  1. The problem is a Vigilante 'helps' people even if they don't do so legally.

Batman on the other hand attracts crazies, crazies who will maim and murder just to attract his attention. In turn despite being the cause of this problem, Batman won't do anything about it. Even if we ignore the lethal ways, he has a whole host of none lethal ways that would get his rogue gallery out of everyone's hair.

Sort of the same with Spiderman, sometimes the Bugle is right, and Spidey is a menace, at least he is when his rogues are out just to get him, and messing everyone else's day up in the process. But at least they have better prisons in Marvel NYC.

    Edit to clarify:

Batman isn't a vigilante in my opinion, because his existence does more harm than good.

"Gotham" comics Batman that is, the more fantastical Justice League and team comic Batman, is a great boon to mankind.

If you talk about the comic batman (IMHO the real batman) he does bring in the villains to the law enforcement or to Arkham if they are too dangerous to keep in jail. Though he is not an actual policeman and wears a badge he works with the police, Chief Jim Gordon is his informer and they constantly keep communication with each other. The villains of Gothamn know that Batman will put them in jail. So in a way Batman is a part of the law enforcement. He is also Gotham's hero alongside Robin which Gotham can call on when they are in need of help, using the bat signal. Just like calling 911.

If you talk about the Bale movies however.. (I won't state my opinion of them here) it's portrayed slight different. Bale is more of a person taking law in his own hand. As wayne he's totally different from the charasmatic and intelligent Wayne in the comics who put everyone else well being before himself. As batman Bale is a depressed and a mental instable maniac who is constantly fighting against his memories of the criminal who shot down his father and mother. Yes, Batman does have this inner conflict in the comics 2 but its extremely much better pulled of, well written and it builds up to something important.
I wouldn't say Batman is well written in the comics at all. The editorial mandate that he should never kill off any of his villains, else they can't bring them back in the future, and would shock, horror! have to be some what creative in their future story telling. Kills any idea that Batman is a vigilante, or even a hero at all.

No what Batman does is purely for his own sick enjoyment.

Take the Joker, Batman will never kill the Joker, instead putting him back into Arkham, which has proven to be less effective than the Zig on CoV launch day. Joker will escape, maybe beat to death a bus full of nuns ("What's black and white, and red all over Bats?"), innocents will die while Joker continues his flirting with Batman, and Batman will just get him sent to worlds least secure location again.

If it wasn't for the whole his villains must return, 'cus no one wants to think up new ones, then he wouldn't need to kill and he'd still be able to be the Dark Knight, simply put, he could build a new Arkham Asylum, on the moon, or at the bottom of the ocean, or even pull a Tony Stark and put it in another dimension.
  3. "The government of the Etoile Islands, has done nothing worse than other governments, hell they have a slightly better history than some. Need I point you to the U.S.A's own shady actions. Sponsoring Warlords, I'm surprised that Arachnos can find any requiring sponsor, given that 'big business' sponsors the ones the USA doesn't."

"Honestly I don't know who is more shady, Longbow or Arachnos, both have their own, over eager soldiers that bend the rules of engagement to what ever they want. Remember it's not illegal for Longbow to use flamethrowers, as they aren't strictly a military unit, bravo" *Small fan fair sound effect* "for the term 'hero support'."

"Overly aggressive in their pursuit of justice, flouting local and international laws, heck they even have their own 'create a freak' super power development program"

"Truly the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, when considering that family."
  4. The Avatar's digitized voice slurs, speaking slowly at first, but then gaining speed, until once more it's at a normal pace.

"The Villains invaded Warburg, sorry but that is part of the Etoile Isles, they can't invade what they already own."

"As for why Longbow didn't inform the citizens living in these places, of the upcoming attack, assuming that they did indeed know all about them..."

"Well why would they? You must remember for all its humanitarian efforts, Longbow was born as a teenage rebellion, to show up the parents of a rebellious demi-god. People in peril, means that they get to rescue them, and look good in the media."

"In fact their very presence in the Rogue Isles, is nothing more than a childish grudge Ms. Liberty bares towards her uncle."

"You did know that Ms. Liberty is related to Recluse didn't you? It seems setting up private para-military groups runs in the family."

"As for saving the citizens of the Etoile Isles, well..... Unless Longbow are having one of their fun fire fights outside the citizens house, they are actually safer in the 'Rogue' Islands than in Paragon City."

"Simply put, even the so called 'Destined' ones are only allowed to get away with so much. Once they start killing and maiming, the citizens of the Rogue Islands, they are swiftly killed or destroyed by Arachnos Assassins."

"No final plea bargaining, no last minute jail breaks. Just a few blasts, and your remains in a lab."

"The question is, why do heroes think they can ignore US law, nay even international law?"

"A man surrendered to him, yet Pious decided he would ignore the Geneva convention (Though not applicable because as a private militia, Longbow are unable to declare war on the Etoile Islands.), and a half dozen US laws on the treatment of prisoners and rough the guy up."

"Of course this would be bad press, if the link between Longstaff and Pious was ever made public."

