Makes sense, I would think under the statue would be good unless it's "night" then inside City hall works too.

Hello... hello... hello is there anybody in there?
Yeah the song came up when I hit random play on my vast .mp3
collection but I am wondering if anyone is doing anything with this thread???
I'm really surprised with how many artists there are here that so many seem to ignore this...
is it too much effort? Will it take away from your other arts? Don't have 5-10 mins to spare? Don't have a pencil? What is it?
-
1.What interrupts me? The internet in general, looking at other art, building custom computers (it pays the bills
though so whatcha gonna do?) maintaining my two art threads and posting to the boards in general, a hot date
(or flurry of dating activity... it seems that when it rains it does in fact pour... then it's a drought lol)
City of Heroes, and more recently playing an old favorite Heroes of Might and Magic 3 (the Wrath of
the Gods expansion made entirely by fans of the game).
2. What gets me in the mood? Candlelight, some Barry White...
oh wait in the mood for art??? ummm right, ahem.
Ironically that would be maintaining my two art threads, reading and posting to the art forums,
looking at other art (everything from classical impressionist paintings to a quick tour of DA).
The same things that can distract me.
Good tunes, like when Ennvee DJ's every Tuesday on Radio FTW (shameless plug), or the right
song can sometimes inspire me to create too, and of course, playing City of Heroes.
3. Well the numbers you give seem to suggest as one goes up the other goes down which I don't
necessarily agree with... I'm going to go with 80% dedication and 60% or better skill.
Kinda arbitrary though.

And here is an update (including the earring work) to the third face.
-
Maybe they do and I'm doing things backwards lol. I don't really follow any kind of
pattern or rules when I create I just do things in the order that they occur to me
(although more recently I find myself planning out sketches like with the Hot Pencil thread
and such).
Np buddy, portraits are all about the little details.
The earrings are indeed different but they are all rings, gold earrings in the left (though they are
hidden from view) and center poses and silver for the right side (I believe that is her
confirmation dress and not communion but then I tend to get the
fu-fu superstitious rituals mixed up sometimes lol) pose.
The silver one appears to be a wider band though... here is a closeup for ya.

Quote:Lazarus, even though you quoted it directly methinks you completely missed my terrible pun ahahahah. No, I've always used the red background since CoV launched. It's much easier on my eyes than the obnoxious bright blue background was.
And Scooter just quote someone with colored text and you can easily see the syntax needed.
VexXxa, yes I remember going round and round with you about the orange text and how much you secretly adore it but
I forgot you don't want that to be public knowledge... no worries your secret is safe with meh.
BW/FD/JQ, your stuff is still like awesome since the last time I checked.

For the category of "Flight" I submit
------ Zoom Zoom Zoom -------
Like my 30 second war wall?
New category: Dual Wielding

Quote:Makes my posts easy to find though doesn't it.Speaking of... what's up with the orange text?
(No, I didn't neg rep you. Just find it visually jarring)
Quote:I'll second that, it just makes his posts harder to read on the red background.
(fyi just click-drag over my posts and they should be easily visible)
Besides, I thought I heard tell that you had already crossed over and come back from the red once?
Quote:I think I've seen that color orange once before.
Rock on BW!I thought I was the only one who remembered The Last Dragon, heh what a great 80's movie.
So there you have it, my text matches my avatar... which apparently has the power of the glow.
...I need to go make a MA hero called "Bruce Leeroy... Jenkins"
Plus VexXxa is always telling me how much she loves that orange text...
I'm sure she would be crushed if I were ever to change it.

Quote:If your talking about being able to take a screenie with 8 of your multipliers, you don't need 8I could have had a full team of eight Evil Multipliers...If only I had the cash for that many accounts, and a machine capable of running them o.0
computers or 8 instances of the game running to get that effect...

Hey BW don't let the words of anonymous cowards get you down.
I got -rep bombed too (for the International Talk Like a Pirate Day thing). Some people totally
got what I was doing and others seem humour deficient... I've even gotten -rep for posting
up pics of my gaming computer that I built (cuz building custom computers is like what I do for a
living and stuffz) and the specs of my monitor... no really... not making it up. I even got one for having
orange text... seriously how petty can you get.
I went ahead and made a thread at the time called Dear Anonymous and I posted what they had
said to me for all to see plus my response and invited any of them to "man up" (or woman up) and PM
me directly if they have a problem with anything I've said, no takers yet, but funnily enough my rep
went up again lol go figure. Never actually got to see it go red but alas
Don't worry though I already got your back with the +rep.
P.S. I for one have no problem with the title of this thread. Seriously who puts in weeks of work asking
for and organizing pics, ideas and concepts from people in the community for a task of this magnitude
to NOT get paid for it?
You didn't mention a price in your title or break any other rules that I know of so it's fair game I say.
A title is just a title... plus it makes it really easy to find this thread.
P.P.S. Love the new sketches especially the half/half one of Vex

You are more then welcome to take a crack at any of these shots of Chloe Macomber and
Xllusya (brief in-game desciptions included)... although there are more than a few "impossible"
things happening in some of the images already.
Edit: Just noticed that the "thumbnail" choice Photobucket gives lamely points to the small
version of the image so you have to click them again once your on pb's site to see the larger size.

