  1. Any idea what kind of time you're be calling it a night, would like to give this a go as I've never tried a SSTF before, but I have work starting at 9am, so can't stay too late (midnight/1am at the latest).

Would be a dark/dark defender (level 50), so you may want someone else anyway?
  2. Later is fine with me. I could probably use a good lie in then too. An hour later perhaps?
  3. Nurofem is quite high level comparativly (level 14), can bring out my level 4 will/ss tanker if preferred, although I'm fine with exemping. Don't have the slots for a new toon surprisingly.
  4. Saturday morning is good for me Cap, if it's high level stuff I'd prefer to bring Chisel, although 2 dark defenders may be overkill, so can bring a lowbie along for variety (probably Nurofem (Emp/Psi) or Bliss (squid)).
  5. Ello Cap,

FYI when I get on to play it's mostly between 8 and 12pm UK time weekdays, and can be any time during weekends if I'm not busy. Weekends is probably better for any kind of long TF because there's not much chance of me staying on past midnight these days.
  6. Hey Blizz, or anyone else for that matter, if you've got a 360 I'm on Live! as Chisnet. Add me and you can have a go at kicking my [censored] at a game some time, I generally sucks at 360 Live! games, I much prefer my PC.
  7. Happy Birthday Blizz!

Will hopefully be back in CoH a bit more in a week or so, been a little busy with a Garrys Mod addiction at the moment, been making all kinds of crazy things, and several otehr games have distracted me as well, still subbed though. Also been sneakily playing with a few low level character concepts, mostly short-lived comedy ones.
  8. Welcome back Capt, if you need salvage for 5th costumes there should be some I put in the salvage racks still there, and I think Chels put some in there as well.

As for the GMs it took me 2 hours of straight GM hunting to get Jack, Eochai is easy, got about 15 kills on him and only 1 jack in that time. Good luck! I'll be on tonight probably if you need GM hunting assistance.
  9. I have certain ways I pick my anchor with my dark defender, and while they still tend to fall before the whole group is dead I tend to find that the group is small enough that I don't need to bother reapplying by then. I did try calling out for a while, but often that made it worse, as people just saw the name and actually attacked it more, apparently not always understanding what I was saying.

Generally it its an AoE focused team I will stick it on the furthest boss back, as he'll most likely surive the longest, or long enough. If theres alot more melee I'll stick with a lieutenant near the back instead. If people seem to ignore this you can usually get a reaonable idea of the players tactics, or common attack patterns after a while in a group and find a better anchor. Locking them down does help as well, as most people at least, seem to leave lone held targets alone.

Of course theres groups where your anchor always seems to be first to go, especially early on in the game, and I just don't bother applying the debuff in that case, it's there loss really when they die more, or get less xp over time. I left out my anchor debuff until later on anyway, and then respeced back in early at first respec for when I was exemping in the SG.
  10. I'm in with Chisel if you want me. Dark Dark Defender. Tis' the last badge I need for the accolade!!
  11. I'd be interested, but don't finish work til 7 on saturday, so might not be back til 7.45. But if you could put me down as a maybe that'd be great, and if I'm not there and you need to start someone else can take my place?
  12. From my own experience the must/should haves (with my personal slotting suggestions and comments) are:

    [u]Dark Miasma[u]

Darkest Night - 3/4 slotted with acc debuff and combined with some +DEF powers you can avoid a large portion of attacks. Some end reduction helps if you use it as much as I tend to.

Twilight Grasp - 3 slotted with heals, and some acc, recharge of your choosing helps regain health for those attcks which did do damage, and also a great team heal. Also the optional end reduction.

Shadow Fall - Great for its Psionic protection alone, and helps a little with the aformentioned +DEF, but the +RES is far more important, so slot with 3 +RES and probably some end reduction.

Fearsome Stare - Effectively removes minions from any battle, allowing you to concentrate on the lieutenants. Best combined with tar patch to avoid scattering. 2 fear enhancments and a couple of acc make it very effective.

Petryfying Gaze - An awesome hold, very handy for tough lieutenants, and can be stacked to hold bosses, and with a little help AVs. 3 hold enhancements an acc and an end red help make sure that mob stays well and truly held.

Dark Servant - Basically another copy of you that regularly uses holds, immobilizes and heals, he also has a small aura (minor damage, -ACC), but thats hard to get into play.

