Thanks to Chisel, we now have a forum of our own.
http://goehforum.homeip.net/index.php
...visit and register as you please.
You may have to send a messege to Chisel first on the forum and he should be able to create the account and activate it.
Many thanks once again Chisel. It's been a long time coming and am very pleased that you've slapped away my laziness and created one for us to use.
Capt Solaris -
Cheers Militis Metus and Co for my first ever SF!
The Beast Beneath the Mountain SF completed in a time of 01:33:26 (obligatory coffee break in between)!
Team (l-f): Sniff [@Chels]; Lazerus Wolf [@Spec]; Flogistons Bane [@Gunny Stoner]; Mr Deadman [me! ...Mr Deadman quite literally throughout the SF]!
Well done and thanks!
Bad Boys (and random bird) Inc! -
Aye pretty much.
I don't know the exact numbers, but gone are the times of Dreck farming that's for sure. Oh yer...that mission is now timed. -
Ooof! Well there we go then. There's a lot for you to read up on.
Think it might be best to look up on Paragon Wiki for those details. Unless someone is able to write up a short on ED, Taunt Caps, IOs and acrobatics! -
You still need Acrobatics...if you're thinking about PvP'ing with him/her, I'd think twice about it. They're nerfing Acrobatics soon.
Because you were around issue 5, then you'll be aware of the Taunt caps and Enhancement Diversification (ED).
IOs have revoloutionised enhancements as you know it.
Erm...can't think of anything else specific about Fire/Fire that's had any big changes since i5. Sure someone else will though. -
Saturday...
I'll be in my SG team from 10:00 until about 12:30'ish.
I should be back around 16:00 depending on a few RL things.
I say even if its only about 3-4 of us we should go ahead with teaming. Possibly even Numina (if we can get the players). -
Well done guys!
Completed in the time of 02:49:21! Not the quickest, but blame that to lots of lag and inane yakking!
Thanks again those who could make it. Will organise another one soon for those still looking for it (Blizz, Chels, Cynic)!
Take that! And Parteh! -
Synapse TF - Thurday 17 April, 19:30
Anyone interested in joining us tonight for the Synapse TF? Most likely ghosting as much as possible for the badge mainly.
Was suppose to put this up earlier, but forgot. :/ Hopefully we'll have a big team for this. Although think we have enough heroes to start this ticking.
1. @Captain Solaris - Phear; Lvl17 Claws / Willpower Scrapper or Aqua Maelstrom; Lvl37 Energy Blasts / Energy Manipulation Blaster
2. @Nightmarer - Creepy guy in a black trench coat; Lvl50 Dark Melee / Dark Armour Scrapper
3. @Kattz - Skyfox; Lvl38 Dual Blades / Regeneration Scrapper
4. @Cyinc* - SchrodingersCat; Lvl50 Radiation Emission / Radiation Blasts Defender
5. @Black Mage - Rhapsody; Lvl50 Illusion Control / Sonic Resonance Controller

doh! forgot to post this outside.
still at work, but i should still be able to make it tonight...should!
nah kidding, i will be there! -
Team Solid managed to do this in a little over two hours during the Omega Sektor event.
Since my blaster doesn't really have much of a purpose (PvE...annoying KB in teams / PvP...KB is shrugged off by a high percentage of PvP'ers) I'll be gimping my Blaster's build for Quick TF purposes (invis other, invis and TP Friend) and be using him purely for TF assistance!
I reckon we can get this TF done under 2hours provided we all want to do it quick. -
Cheers, i've just sent you a PM.
Producing an animation huh? Will most definately look forward to that! -
[ QUOTE ]
Meh i need that on Chels but i suppose spec wants to grind out the last level and a half on our villains.
[/ QUOTE ]
With both Blizzaria and yourself needing this TF, I think re-run will most definately be on the cards.
Think best would be during the weekend to accommodate Blizz's gaming schedule. This weekend could be an option. However after next week Monday, I'll be abroad, but can organise it when I get back...unless you guys do it before then of course! -
Wahey! Finally got a reply!
Glad to hear you're gonna post something for the 47Ties.
In all honesty I didn't expect quick responses to this. There are a number of SGs (well from our coalition list), who've stated an interest and are currently working on it.
I know some of you have already got a SG Spotlight on the main eu.cityofheroes page. Probably a bit dated, but don't mind you guys using them again.
If you're a member of an SG and interested in getting your SG advertised on here, give your SG leader a prod and let them know about this. Would be great to have a large list of SGs from PvE, PvP, RP or all of the above!
