Sadly, still not hard enough.

Hmmmm ... yes, not hard enough.
LOL!
Um, have you completed it? -

Then, sometime in the future, you can have a Pocket D contact give out a combined hero and villian Hamidon Raid as a special event.
[/ QUOTE ]
I kinda like this idea
[/ QUOTE ]
This probably won't ever happen. There are already enough problems with dozens of Heroes gathered at the bottom of Hami's nucleus. Add dozens of villains and all you'll get is Hive 2 and lots of lag.
Besides, Villains don't need Hami anymore. They just need Corruptors ... you know ... specific ones to complete the LRSF.
Or so it would seem.
[/ QUOTE ]
For now. Once the AV Regen gets rolled back to 20% of the buff, I would imagine that you'll only need 3 or 4 Corruptors to complete it
Still, I look forward to more Hero/Villain team ups in Pocket D. -
Dratz to all involved.
Re : Team Compostition : Look at the Ice Corruptors
Looks like I'd best prioritize my Ice/Dark for leveling. -

Just added this patch note to PvP section:
Being defeated in a PvP zone will carry debt if any of the damage to you was caused by NPCs. The amount of debt is directly proportional to the amount of damage you took from NPCs vs. how much was done by opposing Player Characters. The more damage dealt to you by NPCs means more debt when you are defeated.
* This means that you can no longer “escape debt” by being defeated by a PC after taking massive damage from NPCs, nor will you be penalized with a massive amount of debt if you are defeated by an NPC after taking a huge amount of damage from a PC.
[/ QUOTE ]
Why is there Debt in PvP zones at all? -

How do these changes increase the risk getting a HO requires, for all those people who pop into the hive when their friends tell them he is held? The number of people who do this is not insubstanial.
Seems to me, the people who do the actual work and want to contribute are the ones getting shafted because of the mito targetting changes. Why dont the dev's figure out how to give the super leeches their share of the risk and time commitment before they start punishing those willing to play the game and put themselves at risk for a Hami-O.

So - here it is.
Added to the patch notes:
The Hamidon has been increased in difficulty. It is now capable of using one of its attack powers even when Held, Slept, or Stunned.
Evidently Hammy got a laser beam on it's head a long time ago but just now figured out how to use it.
The Mitos are AVs and are acting according to this patch note:
AVs/Heroes and Giant Monsters now ignore threat level damage multipliers for different Archetypes. They are still affected by Taunt as before.
As for the drops? Bug.

[ QUOTE ]
Be they bugs or intended, is this really a problem?
I think it would be great... nay, superb if Hamidon's AI and the strategies needed to defeat him/it were rendered obsolete every issue or two. As it stands now (err, as of I6 anyway), Hamidon is a joke. It's so boring to do. It's the same thing over and over and over. Revamping the encounter will keep it interesting. It should be done more often!
[/ QUOTE ]
I wholeheartedly agree that revamping the encounter every issue or two is just what needs doing and honestly, with the Recluse Strike Force being implemented as it is, I fully expect a change.
But, none of this was documented. Which leaves us to wonder if it's a bug. It couldn't reasonably be a 'Stealth' change as so many folks who know the game so well are bound to notice, as we have.
The most probable explanation is that something is bugged and/or some new AV/GM code did indeed get introduced to the Hamidon Encounter.
Either way, I think the players would like to know. -
Last night, Pinnacle ran it's second raid on Hamidon since Issue 7 was patched to the Live servers. While both raids were successful, it was readily apparent that the rules as we had known them prior to Issue 7 had changed.
Items that were noted to be different :
<ul type="square">
-Aggro Team (Tankers and Illusionists) had a much harder time holding Aggro on Hamidon and the Mitos. We went through two full wipes before getting more back-up and making a successful third attempt.
-Hamidon is now able to attack even while held. The aggro team was taking damage from Hami until it was defeated.
-Enhancement Drops are not working as before. Many people reported not receiving a Hamidon Enhancement from Sunday night's raid. Last night, an informal poll over Broadcast regarding SO Enhancement drops yielded a lack of SO drops from Mitos. Salvage was still received.[/list]
Allegedly, there was a patch note that may have had some indication of impact with regard to Aggro rules but I haven't been able to locate it.
My questions for fellow raiders : What differences have you noticed in the Hamidon Encounter since last week? Have you had a successful raid since Issue 7 was released?
My question for the developers : Where are the Patch Notes for the changes to the Hamidon? If there are no Patch Notes, are we to assume that these changes are in fact bugs? -

Healing Flames isn't the only power that needs to be improved. Fire could use a boost in multiple areas. It is horrible...in PvP. I wasted 39 of my first CoV levels on a dark/fire brute.
[/ QUOTE ]
Ironic because Dark/Fire levels very quickly. With an endurance drain power in primary and secondary you've got almost no downtime. I believe the first Brute to 40 was Dark/Fire.