Tar Patch - While very useful I left this power out myself until around the 40s. It does provide a nice -RES and SLOW on enemies, but with the amount of useful powers in the dark miasma set, along with the essential pool powers and 2 attacks I found it was the one I could wait for longest.

Howling Twilight - The Rez power to have (area of effect), up to personal choice if you take it or not though.

The only real power to avoid is black hole which phase shifts enemies, and so can be more annoying than useful if you've got to wait for enemies to shift back, and Cone/AoE attacks that could hit them are less effective, better to just hold and fear the mobs to the point that they wont attack anyway.

    [u]Dark Blast[u]

I only took 2 powers from this set, partly because theres just so many in miasma that are useful, and partly because I was going for a character that could take, rather than deal damage, and he sure can take damage well. The two I took are:

Dark Blast - Your basic attack, and reasonable damage.

Moonbeam - A very handy snipe for pulling single mobs and helpful in soloing as well, if thats the way you want to go.

Some people tend to take tenebrous tentacles for the immobilize, but I found it wasn't all that necessary, when fluffy (dark servant) has the power anyway and uses it alot, and while it helps with scatter from fear it was an acceptable loss. I did try night fall myself at one point for cone damage, but being a defender means it was generally not worth the cost again for the little damage it offered.

    [u]Pool Powers[u]

To compliemnt my build I went for the standard swift/health/stamina, and hasten powers. But as I mentioned when you combine the -ACC of darkest night with some +DEF you have a great chance to avoid all damage, so I personally took combat jumping (+DEF), super jump (Travel) and acrobatics (for the state resist, which were weak against). I also took all of leadership, again for state resists, the nice damage bonus, accuracy bonus, and the little +DEF.

    Hope this info helps
  13. 1st Sept is the only one of those two I could make, since I'm at the Leeds festival on the weekend of the 25th.
  14. If I'm up early enough I'm sure I can help with the TF, already done it, but no problem doing it again, was good fun the first time I did it.
  15. Oooh, thanks for the new base stuff cap, I shall continue to play purely in SG mode with Chisel when I bring him on. Tables and new teleporters sounds good too, so will try and get some villain bashing done tonight.
  16. Chisel

    Vigilance is fab

Although I don't actively try and use vigilance I do like having it there, as a D3 with nearly all primary, as well as a lot of pool toggles (3 leadership, combat jumping, acrobatics, etc) ii find my self running at a very small negative enduarnce gain in combat with darkest night running and regular heals, so a little injury on my teammates helps level things out for longer battles, for AVs it is especially useful.

Saying that I still think I would prefer a more noticeable effect instead, not for attacking though. What effect that would be though I'm not sure.
  17. Could probably do september, London would be my first choice for venue seeing as I live here, but might be able to travel elsewhere depending on what I'm doing at the time, August is definately out as I'm at Leeds festival, and july I'm still working weekends.
  18. I believe the -regen on TG is as long as the recharge, or very close to, so you can spam it and have it perma, but it does not completely stop regen, just reduces it (50%?), when stacked with transfusion i think it will almost completely stop regen, which is why it worked for us
  19. Yup, he went down suprisingly easy, very well done by all I think, thankyou for the badge, thats the first time I've completed the TF and I've tried 3 times before.
  20. Shall be joining you Cap, logging myself on now to head over to the Crash Site.
  21. I'd like to put my name down for it if I can, although I'd like to bring my 50, Chisel if thats ok. He's a D3 Defender
  22. Only managed to put in about an hour or so as I got there late and had to leave before the end, but was good fun and I managed to get the badge for Ghost Widow that I was missing after the release raid on RV.

Thankyou to my various team members and to Golden Girl who was doing a great job of keeping things organised while I was there, sorry I didn't catch you cap.
  23. Sorry I couldn't make it again, for some reason I thought I'd be able to get up early while this all weekend party at my flat is going on. I was wrong, only just got up now, and then because the people who got to sleep before 4am decided to burst into my room. bah.
  24. Apologies from me as well, only just got in from the meal, frgot how big TGIs meals are and how long they take. Am on now, but don't see anyone on so I guess I'm too late? Will hang around for a bit anyway.
  25. Just so you know I may be a little late, going out for a birthday meal (his not mine) with my flatmate at 8.30, and so don't see me getting back in time for 10 start, but I shall try my best.
