That's a nice sentiment and I agree that we all ought to strive to be better than what we are, but it is far from a "basic requirement". Nature's only requirement for us is that we survive. Beyond that, it has nothing to say.

Everybody get together try to love one another right now." o/~By supporting the Terrorists, GG allows these things to happen, even facilitates them at times! But gosh darn it there's just soooo much love and compassion all over the place once the Crusaders detonate a nuclear bomb in Nova Praetoria and then destroy the reactor in Neutropolis to let all the Devouring Earth in to "Love" whatever citizens survived!
I can't tell if GG is being serious or not anymore. If she is, she's either very deluded or naive. Such black and white thinking; you know, only a Sith deals in absolutes. -

This isn't speculation, but rather just wishful thinking. I kinda hope one of them is listening:
1) Along with power pool customisation, having alternate animations for the pool powers to allow them to coincide with the five origins. For example, a lot of people don't take the medicine pool because it doesn't mesh well for them with either magic or mutant based characters. Being able to choose what animation to use in the power customize screen at the tailor would be a boon to them!
2) Primary and Secondary power mixing and matching. Not that a blaster could take every nuke from every set, mind you! But say if they want Charged Bolts from Electrical Blast as their tier one power, and Power Blast from the Energy Blast set as their tier two, then they'd be able to do it. I, for one, would love to have Electric Fence, Build Up and Power Sink from the Electricity Manipulation set on my Elec/Dev blaster, and still have Targeting Drone and Cloaking Device.
3) (And I pressed the submit button too soon!) A revamp of Paragon City to make it a lot more pretty. Going Rogue has now entirely spoiled us and we've seen what the game is possible of showing us. Paragon City could have a lot better looking and more unique buildings, and the streets could look a lot better than how they appear. The Rogue Isles aren't as bad, but they could probably do with some improvements themselves. Personally, I've always kind of hoped we'd get some iconic buildings for El Super Mexicano, City of Gyros, and Up and Away Burger! Much like that doughnut shop in Faultline! -
I deleted the third character I ever made, an elec/elec blaster named Lady Faraday on Virtue. I later regretted it because I really did want to try out elec/elec. But at the time, there was no such thing as buying or earning extra character slots, and I needed room for the new villains I was making.
When extra slots were made available, I decided to remake her. Much to my surprise and delight, the name was still available. I was certain it wouldn't be, but it was! Yay!
But I still haven't gotten her past level 20, because I have so, so many alts. -
Quote:This thread seems to validate all the work the devs did on Going Rogue. A higher percentage of players seem to be reading the mission text in Praetoria.
It truly is an "evil twin" universe, if even the ones who oppose the lawful evil empire are themselves unscrupulous! -
Such a failure to understand such differences has led to a lot of fear and suffering in the real world. And that's where the real evil lies.

Quote:You think an economic system is "evil" because of how one government went about trying to impose it?Soviet, Communist, Nazi, Loyalist - it doesn't really matter what the political framework of the dictatorship is - they're all evil, and for the people being oppressed and murdered because they don't fit into whatever insane system the dictatorship they're trapped in happens to be trying to impose on them, it doens't really make any difference.
By this reckoning, Capitalism is also evil. Your rigid and dogmatic approach to these things is fundamentally dangerous. To be quite honest, more evil has come out of that than anything else. It's a shame you don't see it; it could be your undoing. -
Quote:I think you mean "Soviet" and not "Communist".Yeah - although there are a lot of Nazi aspects to the loyalists, the propaganda posters and personality cult stuff seems more Communist in their art style - which is a good move, so that they don't make the dictatorship seem too much like any single RL one, and make it a blend of RL ones instead, with some sc-fi evil like thought police thown in too.
Those are two different things. -

