Something's been eating at me since I read about that "Find the Last glowie" "feature"..
My only reasoning I can see DOING this means a harder mechanic is going to be implemented o.@ The main reason for hiding / randomizing clickies (Which is the only reason you can't find them right away, if they were static we'd /we do find them immediately from memory) is a method of time sinking and maintaining your userbase.
I must admit I've had to turn up my sound to find the clickies. But I was ok with that in the end, I knew how to tackle it.
What could they possibly be doing to make the length of completion on tasks longer? o.@
The same idea stems from making the level 20-Epic change. That was, if I understand the ideology correctly, a way of guaranteeing at least one full play through from "x" customers, which at the time were classified as "average-casual" ensuring at least two extra months of work. (granted now to get to fifty it takes what, a week of concentration?). If THAT is nowextinct, what will they be doing to help keep our interest / interest the fresh people just coming in?
Ultra mode is nice
The email change is a very inventive way to quell those complaining about gold spammers. o.0 My only issue is that with ever combative move the devs make, the spammers evolve and mutate around it. o.@
All in all some main concerns, but I'm excited still.

Way to go BT

Just popping in to see if we're still arguing :P
Also, CO gave us a drop off, but You'll notice their servers are mostly free of people, RPers for sure o.0 (Last I saw anyway) the game is made to be solo 1-40, and they JUST recently (I'm told) Fixed the mechanics to make teaming not anti productive :P
CO took some of us, then we went, WTH? and came back after making up an excuse :P Then some of them went to STO and are still kinda wondering if it's worth it. We'll see a drop off there too.
It's the old idea that EVERYONE stops going to the old bar when the new one opens, aside from the grizzled stubborn customers, who keep the old place going while the new place shows them shiney, then they realize the new bar, kinda sucks, and they all go back after a while.
Then a new bar opens up, and the cycle repeats o.o;
SOE has been a pariah since they pulled the "Lets make SWG into WOW, cuz WOW worked!" NGE crap. None of us forgive and forgot that. I'm going on the record and saying i'll heck out a demo, MAYBE just to see Batman, but COX is going to have my money until the end of days. That you can count on (though I'll be splitting time to see how Bioware's hat being thrown into the MMO ring will work out..)
So there's my 2 cents again!

Goodness is this still going on? o.0
The Roper thing was a bit out of line :P The entire incident with Roper over at that Over game (Rhymes with Rampions Bovine) was that the "box" you were supposed to buy was to cover content that point in fact, WAS REQUIRED unless you wanted to grind daily quests in a certain area. The content gap was between "c" and "d" and WAS there until they paniced at how fast the people that swore they'd never come to CO from here ALSO went over there, broke no sweat eating up their content in three days of headstart, and were bored.
They compensated by increasing the difficulty, downing the exp tables, and forgot to think about (or ignored :P) that with a shift like that, you need to compensate the area where the exp to level content expires prior to being unlocked by the level your heading for.
Or..so I've heard.
I cannot believe the lot of us are still complaining about them making money off their hard work. We reap the benefits. Until someone comes up with crytsal clear evidence that Warwitch is the Devil or Positron in disguise (There's an image o.@) as the devil, why not..I dunno, relax? :P
Just my thoughts...

I think we're all forgetting the fundamental reason this is all happening :P
They are in this for MONEY. o.0 Thats not a bad thing. If you can't afford it, you can't afford it, ENJOY LIFE o.o;;
Hell I'm going to have to overdraw an account to pre order and get the complete shin-dig edition when it comes out. I don't have an issue with that. Why?
Because I know (though perhaps not the healthiest idea in my head) that my money, at least SOME OF IT, helps me as a player for future content. I don't know the split or ratio of dollars-to-donuts in the COx world of business, but I know that at least SOME of it HAS to be going to future projects.
I like this idea. Why? Because I enjoy this game and want MORE things for others to come and enjoy. A rather selfish reason since the more people that come in and enjoy it the more per person money comes in to enhance my gaming experiance down the road!
We tend to forget that we're not a pack of friends who are making a cute little game. This is a business that needs capital to persue new content, research and developtment that in the end benefits all of us.
On an unrelated note, sending them fruit baskets seems rather selfish since that money doesn't benefit anyone but them. THAT is selfish :P Of course, THIS is just my opinion.
Peace,

