Quote:Not to mention the City frowns on honoring any living heroes at all, after states said he thought it was a bad idea.
To be fair if what Statesman thinks, is what goes, we wouldn't have Longbow.
Likewise the City can't stop it. Freedom of the press and Freedom of speech being a big thing in America. -
Quote:Actually I did, but couldn't imagine you'd have the gumption to assume some one is being unaware of a plot they are involved in running.Nope, I was referring to the very plot that your robot incident was part of. It's a large plot with lots of scope for anyone to get involved if they want, and since you downscaled the incident, can be ignored.
But I guess you didn't read my post from this morning either.
Of course this may be you not knowing Pious/Pistol are a couple and use each others accounts...
Of course you could be just being plain argumentative for the sake of it. -
Quote:^ I guess you didn't bother reading other people's posts after your one this morning? You know, the ones where several people show that "wide" scale plots actually happen quite regularly, there's at least one going on right now.
Oh, and an awards ceremony? No way. That would turn out to be nothing but an epeen waving contest.
Actually... none of the posts say that at all FFM.
Unless you are referring to those plots run by players, where only a select group of people can have effect/input on the proceedings? -

I do agree that in most cases, when English artists integrate the anime style into their work...some times it's not all that great (Totally Spies comes to mind...)
Totally Spies is a French production, and the French have a long history of either using anime style for their cartoons, or indeed having their cartoons made by Anime studios. -
Comic books never change, in a decade or so I'll be older than Bruce Wayne, a character who has been around for decades before I was born, and will continue to be around long after my death.
Anime and their paper based manga form, tend to be self contained series written by one author, they eventually conclude their story and move on.
A completed story is something more appealing to me, than one that will never end.
If you're talking about art styles, then both are as bad as each other. Both genre's have their great artists, and both have their artists that have you wonder how they ever got a job in the first place. -
Quote:There wasnt really much to see, unless one was interested in Seafood, the corridor opens on a preparation area, all stainless steel machinery and tables. To the south is an area that smells of chemical cleaners, directly across from the corridor is a large sliding door rimmed with frost.Yarg moved towards thesound of the freezers. If what the meat doctors had said was right, the freezers were a good place to look for clues. Yarg moved without a sound, keeping slow to make sure not to slide on the ice. His demonic features contorted in concentration, he kept his nose open for any hint of rotting flesh, and his ears open for any sound that might mean an ambush. He believed it may have been a good idea to check the Van, bu decided it was unlikely to be going anywhere for a little while and he didnt want to be caught by the gaurd early on.
Generally the room smells of cleaning fluids, and fresh fish. -
Quote:Yarg watched the man drive the van in. He waited for it for the shutter to be locked before moving. Getting past the securtiy gaurd had been easy, the old man could have been easily dispatched, but Yarg was a stealth agent and had no need of such techniques. He didnt fully understand what a fishing company would have to do with the meat doctors or their death dealing works, but if they were innocent, then the meat doctors would certainly pay for lying to him.
He moved silently, heading for the buildings interior.
Inside the building it was quite dark; a poster on the wall explained it Save Money! Turn of lights when leaving explained the darkness. While the building was quiet of any human sounds, there was the constant hum of freezer units from deeper within. The building shook slightly, and a groan seemed to echo through it.
The floor was roughly textured, standard none slip design, and the reason would soon become apparent, the further away you get from the entrance the van had driven it to, the more frost covered the floors and walls. -
Ocean Farm, Paragon City a few miles from the docks.
Like the businesses around it the Ocean Farm, fish processing factory was made of several blocky buildings surrounded by a chain link fence. The fence opened towards the road with a small security booth and barrier preventing access into the car park.
A black van drove down the deserted road, pausing at the gate house as the driver leaned out to chat to the slightly past his prime security guard. The barrier was raised, and the van drove into the factory ground, and up to the shutter door of the largest of the factories buildings, which appeared to be two floors tall rather than the squat single floor buildings around it.
The van stopped engine ticking over, as a thuggish looking man got out of the passenger seat, he unlocked the shutter, letting it rise up and the van drive into the building, before pulling it shoot again and locking it. Looking around, he moves a little out of the way of the wind, and lights up a cigarette, puffing away as he waits. -
Alternative jump on point...
Anyone investigating the kidnappings that happened prior to the robot attack, would eventually be lead to some currently wealthy Meat-doctors, they'd crumble under interrogation/violence and reveal that they'd been hired to do some grisly work at a place called Ocean Farm. -
Quote:The chickens are even worse.Once again, I sit here in a complete and utter state of bemusement over this thread. It really has been a rollercoaster ride of breathtaking insanity.
Also, everyone knows that the most powerful, indestructible things in the CoX universe are those green plastic bags. I mean, NPC's are indestructibe, but the gren carrier bags stand up to being pulled on for hours by a thug and an indestructible NPC! You could easily kill Statesman by wrapping him in green carrier bags.