    *Emote Cough* "R.A.P.I.E.R" *Emote Cough*

"Convenient that he was killed, by a rather well known, mercenary figure right?"
  5. "To kill anyone is murder, but hey your friend Molly is perfectly innocent right, as long as the blood isn't on her hands right? I mean she just made the guns, and the ammo and sold them."
  6. "She heads a company that makes weapons, the same weapons used to kill other human beings. She's already provide the tools to murder others, it seems as long as her hands remain clean, then it doesn't bother her. Hence having Pious murdered, and not doing it with her own hands."

  9. The shadow avatar draws a square, in the air, which becomes solid a metallic sheen which it then tosses to the others in the chat room. A brief data transfer that gives them.....

"Molly Longstaff's own words, if he continues to 'act up' her forces are ordered to take him down."

Again the shadow draws a box in the air, however this one just expands and starts to scroll with information, NATO purchase orders for various supplies, including weaponry, from a range of companies. The total at the end, is quite the figure.

"A lot of money right, worth a few lives to get a slice of that pie."

Draws another square in the air, this one expands into several squares hanging in the air around the shadow avatar.

"What do we have here, the 'villain' side, why aren't they members of the Corporation? An organization that is involved in the exact same sectors as Longstaff?"

Clicking one set of it's fingers the shadow avatar shuts down the data displays.

"Showing of your weapons in the theater of war, not illegal, but how about setting up a situation in which you can show of your latest products? And when some one's manic nature threatens to escalate the carefully tailored conflict you had constructed, threatening in turn your profits... then killing just becomes a matter of numbers."
  10. "The only real evidence that I have is the flow of the events. If Ms Longstaff, was truly as disgusted as she claimed in her companies little statement, then why after the death of the Priest, was she one of the leaders of the 'hero' forces?"
  11. "She didn't want him to talk, if it was known that Longstaff Wartech were sponsoring terrorists, in an effort to start a war, and make a 'killing' from the weapon sales... well their stocks would take a tumble."
  12. The figure increased in number of shadows until the avatar resembled a thick, black, multi-limbed amalgamation of a crowd.

“While true that the Priest’s actions showed his lack of character... surely the same can be said of all people once they gain certain amounts of power. There are certainly enough cases, of people believing themselves to be above their governments or laws, simply because they believe their version of ‘right’ is more correct, that that of the public’s, and since they have the power to enforce their version, it will be so. That is without bringing ‘villains’ into the consideration.”

The number of shadows thinned out as the Avatar made its next point.

“Regardless of his terrorist actions, the Priest still had a right to be judged in court, not to have his sentence decided by a millionaire who hired an executioner to carry out the act.”
  13. An avatar under the username of “Electric Feel” enters the room, the avatar seems a little more abstract than the standard celebrity or me IRL designs, being little more than a collection of shadows, tilted upwards into a messy mix only barely resembling a human figure. Other than the avatar’s username everything is hidden, the fields in personal information, filled with null data, if they could not be left blank. It’s ping seems to be all over the place, and it seems to come from now fixed I.P address, when it speaks the voice is neither male nor female, far too distorted to make any assumptions about the user... luckily sub titles are provided.

“It is clear, Molly Longstaff is a murderer. Though her hands may be free of blood, it was clearly her intent that the Priest died.”

The figure paused, the number of shadows making up its form decreasing and increasing randomly.

“The why is simple... Money, the Priest’s terrorist actions pre-empted Longstaff’s own weapon sales, clearly the deal between the Priest and Longstaff was jeopardised by his sudden attack. Unable to supply both sides of the conflict, Longstaff lost money, and thus Molly had her business associate ‘terminated’”
  14. I go off character and then power sets.

For example my main Character Twilighter, has active psychic defenses. She has to conciously make an effort to block influence/intrusion, representing the will power toggle.

But since she doesn't wander around with all toggles blazing, she's been influenced a couple of times before.

BUO on the other hand, it doesn't come up, he's a robot, reading his mind would require a lap top and some cables.

Police Injured In Accounting Firm Investigation

Several police officers remain in a critical condition after a fire fight during an investigation at Maxington Accounting in Galaxy City last night, it is currently unknown who the attacking party was, though one of the officers had this to say.

“The air crackled, like you get when an electric meta is around, you know the feeling right before a thunder storm? Well I thought we were getting some back up, the next thing I know there is this horrible boom and we are all down.”

Maxington Accounting were without comment on the issue, though it is understood they have been cleared of any involvement.

Police are warning the citizens of Galaxy City to be on the lookout for strange activity...
  16. Mark Manchester AKA The Glucomancer killed in suspected assassination.

Shortly before mid-day ‘super’ villain Mark Machster (39) was killed, in what is believed to be a vigilanty attack upon the Zig

They are loud, flashy and irritating?

It'd be some what like having some one flash their car lights through the window, while honking their horn loudly, while you are playing [Insert PnP RP Game OF Choice Here].
  18. The base is amazing, even if Grekha has to crouch in some areas
  19. Twilighter went to Paragon City School For Girls, before her origin event.
  20. Is it possible to switch my character in the Nighthunters?

Really fallen out of favor with the character of Lastwatch, he's not as fun as I had imagined he would be.

Also Omy's character Tal has been trying to recruit my new RP character so.......