As stated, you could either give the origins of the SG a storybook style feel or keep it factual. I went for a storybook style with actual events during GoEH's growth...but the choice is ultimately yours.
[edit] Cheers for your participation also Xemulas! I'd actually pressed reply before you posted yours and have been dithering writing this whilst working at the same time!
[edit] Once we have about 10 or so SGs posting advertisements for their SG, will begin compiling the list. -
Very inspirational soundtrack. I like very mucho. Gets my vote for April Creative Genius.
I can see the video in my head now.
> heroes rising from personal battles
> heroes picking up calls to gether via their transmitters
> heroes being telepathically summoned
> a collage of random hero faces, one after another looking to the skies
> some heroes super speeding/flying/teleporting to a location
> all of whom congregate to a centre focal point
> cut to main hero, points to camera
> camera zooms out to reveal why they have been summoned (Rikti invasion force/Hamidon etc)
> heroes powers up
>...slow motion of all heading into the thick of battle
If only had time to do a movie to accompany it.
Would I be able to get a copy of the track and see if I can come up with anything for it? -

Ahhhhh, good ole Synapse
Think Blizz needs this too

:O Think I'll have to make this a priority, I'm sure we can organise another run for you. Could even do it again this Saturday/Sunday evening if you're available. If not can organise one for another weekend?
As for tonight, the current team is:
1. @Captain Solaris - Phear; Lvl17 Claws / Willpower Scrapper or Aqua Maelstrom; Lvl37 Energy Blasts / Energy Manipulation Blaster
2. @Nightmarer - Creepy guy in a black trench coat; Lvl50 Dark Melee / Dark Armour Scrapper
3. @Kattz - Skyfox; Lvl38 Dual Blades / Regeneration Scrapper
4. @Cyinc* - SchrodingersCat; Lvl50 Radiation Emission / Radiation Blasts Defender
5. @Black Mage - Rhapsody; Lvl50 Illusion Control / Sonic Resonance Controller

Evening guys
Looking to complete the Synapse TF tomorrow evening, Thurday 17 April, 19:30.
Anyone interested in doing this?
Would prefer an SG team, so will post up here first then place an outside post if we're still looking for more people from about 13:00 onwards.
Level 15-20. Unsure who to bring...but will decide once seen the team setup we get.
Many thanks,
Captain Solaris* -

Guild of Extreme Heroes
What is your Supergroups Motto?
"Strength is in Unity"
What are your Supergroups emblem and colours?
Emblem: Star (see screenshot)
Primary: Red
Secondary: White
If your Supergroup has a website and/or message boards, whats the URL?
http://guildofextremeheroes.co.uk
Please list the character names of your Supergroups leaders and/or founders.
Founder: Captain Solaris & number9dream (retired)
Leaders (Past & Present): BLIZZARIA, Captain Solaris, Chels, Chisel, Cynic, Cyrosphere, Gunny Stoner, MaXimillion, number9dream (retired), Spec
How did your Supergroup get started?
*Created a week after EU release.*
Captain Solaris and number9dream had met during a mission within the first couple days of Paragon City's call for aid. A mission that proved successful and a potential freindship grew between the pair. Parting ways for a time, they met once again after joining a band of mercenary heroes. Unfortunely due to apparently not being an active member, they were both omitted.
Briefly assisting the Freelance Peacekeeping Agency, Captain Solaris and number9dream agreed upon creating the The Guild of Extreme Heroes. The Supergroup went from strength to strength enlisting a vast array of worthy heroes, that would also later include the successful Synapse Ops Team which both Captain Solaris and number9dream were a part of. This team included the illustrious names of BLIZZARIA, Deus Bellator (retired), Ekallo (retired), MOLEY (retired) and Toshi (retired).
Shortly after the creation of the GoEH, the mysteriously dark lone wanderer, Spectre (now Spec) and the youthful enthusiasm of AlexB (now Illusionist), were added to the ranks of heroes.
In time the GoEH enlisted the brilliant, yet somewhat disturbed mind of MaXimillion and orphaning the lost, but potentially powerful SchrodingersCat (now Cynic).
Due to their previous association with the Freelance Peacekeeping Agency, a special friendship was formed with them and her leader, the exultant Mr D. Bringer. But due to the FPA's spiralling debt their members merged with the GoEH. Thus the GoEH was blessed with talents of Gunny Stoner, Cyrosphere, Chisel and the sharp-tongued, but well meaning Chelsea Rorec (now Chels).
With the disappearance of number9dream, the structure of the Supergroup evolved with Captain Solaris & the sultry, ice-cool temptress, BLIZZARIA, taking the reigns of a proud yet humble group of marvellous heroes.