So much so that the emote had to be janked from the AE! -
Quote:Couldn't you make a DP/Something blaster, and then max out your defenses (maybe recharge too) with Invention sets? For the most part I'd agree. I do get annoyed when the game simply won't allow cerain concepts (Like Jen Kerringer, who would be a DP/SR 'Something', but I can't do that. So bleah. I guess I'll mess around with her slotting more when I19 comes around)
There's a character I could rant about, but I won't, because I can see where that would take the thread. -
Fine by me.
Thread continues with it any way.
Using the lower casualty figure. -
It would be late at night; several days after the dead had been buried before anything unusual took place, yet when it did it would be unusual indeed.
All Saints Graveyard.
Those that had been killed in the awful attack had finally been laid to rest. Being of the same faith, it seemed only natural that they should be buried in the same graveyard. Now several days later something unusual happened, a dozen or so black vans drove up to the gates of the graveyard at one A.M in the morning. As a heavyset man began to unlock the gates, the vans turned off their lights.
Or at least their visible lights, they drove into the graveyard using Blacklight* to illuminate the way. When they got to the new graves they stopped, the van doors sliding open and more men getting out. They moved with the nervous energy of the career criminal, and when they spoke it was with the mixed brogue common to those of the Rogue Islands.
Team one keep dem eyes low. Team two be watching the skies, Team three youre on grab duty said a slight more professional looking man, he was even wearing a tie!
For the most part the men looked to be street toughs, simple low pay thugs, but clearly someone with money was backing them, the headsets they are wearing and the Blacklight goggles they are using to see by, is clearly cutting edge equipment.
They took position and waited.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Gripped by panic, lost in the darkness, fingers tear at wood with desperation.
Much stronger than before, wood splinters and breaks, the heady scent of fresh soil begins to fill a tiny space.
Hands scrabble at dirt, desperate, clawing, claiming freedom.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Contact Team ones spotter said
A small figure dressed in funeral clothing, began to claw his out of his own freshly dug grave.
Taking down Team ones shooter calmly confirmed.
As the freshly risen vampire blinked his new undead eyes, he gave a gasp as a long syringe impacted into his stomach, the plunger of which sank as its contents were pumped into his stomach. He gave a sound of strange pleasure, then his eyes rolled up and he fell over. The syringes contents?
Rich, warm human blood and enough sedatives to knockout a rhino.
Team three moved in, snatching the vampires unconscious form, and bundling him into the back of a van. The van began to drive back to the entrance, finally switching back to regular lights when it reached the road. Keeping to the traffic laws, to avoid suspicion as it drove with its cargo to some unknown destination.
The teams resumed their watchful positions, waiting and ready for the next to rise...
*Blacklight is a particular type of light, that can not be picked up by normal humans, or most Earth species. However with the right equipment, or enhanced senses its possible to use it to see by.

Quote:RE: Being able to take on lvl 54 AV Statesman.
If we're going off game mechnics, I belive the most pwoer force in the universe is 3/4 thugs, a pyromaniac with molotov's, two tranchcoat wearing uzi weilders and a beefy biker.
G'won, try beating a thugs MM with anything other then a team of VEATs or an IO'd to the gills Scrapper/Brute, I'll wait.
See, there happens to be a line between game mechnics and RP, and while the former can at times be a usful guidline to the latter, not using common sense or using what you can do as the former as an excuse for claiming you're silly powerful just doesn't sit right with me.
Not to mention RP fighting style can differ greatly from what;'s used in game! Such as my super strength chracter who mostly attacks by throwing hings (Usually enemy robotic minions) at enemies, nothing like this in game, but it's reasonable.
Another would be the character who's only power is to turn invisible/intangible, of course I had to get them to level 20 odd using MA/WP to get the whole power pool, but in any RP situation they'd loose so hard to just about anyone, dispite the fact they could comfortably beat lower level enemies in game.
I hope my point is getting across here.
Not true actually.
Try leveling a thugs master mind, until you get a bunch of debuffs or buffs as the players powers, the pets are hellishly weak to AoE damage, which the game loves to chuck at you all the time at those levels... (Yay scrap yarders, and yay destroyers)
So its thugs, backed up by an experienced and powerful leader that become dangerous, since its the Master Mind him/her self that has all the debuffs.
And if you're talking PVE, then its bots hands down. While Thugs has the damage, Bots with the right secondary are a lot safer for AV/GM spanking.
Of course in PVP you could just beat one with confusion...
Now this is a personal pet peeve of mine, possibly along the lines of Fans and FFM and kid characters.
I can't stand people who make characters who are 'everything'.
I believe people should stick somewhat to the AT types we get. That means no DBZ martial arts scrappers, who mainly use kung fu but have more energy blasts than any blaster, of course I also dis-like it when people play Blasters that are 'tougher' than tanks.
If you can't back it with game play mechanics, don't do it. We aren't playing pen and paper after all. -
Quote:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v3rhQ...eature=relatedNo, I've always been "Cats" for all my CoX career (since november 2007 to be exact, I just didn't bother to join the forums). I suspect that I'm the reason she used a "z" though, as I've already been around when Catz was still playing.

