  1. I'm currently playing a TA/Archery defender very similar to this, and definately get Blazing Arrow as early as you can. Also forget about putting so many SOs into Snap Shot, it's just not worth it. Put more into Aimed Shot earlier, and get two/three recharges and an accuracy into it ASAP, which makes it just as useful.

IMO Flash Arrow is useless. It freezes a group, but as soon as you shoot one of them, they ALL unfreeze. Great for escapes from tricky situations, no good in combat!

My main thing with any Archer character is to get a shed load of recharges in to your arrows. The main reason to be an Archer is to fill people with arrows, and that's hard to do when waiting for the power to come up. Get two/three recharge reductions into your main combat arrows, and don't forget the accuracy, damage can come later when you have space.

There's a natural break in the progression of TA/Archery powers at level 14, I'd suggest holding off on any pool powers till then, as you can't take any arrow powers anyway!

The best guide to TA/Archery characters I've found is over at the US Forum, take a look. http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showf...part=1#5798552

For me, no matter how hard a normal person trains himself, and no matter how much better than the average "man-in-the-street" he is, he will NEVER be as good as a Superhuman.

    *cough* *cough* *batman* *cough*

Sorry, had something in my throat there for a bit.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Oh come on... Batman is good, but he's never going to be as fast as The Flash, as strong as Superman, or as good, physically, as any number of heroes with super powered physiques. He's "just" a man, albeit a highly intelligent, sneaky, cunning athletic man!
  3. But doesn't that defeat the point of having a "natural" hero?

For me, no matter how hard a normal person trains himself, and no matter how much better than the average "man-in-the-street" he is, he will NEVER be as good as a Superhuman.

That's why I suggest taking Hurdle & Swift rather than SJ or SS, that why your natural hero IS better than the civilians, but never as good as someone who's unnatural/superhuman powers give them the edge.
  4. I've been puzzling over this one myself for a while, as this is pretty much the concept for my TA/Archery Defender.

I've fugured that I'll probably take Swift + Hurdle to help getting around (after all the Fitness pool pretty much denotes the peak of physical prowess rather than actual powers), and then use rooftops alot in an Urban environ and just be really careful everywhere else!

There's somethin about leaping from rooftop to fire escape and on to window ledges for getting around a city that really appeals.

    Teenage heroes

    Let's just say Thursday!

8:00pm in Galaxy City, on the roof of the take away place just east of the Galaxy Girl statue?
  7. Crimson_Archer_EU

    Teenage heroes

well, I'm off on holiday for a wekk from Friday, so If it's after Thursday I'll miss the first get together... However, I'll go with the majority!

    Teenage heroes

Well, there's some nice buildings with decent fire escape access at the back just East of the Galaxy girl statue, and plenty of air conduits to sit and pose on!

Over looks GG as well, so peeps can tell when their friends turn up, but it's far enough away that you don't hear the local whispers.
  9. Crimson_Archer_EU

    Teenage heroes

well, I guess the first question is which zone? As most will likely be lower levels, then I reckon it's either Galaxy, Atlas, or King's

    Teenage heroes

Same as Electron Kid... well, since his reboot anyway!
  11. Cool, I'll try and drop by for a chat!

    Cheers!
  12. Well, with an RP archer with no one to play with, any chance I can track you down sometime?
  13. I was just wondering, with the name and all, is it a archer SG and if so, is it invitiation only?
  14. Can someone from the Fletched Alliance SG contact me please, or if anyone has any contact details for the same then I'd appreciate it.

    Cheers!

    Teenage heroes

Well, for me it's either gotta be a rooftop somewhere near GG/AP, or we head for Pocket D (I know that as teens we can't buy alcohol, but that didn't stop The Bronze being popular with the teens in Buffy!).
  16. Sounds great, I'll try and get one of my alts to a useful level by then! Where are we meeting up for the trek, or did I skim past something again?

You didn't, but others did. There was a period when being in the Rooftop Generation was "the in thing" and everyone started creating teens... except me and one or two others.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That was how I thought it had started, which was why Wonka's comments confused me a bit.

I'd love to see something new get started, whether as a loose affiliation of individuals or a proper SG I don't care, I just want somewhere where the teen Heroes & Sidekicks can go and be themselves with young people who think the same way... In-character at least!

    Teenage heroes

No, but you might go into the club, have a couple of cokes, dance a bit, get chatting to some people & find out you have like-minded interests, share some jokes, have a laugh, roll out into the City as a gang feeling vibed up with your new friends AND THEN kick some thugs!
  19. Crimson_Archer_EU

    Teenage heroes

So was it a case of a couple of teenage heroes chatting, then someone's friend thought "what a great idea!" and created a teen hero to join in, and pretty soon people were creating teen heroes specifically for the RG?

Anyway, a few times during the coming week I'll be hanging out on a rooftop over looking GG with a crate of Cresta cola if anyone wants to join me!
  20. Crimson_Archer_EU

    Teenage heroes

Naah, I don't get it. As a teen character I wouldn't been seen dead at GG anymore. I've been there IC and it's full of adults and isn't the place I would want to go. Afterall, I wouldn't shoose to hang out in my Dad's loca pub, playing his style of music and having his type of conversations.

Coincedence is all well and good, but we have to choose somewhere where the chemistry is likely to happen. Not a fix, but more like playing the odds.
  21. Crimson_Archer_EU

    Teenage heroes

But the RG came about without a plan, didn't it? We alredy have a concept, so there is already a conceit rquired to shoehorn that group together. If we just got to GG as individuals, roleplaying as teens, then it's likely we either wouldn't approach each other or just wouldn't be there in the first place because of all the adults. We need a conceit to get the teens together in one place anyway.

Maybe Pocket D would be a better place for the Teens?
  22. Crimson_Archer_EU

    Teenage heroes

But as a teenager I was ALWAYS trying to make contact with people who felt like me. Penpal ads, Little notes in my fav books in Libraries, etc. Isn't it the nature of teenagers to feel isolated, but at the same time seek a sense of tribal connection? Why should Super Teens be any different?
  23. Crimson_Archer_EU

    Teenage heroes

Okay, I see what you're getting at.

How about this then, someone posts up an IC notice on the Roleplaying forum. A flyposter somewhere in the city, or a penpal ad, something. Start something here first to build relationships?
  24. Crimson_Archer_EU

    Teenage heroes

Yeah, definately.. I tend to hang around their looking like a lost sheep anyway. How do you wanna arrange it? A notice on a social board at school?
  25. Crimson_Archer_EU

    Teenage heroes

But we ARE talking about Heroes in Paragon City. What happens or could happen in the Rogue Isles doesn't really have any bearing on the subject at hand.

If anyone wants to discuss the IC copyright/marketing/reputation issues of a collective of Villians or Heroes taking on the name of an existing, registered Supergroup, or the OOC examples of the same, then can we please have it in a seperate thread, and not in one about Teenage Heroes in Paragon City. Thanks.
