  2. I did do a clean upgrade; it just seems odd that it only *suddenly* started malfunctioning. Though from this information I can see what's so frakked about it. 01/01/0001? :|

  3. CoH has literally suddenly stopped working; when I try to start the game, it says my drivers are out of date. This is a little stupid as I updated my drivers two weeks ago, the ones presently installed are the most recent stable drivers, and the game was working fine up until roughly an hour ago.

Anyone else experience this? Is my videocard just failing now?
  4. I'll admit, I haven't read through the whole thread here, but something struck me today when I finally picked up Paralysing Blast on my Elec Dominator.

The hold animation for that power looks way better than the (if you will excuse my saying) dopey MAGIC ELECTRO SPHERE hold of Tesla Cage. It'd be great if the hold animation of Paralysing Blast were usable with Tesla Cage for those of us who are more interested in overloading a target's nervous system, rather than putting them in enormous scintillating balls.

Sure, it's not a cage, but it's just as tesla as the current animation. = ~=
  5. Talking about myself on the internet? Don't mind if I do!

    This here is Antares Belmoth
    VirtueVerse

The character concept was a chunky faceless demon with no arms or legs that talks awesomely. The power concept was two words: "slow melt", and I gave him earth/fire. He's a dom and I made and loved him before they got buffs, and he's only ever-more fitting his arrogant "I'm th'strongest there is" attitude after the buffs.

His talking is a slapdash of bastardised cockney + Orkspeak + a couple words lifted from the vernacular of The Dark Tower. I love playing him because he hates everything except hitting people, burning people, and taking things. Couple this with the fact that it's really fun to type-talk like he does, at least as far as I'm concerned. It does make it a little difficult to actually RP with him as there's no reason he would be caught dead or alive in Pocket D unless there was something to incinerate/crush and/or steal there, so he's a "while on a team/local"-only character.

He's also only one of two "male" characters I have (though he's technically not really male per se, even with the gender pronoun use), so that's something.
  6. Hgrrhg okay, cor it's been an eternity since I've posted here.

Ultra Mode will be pretty, hopefully. I am also chiming in with the handful of other people for old content revamps and glowy costumes, but I've always been an altoholic so old content revamps are pretty much the most kickin' rad thing as far as I'm concerned.

While I appreciate Jay's fabulous posting style I did think it was a little rude on the level that it soooort of implied that people who were hoping the featured NPC's costume was player-usable were fat basement-dwelling people. Also it did come pretty late, and blah blah blah dearth of GR information people are going to presume blah blah blah etc.

At least, insinuations of fat basement-dwelling were what I gleaned from the bits about the basement and the disused treadmill. I won't even go into what I garnered from the "splat splat splat" bit with that in mind.

Rather on the subject of costumes and revamps and the like, though, part of me wonders if this game can even really hope to "catch up" with more contemporary MMOs as far as graphics are concerned. Sure, the newer things are pretty enough, but... we don't even have faces here. Or asymmetry with costumes, which is useful for some things, glowy bits, lots and lots of costume tidbit slots, and character animation styles.

Honestly, devs, if you want to just kinda steal whatever you can use from The Other Superhero MMO's™ character creator, I live near their building. Something could be... arranged.

That's neither here nor there, though. The best part of Going Rogue for me is that I won't have to really play City of Being Some NPC's Lackey in a Steadily Dwindling Population just because I prefer Dominators, Brutes, and Corruptors. Also, Shiny Mode.

    Moon Hazard Zone

Really nice idea, it seems well planned and thought out as-is...

It would be nice if there were some room for villains on the moon, though. If both heroes and villains had their own anchors there, then some kind of PVP zone could be added... And with giant metal robots coming from Recluse's Victory, then we could enter into a great new era for CoX:

Giant metal robot wars on the moon.