Quote:Can't say I've seen many pre-teens being treated like Tomb is.
Never heard the Batman joke?
"Hey Batman you're all about sneaking in the shadows, so what's with the big yellow oval on your chest?" <insert character name>
"That's where the armour is, I'd prefer it if they shot me where I'm armoured, rather than in the head." Batman
"Fair point, but what about your side kick in the red, green and yellow?" <insert character name>
"I just explained that." Batman
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
What's wrong with using adult characters? Well mainly that its been done, you put the pain in the backstory, back when they were a kid and well now they are an adult... you've got Batman, or Manticore or Catwoman
It is just a concept that I enjoy exploring, take your Batman, Catwoman etc character, but rather than waiting until they are older for them to start getting their revenge, have them get the power while the hurt is still raw (though yeah Batman, pain still raw etc) how does that make them different to how they'd be years down the line?
Of course the Dawww aspect comes into it as well, as these types of characters usually get a good end, Hitgirl for example or most 'dark magical girl' characters. (except sadly in Gundam) -
Quote:That is pretty much the concept behind her, she's my expression of horror at the sidekick concept and its implementation in modern comics. If his intention was to make people feel physically disgusted by her entire concept, then sure, I guess so.
Just an FYI the Teen Titan's has a higher member mortality rate than the Suicide Squad.
That said apparently Kick*** 2 will pretty much have a Tomb character in it.
And to Fans....
Tombs been arrested at the statue three times, the first time she escaped after several days, IC it was the transport (paddy wagon) getting clipped by a Rikti bomb. OOC I was still collecting the Rikti invasion badges, and didn't feel like switching. After that second arrest, I took her red side, not having her return to the statue until the incident in which I ended that incarnation of Tomb, with her being arrested over the anti-monster group The Church of Man (Wanted to call it the brotherhood of man, but brotherhood is a banned word in the AE). Sarah didn't turn up until Dual Pistols, or possibly had a one off flying visit prior to that.
I'll admit the Jill incident was a little over played, but it was just too much fun to try and make Theo quit smoking. -
I have more to add :P
okay, is anyone looking into the source of the robot? Or the kidnappings prior to the attack? If so say how, and I'll PM some info prior to the next stage of plot.
Anyone watching the graveyard where the victims have been buried? -
Quote:Technically... people can build toons that can solo Statesman at AV 53...It's a bit like characters who claim to be stronger then Statesman really, as he's canonically the strongest hero on Primal Earth, simpley put if we're going to RP in the CoX setting we have to stick by it's canon, otherwise what's the point? We may as well just go and create our own unvirese and so on, why even play :P
Making them... stronger than Statesman... -
While I've reduced the number...
I'd point out the number was only exaggerated by 150 or so casualties, the pupil numbers are a lot higher in American Big City schools, than most of us Europeans can imagine. -
((Please note Im writing this after meeting with a friend who I have not seen in four years. I am rather dunk.))
New Figures Twenty Seven Dead, an unknown number missing.
The previous figures displayed by our News show/paper were incorrect, the current figures show twenty seven as dead after the shocking discovery of a Armageddon standard bunker under Saint Johnss Faith School. Inside the bunker, the majority of the schools pupils were found safe and well, though several were taken to hospital for minor injuries and shock.
Investigations continue into who is responsible for the attack, and who created the bunker. -
7am Thursday 2nd September
Dogs Body sniffed the floor, a mutant since he hit puberty, the now forty something man had gotten used to having a canine like head. With his advanced sense of smell he could of been an elite tracker, but he lacked the knack for combat and had instead joined the SRS (Search and Rescue Society), he sniffed the floor, even going down on all fours and scampering as he frowned.
This isnt right... his nose had lead him to a large section of rubble Hey Sub can you clear this?
Subsoil was an earth controller and like Dogs Body, a member of the SRS. She concentrated eyes narrowing as she stared at the rubble, with her fingers extended claw like she moved her hands to the right, the rubble lurched with the gesture, being dragged clear.
Hey weve got something! Dogs Body called out.
Workers both human and meta-human gathered around what appeared to be a vast vault door laying on the floor, several of the stronger workers began to turn the large wheel at the centre of the door... -
Quote:That's the thing though to accept that Ellie managed it, and isn't still a murderer, you're having everyone who RP's with Ellie accept that. You're within your rights to do so; especially as it was a wholly personal plot and only involved 2 other people, both whom gave prior agreement before I did it.
A) All of the named menders are a bunch of sneaky sneaks.
B) Ellie is responsible for Nemesis.
There's also the whole issue of the Paradox generated by her saving him. I mean if Nemesis wasn't around there of been no Brass Monday, there would of be no Nemesis plots, the gangland structure of Paragon City would of been vastly different, thus its possible (likely maybe) that Ellie would not of been in a situation in which she had to make that deal with the Menders... -
Oh I'm pretty narked OOC already, though not about this. F.E.A.R 2 is not as scary as F.E.A.R ¬_¬