Quote:I couldn't log in my character in Atlas Park, which I was playing when I got logged out from a mapserver.Ditto. I can log in characters NOT in the D, but not the ones in the D itself.
I was able to a bit later, but the zone was totally unstable. I wasn't able to log in any other characters either, as the server seemed to take too long to respond. -
Quote:I forgot to mention that I kind of imagined this working from the tailor interface, where you can customize the color of most powers.Let's expand on that! How about alternative animations for certain powers across certain sets and pools that are more in tune with a character's origin? Not that you'd be locked in or out of any particular animations based on the character's origin, mind you; but you'd be able to choose them for yourself. So you could still take a 'magic based' animation for aid other even if your hero or villain is tech based.
What came to my mind immediately after making this post was being able to customize the look of the robots in the Robots primary power for MasterMinds. The default look is good for tech and natural origins, but not so fine otherwise. A good magic based look might be a 'Stone Golem' appearance (stone golems that shoot lasers? hum...). You could also have a steam-punky clockwork look as an alt model. Just don't ask me what a mutant option would look like. -
I'd also love the ability to add extra slots to a level 50 character. By one of two ways:
1) Buying an extra slot, or set of slots, as a microtransaction. Like say, you can buy 1 slot, or 2, or 5. To put into a single slotable power. How much do you think an extra slot is worth? A dollar? Ten dollars? Hmm.
2) A recipe that can only drop from level 50+ foes and can only be used (with the correct salvage) by a level 50 character at an Invention table, that gives that character one bonus slot that can be added to any slotable power they have. -

Quote:I have a friend who does that and I find it infuriating. He's also prone to having his character suddenly stop and stand there for ages, and then suddenly have a wall-of-text word balloon floating over his character's head because he's stopped everything just to say something. He does this even in the thick of battle.Furthermore, even today, I see plenty of people do the "slow turn." What I mean by this is a person will run up to a dead end, realise it, then slooowly turn around in place before running back. I know how slowly characters turn with Q and E, and I can spot it from a mile away. How do these people use Super Speed at all?
I, on the other hand, will usually start running backward while turning my character a quick 180 degrees with the mouse, and fluidly start running forward when the character has turned. Though I have no idea how this looks to other players, it gets me out of tight stops very quickly! -
Quote:Wrong, sir!A movie isn't better just because it's faithful to the source. Someone could make a more faithful version of Wizard of Oz, but I doubt it will be as good as the 1939 classic. Kubrick's The Shining was much better and more interesting than the faithful TV version.
You get nothing!!!
YOU LOSE!!!
Good day, sir! -
Quote:Well maybe next time you can actually ask for clarification first, before you start with the mocking beratements. I'm not even guilty of believing the things you insinuated that I was, so to top it all off, I'm not the droid you're looking for.Your guess made no sense, which is why I asked you to explain the reasoning. Several times.
I mean, maybe it's me, but I kinda think a question like, "Do you really think manipulating some common salvage is worth it?" (to which I would have replied, "Well no, I don't, but maybe someone else does?") will yield a more friendly result than "But, y'know, keep worrying about a shadowy cabal of eebil geniuses out there breaking their backs for a, what, 500k profit per slot?" -
Quote:I've already said several times that I was trying to guess what they were doing. Then why surmise that some person or persons were manipulating AlSil to fund their lowbies, as you did earlier in the thread?
Quote:No, but it's hard to get anywhere with someone who answers clear, direct questions with insults and gibberish.
In case you weren't certain about it, I can't read minds. So I have no idea why someone is playing with Alchemical Silver (in case you didn't read it the first half dozen times I've written those words on this thread; please try to keep your eyes open when you're looking at my replies, thanks!). Maybe they think manipulating is better? Who knows? But that's all I've got.
But actually, I don't really care anymore. You've managed to totally derail this thread. You can go take a long walk off a short pier for all I care, now. -
Quote:I DON'T!!!PLEASE EXPLAIN WHY YOU THINK MANIPULATING COMMON SALVAGE MAKES MORE SENSE THAN JUST EMAILING YOUR LOWBIES SOME INF.
Let me put it to you in plain English, since you seem to have a problem with that today: I don't think, nor did I ever say that I think that manipulating common salvage makes more sense than just emailing your low level characters some influence.
Are you being intentionally this obtuse or are you really itching for a fight for no reason? I just said that because I have absolutely no idea why it's happening.
If you still don't get it after this then you're just totally hopeless. -
Personally, I think Nethergoat just loves to start a fuss for absolutely no reason at all, and pull arguments out of thin air. For why? Just to have something to do, I guess. If he got any better at it, I'd say he should get a job at Fox News.
