-motes to new people with NO sg, and PoN has been active in events from many different organizations, so........WOW! I am impressed. Until now i would not team with a member of PoN, but now they are active in the community so i will help any member of PoN who needs me!
YOur self imposed importance never ceases to amaze me. Refusing to team with entire SG's because you don't deem them to be good enough? JFC you are a koolkid. Please add LES to your list of SG's you refuse to team with, I don't want my guys to accidently get infected with your ****** cooties. While you are adding them to that list can you send me a list of what it is that makes you such a fabulous gamer compared to everyone else? I am thinking I need to improve my gaming skills because I don't think even after 4 years and 23 content leveled 50's that I am remotely good enough to look down at the masses like you do.
Ok I am going to sleep now, I am feeling grumpy. -
Quote:I will give you a simple reason on why you should use inspirations. BECAUSE YOU CAN. So can everyone else, and they do. Where is the challenge in being dead? If the other person uses everything they have at their disposal such as inspirations, and you refrain then most likely you lose.
My thoughts are that you will never hit the Damage cap using any power without some outside help (team buffs) and for a toon to pop 8 big reds, 3 big purples is wrong, IMO. Why build up a toon and IO it out if you're goin to use inspires? Answer, because its easier to kill your opponent. I understand people want to dominate other players but where is the fun if there is no danger? I want to be challenged not just blaster hop around tryin to get a hit through soft-capped defense, i hate the long drawn out fights. Im not afraid to die but if i die from a 800 point AS, a 600 point ET and a 500 point TF, with the whole time me spamming my lowsy 300 point ET and 200 point TF that just dosnt get through the defense, thats when i get p***ed.
Its sort of like being in the army and going to war. You know your opponet is in a tank and you show up in a yugo. Not very smart, nor very likely to help you win.
On another note ty for the guide Scribe, is teh awesomesauce! -
Quote:I have officially come to the conclusion that Championites are a fickel bunch. So I look at the whole rep thing for the first time and I notice some odd things. I got 2 negative reps and 3 gray reps (whatever they mean) when I was asking for forum help and being totally nice. Then I get all kinds of positive rep and people telling me kudos when I was being longwinded and slightly argumentative in one of Silas's buffer threads. Out of all of my rep only 3 people left their name. Sorry but this whole forum rep system is pretty retarded IMHO.It he top of the screen to the left, It says "User CP" click it and it takes you to your info and you can see all that stuff.
The one good thing I got out of it from all the rep I have received is apparently people enjoy when I am sarcastic and slightly bitchy and use words like ******* ***** ******** that have to be bleeped out. That is where 90% of my good rep votes came from. Makes me wonder why I put effort in to being nice when people seem to like the real me better. :-) -
Lol. People really do that? How do you know when someone has given you negative rep?
And O.M.G. @ people taking forum posts serious enough to even give rep whether it be good or bad.
On a side note I have intentions of putting together an RV event as soon as my graphics card issues are solved and I am back playing the game again. Assuming my new graphics card which I got today solves my problems then I should be back as soon as I find the time to install it and my new ram this week. -
Quote:I agree that SG's shouldn't be allowed to compete in their own events. However its their event and they can run it how they want to. She has made it clear many times their members will always be allowed to compete in their events. So anyone with a problem with it already has the headsup not to participate.no one else finds it odd that aow wins 1st place in an aow event?
who tested these arc's? aow members.
not to be debbie downer and all.. but.. really?
Personally, I dont think its right allowing your own members to participate in their own sg's event.. such as this.
Thats the RINGER.
edited : from felecia : The members of AOW spent time teaming and enjoying each others company for a couple of weeks and were prepared for this event, BIG CONGRATZ and well done. -

Quote:Ping is a ******* genious. <3You're not able to survive getting shot by bullets or chopped by axes anymore?
You should try playing my toons. They're ******* super.
90+% of purples could be had in the last 7 days for less than 75M a piece.