[/ QUOTE ]
Indeed. My DM/FA Brute made level 40 inside of a month with 180 hours of play time. It's a great combination. It sounds like the poster was complaining about PvP which, for lack of a better term, sucks. -

It apears to be a second and a half. Deffinitly help... But its still 17%, which is really beggining to piss me off.
[/ QUOTE ]
Agreed. I've PM'd Cuppa and Castle about it and am just asking for a straight up answer : "Are we going to see a fix for the base heal value of Healing Flames or not?"
EDIT : Per a PM from Castle, I believe there are further changes forthcoming. Do not deluge Castle with PM's. -

Yeah, but who carefully scans their iconbar after every fight?
The text component would help. I still like the idea of putting some smoke effects in front of the camera though.

Hey, if the enemies suddenly disappear and you think something's fishy, take a gander at the bar. If you see something you don't recognise, then right-click to see what it is.
That doesn't seem unreasonable to me. It'd be easier if it blinked and did cartwheels to warn you, sure, but is it really too much to ask for a little presence of mind to spot check it when something's up?

[ QUOTE ]
yeah, but you can't ignore the things they did to Sally to eliminate those concerns. changing the timer to an hour or so, and lowering the badge requirement to 2. That cleared up the competition and camping pretty quickly, because everyone who wanted it was able to be throughput quickly. The same hero that manages to snag 2 contaminated in RV while he's working his 5hr badge (if he's lucky) will still be there in 2-3 weeks trying to get the badge.
When it goes to live, I'm going to try to promote hero cooperation when it comes to this thing. At the very least, every effort should be made to get full teams of 8 in on each kill. If it means tp foe and Hold in a secluded spot until the team is ready, so be it.
[/ QUOTE ]
Those are good points and I wholeheartedly agree on the Hero Co-op that will be needed to get this badge for those of us who want/need it. My SG is already planning some teams that will be focused in RV for this very idea. -
[ QUOTE ]
I think words like insulting and sadistic are a bit overmuch, if this is gonna remain a levelheaded discussion.
The only thing that really bothers me about this method for getting Isolator, is that it flies in the face of one of the main design principles of the game. It's now gonna be a camped spawn from here until the nth of never, and that's something I hoped never to see in this game. Even if it is 'just for a badge'
[/ QUOTE ]
Ya know, when Issue 5 came out and it was known how difficult it would be to get Believer, there was much the same concern. Granted, there are no Villains in Croatoa to camp but for a while, competition was high among Heroes to nab that one shot spawn.
I think this will go the same way. It may take a few months for it to calm down but eventually, there will come a day when that loan spawn is just wandering around with no one to kill it. -

I don't believe that defeats in PvE, or the lack thereof, denote a "Great Player" in any sense. Defeats happen, usually as a result the actions of a teammate. I admit that I get defeated less when I'm solo because I know the capabilities of my characters but that being said, I still get defeated just as anyone else should on the road to 40+
The benchmark is fine as it is and most people will earn Deathless in the normal course of play.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'll just butt in here for a second and say that 1 of my 50's still has not earned the 3rd debt badge. She participates in Hami Raids, and teams a lot. I guess that comes from being an Empath.
[/ QUOTE ]
Indeed. Empaths suffer defeat infrequently. My main is a Blaster and had already qualified for Deathless when it was introduced into the game.

[ QUOTE ]
That's fine. The rest of my post still holds. Defeats in the game are supposed to occur as is the debt that comes with it. To not expect to have any defeats is unrealistic and the tying of a +Health Accolade to an Epic Debt Badge to ensure that it is earned by the 40+ crowd makes sense and is perfectly acceptable IMHO.
[/ QUOTE ]
To say I don't expect to die occasionally wouldn't be true, because I do expect to die periodically. Heck, my villain main has died 3 times on test this week just from working on the Black Scorpion arc (darn Malta anyway...). That said, at level 40 the character has only the first two debt badges. At my rate of play, there is simply no way I will get the 4th debt badge unless I intentionally off myself repeatedly. My level 50 hero main that was created on week 1 of CoH live, and who still gets played more than any other character (including quite a few Hamidon raids), STILL does not have the 4th debt badge. I don't say that to gloat, just to point out that there is not realistic way that I'm going to get this thing in the course of normal gameplay.
While it may be true that perma debt has its advantages in the form of amassing more influence/infamy as you level up, it does have the additional major drawback of making it take much longer to reach high level. Also, as a gamer who at least tries to play well and avoid death in the games I play, the idea that I should repeatedly and (in the case of most of my characters, at least) purposefully lose in order to reap a tangible benefit is somewhat insulting.
[/ QUOTE ]
Out of curiosity, what is your main Villain's Archetype?
I believe that certain AT's will have a harder time achieving this badge than others for some obvious reasons. -

It has become apparent that Deathless, the 4th debt badge, is required for the High Pain Threshhold accolade.
Please don't do this. Some of us actually try NOT to die in this game

Sucky though it may be, I have to point out one thing, Deathless isn't for Debt. It is for number of deaths.
I'd be damn impressed if you've dodged that one all the way through the game.

here.
Most badge guides says Exaulted is 500 deaths, but it's really 10 million debt, straight from the powers-that-be.
Deathless and Undying are similar, though my limited search talents can't find the post that said that more plainly than the one I quoted, and I really don't want to spend any more time on this. I know for a fact I got Deahtless on an Alt last week who was alive and fighting at the time it was awarded.
