well some good news. Looks like they sent the mousepad 2-day air and it's supposedly on a delivery truck to my house. So should have all my goodies at last today. Still, there was definitely some kind of screw-up somewhere for them to not get the game and all it's preorder goodness together in one shipment.
Canned response from Gamestop. No response from NCsoft (long shot, wasn't expectin' much as they're not primarily responsible for this problem). -

It's not a Windows 7 problem. It happens to me randomly on XP also.
I just kill the updater through the task manager and relaunch it. Goes through fine then. -
