Very nice....
My own question is, are the ears supposed to be flesh colored? I guess I never really knew if they were supposed to be furry or flesh or fake or...? -
PG-13?
Seriously??
I loved it until that.... Sorry, but I just cannot buy our Neko starring in anything that could possibly receive such a rating! -
I agree that Underdog isn't the nest of this group... But it is still darn fine great!
I definitely don't think it's worth beating yourself up over... Sometimes things just don't vome out as perfectly as we'd hope and there's nothing to do but move on.
Besides, if that's you're worst piece you have nothing to worry about! -
Just received a singing penguingram from VexXxa that she is not in the mood tonight... Seems the call of her secret identity was too strong and she won't have time for superheroing tonight.

I say everyone who participated is a winner!!!
(But special congrats to Liz!) -
These just continue to rock....

Dance... is that what the kids are calling it these days???
-
Ack, can't make this
Unfortunately my job seems to think they can tell me what to do... And are often right. Will definitely be checking out the tape delayed version first thing tomorrow though...
-
Woohoo! I should be able to make this!
And I think they all came out awesome -

Soooo.... It's not just a scheme concocted by Bubba??? Wowza!!
But, on behalf of all those who are unfairly descriminated against because their art is not considered "visual" I must give you a raspberry for supporting this kind of art-ism!! -
Quote:Personally, I don't think so. First off, the gift art is a maybe thing and I think one runs as much risk annoying someone who didn't get the maybe and turning them against ya as you do making someone feel obligated to vote for ya. Secondly, I seem to recall forumites being used in art in this contest for as long as I can remember... It almost seems to me that is almost a kind of tertiary side benefit of the contest. So get other people involved in your design process and reward them with giftart, which would probably make them grateful come voting time.
Isn't that tacky for an art contest?
As for the design process, I don't see him asking people to do layouts or such, just mainly what actors they thing would make good models for characters? Personally I see that as little more than an artist asking someone else what shade or red makes the blood look bloodier in a picture...
*shrug*
And personally, I think Lord Recluse could be expertly portrayed by

C'mon, no need for peeps to be ganging up on the couple people who mentioned they didn't like having to come up with n idea... Different strokes for different folks. And none of them were trying to get me to change, just pointing out why they hadn't participated.
And yeah, I see no need to let others dictate how I run things, but by the same token I do like to be as inclusive as possible... So once this restrts proper what I may do is just vary it month to month. We'll see come September... :P -
Not quitting. Think of it as a summer break. Come September I should have some form of ongoing contest going again, just may have a slightly different format (or not.)
-
I had considered a new thread each month but thought it may annoy people as a bit crowded? *shrug* May rethink that if/when I restart this. Hmph, hadn't considered that some people may be waiting for a specific theme or zone before jumping in. Ah well, I'll think on it some and try to come up with something that may excite more people... A couple mentioned they didn't like having to come up with a scene - it was too rp'ish for them - so maybe I'll consider changing that or alternating month with a random contest or some such...
As for different artists... One of the reasons I pulled back on contests for a bit was it seemed like every time I did one the artist flaked outI figured I finally had an artists who was consistantly good and dependable that I'd stick with them
Anyway, contests will resume in some form or another.... Be patient. -
Meep, a little bit late here...
June's winner is: Airhead!
Was a tough decision, even though there were just a scant few entries... But I guess to me the Donut is just the iconic Faultline piece of architecture. A big part of me feels I should go with Mel since she did bring it up first, but the fact that my Empty Knight's model sheet isn't done yet influenced me a bit, and Airhead's concept just allows for so much amusement...
As for July and onward... Well honestly I was hoping for a little better response to this contest each month. I certainly didn't need or expect a horde banging on the door trying to win each month. but with just 3 or 4 entries per month... *shrug*
I think what I am going to do is award the July prize to Mellissandria, August's to Fox_Rox and worry about September, and maybe onward, later on...
So Mel and Fox, start thinking about what you may want... The whole thing is wide open, we can just decide characters, locales, whatever between us. No need to jump right on it though, Mel's won't be sent to the artist until end of July, Fox's til end of August (heh, will at least keep you checking in a bit, hopefully!)
Anyway, Airhead - I am real pressed for time at the moment but tomorrow after work I will take a couple more screenies and get that sent off to Jazzcarmona... -
ok, I think the path aura's have some really cool potential... just a shame the frost didn't look as cool as I'd hope...

Quote:In the last ustream, Matt "Positron" Miller said you would be able to preview all costume items in the costume/character creator. Items that need to be unlocked will have a lock graphic or somesuch on it so you'll know what the item looks like even if you don't have access to it.
I'm not sure if that also applies to emotes.
bAH! People can't really expect me to know stuff that doesn't get talked about on this part of the forums! (But thanks for clueing me in!) -
With this F2P stuff coming, and the possibility of buying items piecemeal... The ONE change I would desperately call for would be able to try items on in the CC that you don't have access to.
Throw up a warning, or even a "buy it now" option or something... But I want to be able to see this stuff before I buy it, I want to see how it mixes and matches! Heck, it just makes Icon that much more realistic! :P
Anyway, for some reason I thought this was an appropriate place to spout off about this. Nevermind..... *shuffles off* -

Thanks!
Maybe THAT'S why the Lynx is eyes Amerikatt? The food was all gone before they got fed???
AMERIKATT! RUN!!!!!! -
I'm totally digging the odd, offbeat poses... they add a ton of character to the... err, characters.