In time the GoEH would further evovled into a tight unit of core heroes, from this a council was formed which to this day holds firm and true.
What is the overall goal or aim of your Supergroup?
Initially created by Captain Solaris & number9dream with the intentions to provide assistance and aid those in need.
Over the years, the GoEH's members have displayed acts of friendship and consideration, sometimes sacrificing their own gains in order to helping other people.
With time, new and fresh supergroups will always emerge. The GoEH have adapted with the changes and are as solid as they were 3 years ago.
What does your Supergroup do?
The GoEH has never been the most active of supergroups, however with a good bunch of core members we currently hold weekend meets with all SG members welcome to participate.
Predominantly PvE, however we have held SG vs SG events in the past.
In conjunction with events, the GoEH have held numerous successful community events that include Hide & Seek Competitions / Superhero Lookalike & Costume Competitions / GM Hunts / RV Events.
What is your Supergroups finest moment or greatest achievement so far?
The Supergroups greatest achievement is having stood the test of time. This is solely due to the loyalty her core members have shown through the years.
The understanding member's have shown to differences in people and the game in geenral have helped members overcome difficulties within and even outside of the GoEH.
If your Supergroup has a base, please tell us about it.
The SG base if forvever growing...
Despite not Raid ready, it contains a vast amount of tools and options that would make life easier to the everyday hero. Includes the following:
- Medi Bay
- Workshop (Tech): Basic / Advanced / Expert / Invention
- Workshop (Magic): Basic / Advanded
- Storage: Inspirations x4 / Enhancements x3 / Salvage x4 / Invention Salvage x1
- Teleporters: Atlas Park / Galaxy City / Kings Row / The Hollows / Perez Park / Skyway / Faultline / Steel Canyon / Independence Port / Terra Volta / Talos Island / Dark Astoria / Brickstown / Creys Folly / Founders Falls / Peregrine Isle
Are you colaitioned with any other Super Groups?
Academy of Extreme Heroes - GoEH's own Academy also open for recruits
Elfling Liberty Force - One of our newest and relatively insane coalition buddies.
Femme Fatales - Old School SG, brimming with tasty female heroines
47 Ties - One of the largest SGs on Defiant spanning across over to Villains
Innercircle - Old School SG, tight knit and fun loving SG
Karma Police - One of the largest SGs on Defiant, a number members housing some of their alts in GoEH
Knights of the City - One of the largest SGs on Defiant, fun bunch of individuals
MILITIS METUS - Our sister Villain SG ran by our very own @Spec and @Chels
Order of the Cruciform Swords - Old School SG, running just as long as the GoEH.
Pretenders, The - Good set up of heroes that have been around for sometime.
What are your Supergroups plans for the future?
With the evermore expanding number of heroes on our roster, the SG has it's own Academy (Academy of Extreme Heroes) and in time may expand to other servers.
Once the base is ready, we would be happy to consider Raids and SG vs. SG.
More community events will follow also.
If your Supergroup is open to new recruits, please provide details of how a player can go about applying for membership.
We are definately a relaxed supergroup of various ages and interests.
If you are interested in joining or even re-joining the GoEH, please feel free to send an in-game tell to any of our leaders...

Message to all Defiant Supergroups.
Proposal...
I'd like to create a thread that we can sticky on "Defiant - Heroes".
It will be a list of links to all supergroups within Defiant.
So if you'd like to advertise your SG, do the following steps:
1. Create a thread named.... SG Spot: [SG NAME HERE]
2. Use the Post Icon: Ribbon to identify the post also.
3. Information on the thread will be in the format as the Super Group Spotlight
Therefore will have the following fields:
Supergroup Spotlight Submissions
Please answer all questions and include all the requested information in your submissions. Go into as much (or as little) detail as you like.
Notes about some questions are included in italics please remember that these are only suggestions, not requirements.
[LIST=1][*]What is the name of your Supergroup?
[*]What is your Supergroups Motto?
[*]What are your Supergroups emblem and colours?
You can either describe them, or include screenshots to show them.
[*]If your Supergroup has a website and/or message boards, whats the URL?
[*]Please list the character names of your Supergroups leaders and/or founders.
You can also include details of your current membership if you like.
[*]How did your Supergroup get started?
As with most of the following questions, weve left this as open as possible. You could supply a full history of your SG or a simple story of how you and a few people met on a mission and decided you got on well enough to form an SG.
[*]What is the overall goal or aim of your Supergroup?
This could be a single line mission statement, a fully developed in-game reason for your SGs existence, complete with backstory, or as simple as to have fun playing the game with friends.