For the category of Malta I submit:
------- You know it's gonna be a bad day when --------
New category: Your first hero/heroine!
P.S. What happened to Crestent and Cashoo?

Quote:Schoolhouse Rock was better yo'I tuned in but I'm probably off the comp soon
Anyways, I was hoping for a 10 song string of classic Seseme Street tunes... C is for Cookie, Rebel L, that kind of thing.
Conjunction junction, what's your function!
I'm just a bill yeah I'm only a bill... lol
Of course Sesame Street did have that one X-rated song going for it...
don't believe me? ---> The Song of the Count

I'm liking all the entrants here, so tough choice.
After seeing his Westin Phips in the FArt contest I think the Foo
would do a hilarious Lounge Crooner scene.
1st: Lounge Crooner and Fenian Girl
The second choice was tough and was pretty much a 3way tie
between VexXxa, Pyro and Ennvee... while I really like the look
of VexXxa I just don't see a Hero killing Statesman... even though
he can be a real jerk. Maybe post "Going Rogue" it would work.
Pyro's concept intrigues, can't really go wrong with a
chick-fight/spankfest, but I'm not sure that's really the Foo's strong
suit (awaits snappy retort from the Foo about his expertise in such matters)
sooo I'm going with Ennvee because the costume is cool and the concept, of
one hero protecting another, one angelic looking, one demonic, light and dark
etc etc, has a lot of potential.
2nd: Trinity Jaded and Caemgen
Good luck to all.
-
Ya was still happening... we just wrapped up now. I triumphantly won the last race...
(pyro was a split second ahead as we crossed the bridge with Julius but Pyro got stuck on a tree and ate a
mage blast in the back) ...but I totally got pwned in the sewers lol
The costumes were all pretty cool.
Good test run, only thing that seemed in question was does it count
if you make it to the finishline in the last race but die as you cross it?
Oath reached the finish line (body inside the fence) the first round but a
DoT attack from a mage killed him.
Should it count?
-
Hahah the theme song to speed racer is playing as we do sewer runs... classic ahahhaha.
-
Quote:Well everyone will die in the 2nd event... it's just a question of how far you can fling your corpse down the tunnel!Oh my goodness, this sounds like such a blast!
I'm terrible with control on my little arrow keys and my lack of right click on my dinky Mac laptop, but I'll just join in for the fun! I'll be the first to die
Are macs any good at that?
** polite goodnatured elbow at mac's for the week**

Attention gotten. lol
***tunes in***
Sidenote: For those of you that use Firefox (as do I) don't let a no FF option stop you from tuning in...
there is a great addon you can dowload, takes like 20 seconds, called "IE tab" that lets you view stuff
made for internet explorer without leaving firefox.
Tools > Add-ons > Get Add-ons > type "IE tab" in the search without the " > click add to firefox >
restart your browser.
Don't worry it will open with all your pages and history intact and you won't lose your tabs currently open.
Now just click the FTW button in Ennvee's sig and you can click the
blue "e" under tune in and click the play button in the little mini window that opens.
It may work fine without IE tab too (try it first) but If it wont play in ff for some reason now
there's no reason you can't jump in on the stream too.

All kidding around aside for a moment I just wanted to say thanks for posting
up your thoughts and experiences on that flurry of commissions.
If nothing else it should give new people unsure of what to expect some perspective (that makes
it useful right there) additionally you raise several good points that should be open for discussion
but haven't been brought up in a while so kudos for that.
I do have some thoughts on the subject that I'll post up later but for now... they extended
2x XP another day yo.
Edit: Also it's not entirely true that you have 12 pieces in the pipeline and nothing completed yet... you do
have one finished piece (though it isn't full length or in color).

Can't believe no one has said anything about this yet... darn double XP lol.
Nice new art there TA I especially like the way the cape is splayed out and the metalwork he did on the grills and spikes.
Gratz on gettin yo' art fix for the week lol.

Ok, while I do appreciate the open discussion and expression of ideas in my thread (so thank you
all for speaking up and keep it coming) and even debate (as long as it doesn't get too carried away
), it's time for
more artand on the salient note of finger smudging I was asked at what point I did the pencils,
before or after ink? So in an attempt to show that here is a shot of the 3rd face with just a few ink
indicator lines and the shading down... it's pretty early in the process for me in this case.
F.Y.I. The left eye and ear detailing were done after the pencils...