Numbers. The more you know, the less dumb you look.
By moving farmers back out into real content, they've dropped the prices of purples, uncommon salvage, and rare pool A drops in less than a month by a range of 50 to 75%.
I'm gonna petition PBS to start an Adding Rainbow program just for you.
Wouldn't it be great if the whiners, bitchers, moaners, PLers, or whoever it may be just took the time to LISTEN to some of the people with basic mathematical comprehension...oh, and if they noticed that the vast majority of the playerbase called for an end to the AE farming and for customizable power colors to be added? (Question mark added for dramatic effect since it's a ******* question.)
I will say in response to Buds post there is one tiny thing I agree with. If the Devs left the AT's super powerful and equally overly powerful this would feel a little more like a superhero game. Not that I am complaining about how it is, but I would love to be able to pick up a subway car and throw it. Also to be on the receiving end of a big *** chevy being thrown at my hero toon and have it just bounce off their chest would be pretty cool too. :-) -

Quote:There was no exageration. Fireball has a 1 second cast time, firebreath takes 2.67, that is over doubled. So yes I can trow fireball twice in what it takes to throw one firebreath. Both have a 16 second base recharge time. Now the damage of course is not going to be doubled obviously because the base damage of firebreath is almost 40% more. So fireball thrown twice compared to one firebreath means only about 10% more base damage DPS. Now I personally think that is a bit skewed still due to the fact that firebreath is a cone which means to hit the max number of targets you have to fire it off from a measured ideal spot and how often shall you get that lucky?
Fire Breath takes 2.67 seconds to animate. You can fire off 2 Fireballs in that time? My corr has 95% global rech, hasten and 90% rech in Fireball and it recharges in 4.5 seconds. Share your hax plz.
With all those numbers being thrown out it doesnt change the fact that I never said firebreath was a wasted power. I used it as an example, along with jumpkick as a power that most deem as an inferior power. I also continued on to say my namesake has jumpkick as a concept build. I personally will typically do my builds based on my playstyle, which is very quick paced. No room for long animation powers unless they do some massive damage to justify that animation time to me. I also play all of my toons like a tank and already die enough without unnecessarily rooting myself any longer than necessary. Thats me though. If other people like it, goody. I am not a hater of teh firebreath and will agree it is a totally cool power if it fits in with your playstyle. :-) -
Quote:There are a lot of awesome powers a kin can contribute to a team without having SB. HOwever lets be honest. SB on the 7 other players means some fast mad killing. That means whatever you are trying to complete will be done much quicker. Is it a necessity? No. But damn nice to have and something I would normally automatically assume someone playing a kin would have, definitely. (Not so much anymore, sadly). And since the SB issue has been beat to death on these boards, I'll just say this as a final note regarding my observations while in game and just reading the boards.
I really get the feeling that a lot of people (including long time vets) would rather take a n00b kin willing to keep the team SBed at all times over a really good kin that doesnt have SB. And that to me is pretty sad.
"Hey, you wanna join this tf!"
"Sure, why not"
"You got SB?"
"..."
Not really sure if it's fair to judge a player based on powers he does or doesnt have that help you!
You either know the player is good and his toon will help the team, or you're looking for specific powers in certain builds.
I would never denigh any human being a spot on my team based on what powers they have or dont have. It would just be nice to have a headsup on certain key powers missing out of a build. -
Quote:You should perhaps check the DPS. I can hit fireball twice in the time it takes you to hit firebreath once. Also a PBAOE or AOE is always going to trump a cone in my book. Amount of targets hit being determined by which direction you are aiming at just sorta isn't as hawt.Kat, I'm really happy for you, I'm gonna let you finish but Fire Breath hits harder than Fireball, has a great cone when slotted and is easily one of the best cones OF ALL TIME
Personally I don't have firebreath on my toons, tried it, wasn't for me. I don't look at other people as noobs for having it. It was listed in my post as an example of one of many powers that the majority have deemed to not be that great.