[*]What does your Supergroup do?
This is probably the most open question of the lot, and is your chance to tell us and your fellow players whatever you want about your Supergroup and how it functions. Do you run regular Task Force nights for members? How is your Supergroup organised, and what is expected of members? Do you arrange in-game or out-of-game events? Anything and everything your SG does can be mentioned here.
[*]What is your Supergroups finest moment or greatest achievement so far?
This could be the time you all got together for a night out in real life, the time you organised a Hami raid, the best mission you ran in a Supergroup team or anything else that sticks in your mind or has become legendary among your SG members.
[*]If your Supergroup has a base, please tell us about it.
Again, this could be the in-character story of how your SG found an abandoned office building and slowly developed it into a fully-functional, top of the line headquarters, a description of your existing base and/or your plans for the future, or anything else about your base that youd like to tell your fellow players about.
[*]Tell us about your coalitions
who is your SG coalitioned with. How you came to be coalitioned or the history with other SGs perhaps.
[*]What are your Supergroups plans for the future?
Another open question, which you can answer in any way you want, whether in-character or as a player.
[*]If your Supergroup is open to new recruits, please provide details of how a player can go about applying for membership.
Please include details of emails, URLs, Global Chat handles and the like, as necessary.
Once that is made and posted on "Defiant - Heroes", I will then go about linking it to the Super Group Listings thread.
I am to post a thread for the SG i'm in, The Guild of Extreme Heroes which you can use as an example.
Good luck and hopefully we'll see this list grow once it's up and running!
Regards
Captain Solaris -
Ahh that's o k then! Never seen the animation for Crowd Control. For some funny reason I was thinking of them smashing the mace to the ground cruasing a tremor of some sort. Think I'm mixing a number of powers into one!
-
Currently I have two tanks. Each I've had a lot of fun with so far.
From a personal point of view...
My tanks...
My Invulnerability tanker is my Superman concept character (with additional powersets according to his bio). Becuase the look of the set doesn't hinder with the look of your character it is probably my favourite out of the tanker primaries.
He's a fantastic scranker despite only taking 3 real attacks from the SS Pool (Haymaker, Knockout Blow and Footstomp).
The Invul powerset, although not THE strongest armour, is a renaissance tank and will always usually be one of the favourites for various TFs, Trials and missions (subject to arguement: stone...too slow ; ice or fire...survivability lacking; WP...doesn't hold aggro as well ...etc etc)
My Ice tanker is fantastic for survivability...but only when with the right(/experienced) team!
This is one hell of an aggro magnet. A totally different style of play compared to my Invul tanker, but equally as fun.
Our SG team has both Ice (aggro magnet) and WP (survivability) tanker and with the right communication they're able to compliment each others build during missions making it very, VERY safe for all involved in the team.
Other sets tried but didn't last...
Stone is just too ugly for me and it's hard for your character to show when incased in the very generic granite armour.
Fire is something that I've always contemplated merely for it's offensive purposes.
Not yet tried as a tank...
Willpower...I've not had much interaction with playing this set (apart from a lvl17 scrapper tht I don't regularly play). I already have a Regen scrapper that works in the same principle. Probably something to consider a bit later.
[edit] Scarey...each post was made an hour from each other ^__^ -
Oh yes...also with Hover, you might not be able to pull off your AoE attack (Crowd Control?). With my Super Srength tanker you need to be on the ground to perform Footstomp (funnily enough! ^__^ ).
-
Was good to get the SG team out last weekend. Almost managed to get 2lvls in that run (just a couple bars shy of lvl30).
Provided we're all present for this Saturday, would like to get another run going in the morning again.
Saturday 19 April, 10:00AM BST onwards. -
Huzzah!
Late night SG TF:Positron completed in a time of 02:35:36!
Power of Three! (L-R: Magnus Ridolph <@Nightmarer>; Xander Stormwind <@Captain Solaris>; Skyfox <@Kattz>
Well done and thank you for some late night TF'ing!
Don't worry, Night and me wil be up for tomorrow's SG Team Up for sure!
ps: Kattz...I dedicate our victory to your mum! XD -
I like the concept. I've always wanted to work in Presence on my Inv/SS Tanker. Especially due to foes being rooted to the spot as opposed to them running away as it was in the past.
It's only my opinion, but if you're going for the Flash Gordon inspired winged hero, maybe the laser beam eyes are a little out of character?
Alternatives:
Hurdle for complete manueverability (spelling?) around the map and his heightened fitness as their species are supposedly tougher/nimle than the average human.
Hover offers the same +Def as Combat Jump, so could be considered if going for a bit more +Def.