Quote:Wow. Just woke up. Kinda makes sense to me now, however, thanks for dealing with me :PI think you're confused to the point where you've confused me, too. ^_^;
I'm going to try and deconstruct your NyQuil-driven post here...
1) You pay $30 directly to NCSoft as the pre-purchase amount. This entitles you to the Going Rogue expansion when it is released. You do not have to pay anything else.
2) You get Dual Pistols as early as March, and Demon Summoning as early as April (depending on when you do your pre-purchase transaction).
.....a) Ultra Mode is now coming for free with Issue 17.
3) When Going Rogue is released in July, then you get the new Praetorian zones, the ability to switch sides with your characters, and presumably the new end-game content.
If you do NOT pre-purchase, you do not get Dual Pistols or Demon Summoning early. They are only for people who purchase the Going Rogue expansion. (If you buy the expansion after it is released, you get access to the powersets then.)
Did that hopefully clear it up a bit for you?
Paying $30 to the NCSoft store will get you Dual Pistols almost immediately*, Demon Summoning sometime the following month*, and full access to Praetoria and all the other content and features of Going Rogue in July.
*Assuming you preorder when the option is first made available.
If you want the special bonus costumes, stance emotes, stealth power and whatever other goodies are in the "Complete Collection," then yes, you'll have to pay an additional fee once the expansion is actually released.
Now..where do I throw my money! :P

Also am I reading this right or is it the Nyquil...
In order to get Pistols first you pay a set price, then if you want the items exclusive to the expansion you must pay a higher set price in addtion to the first price? Or am I reading that wrong? -
I'm a bit confused still so GR when it's finally done is just use purchasing new content, not new powers, since we can get those with pre order, and not the ability to port bad to good and good to bad, or get ultra mode? <scratches head> I are confuzed. o.@
-C.A. -
Wonderful ideas I must agree, the gun-fu thing is the vibe I'm getting too. However I don't think it would be prudent at this juncture to ask for a brand new power tree (be it peppered with existing powers or not!) lest we delay more projects ^^
My 2 cents.

Quote:Might be a misunderstanding...Thought maybe they meant a new epic archetype o.@This is the one detail I'm not crazy about. Right now, the (V)EATs are badges of honor -- we worked hard to earn them and it seems like they'll be cheapened somewhat if anyone capable of getting Stamina can unlock them.
I can't help but remember the Star Wars: Galaxies MMO whose Epic Archetype, Jedi, took a dedicated player a year or more of grinding to unlock. There was a certain amount of displeasure when the Jedi class was opened up as a starting profession with no prerequisites.
Be that as it may, I'm looking forward to Issue 17 and hope my computer is up to the task of running Ultra Mode in all of its pixelly goodness.

Where can I pre order regardless of statue, it's what 70 bucks altogether? o.o

Doctor <nods> I await to see your talents

I was actually about to pawn a few things to get ready for this, thanks for the heads up, I think I'll get a few things upgraded inbetween though..!

Quote:Best bet is to go to the boat on Sat nights 5pm EST or a little before. Myself and Blazing have not been very consistent lately but most of the time there are others there who can lead teams pretty well.
Just a side note on GW. If you have a good DD Def you can just dog pile her, but keep in mind you will still need to keep CM on the tank and have the tank keep GW facing away from the rest of the team ... to keep them out of potential cone attacks. GL all.
Oh thank god we're still doing them, but My schedule don't change till in december to allow saturdays o.@ I'll keep looking though! o.o; -
Puppy I don't know any o the tricks, do you? o.o I don't know what I need these days since the fact my taunt makes GW come CLOSER :P
-
Alright I've been out a bit and I'm wondering if we're still doing Mo STF and LRSF runs? Or have I missed the boat and everyone who wanted them has them and has moved on? o.0
Also I'm hearing reports that there are now other Master of Badges for everything thats a tf save the Shard one's?
