“You may think that I am a moron!” the wrestler grunts in the cold “But I know many things!”

Some of the rocks began t o split from the rapid cooling, their cracks perhaps just a momentary distraction from the sound of sand rubbing on sand, against rock and against metal. The sand at first began to jump before it rose into the air, rubbing and spinning in circles as the room began to fill with a sand storm, a counter source of heat rising to battle Damsels chill.

“Like sand rubbing against sand, causes friction and friction causes heat!”

    “Woah! Woah!”

The blades cut close to the Jaguar themed fighter, making him strike some rather odd poses as he uses his speed to dodge out of the way, only to have to pull up short to avoid dodging into another blade.

He runs forward at the girl making breast stroke swimming motions with his arms, creating a shield of heated and pushed away air, that he intends to use to deflect the blades while sprinting closer.

The bird man falls back, just as the sonic bursts rip his wings, he plummets head first to the floor, where he jerks and flops several times, before falling still.

The room lights up, the electricity stops, a small panel in the roof opens up and a plastic box attached to a length of chain drops down near the enterance, within the clear box is a disc, smooth on one side with puzzle like notches on the upper half, it’s an inch thick and has the letter ‘S’ engraved on the side.

Several patches of the water bulge up, either side of the bridge, before from the upper north west corner of the room a bullet of water fire, shaped like a cannon ball it would have the same level of impact.

The building threatens to crumble at any moment as several load bearing walls and structures collapse. Below this would send echoes and dust falling from the roof.

The area would indeed smell as if Tomb has been here, Tomb and many other humans, though the scent is several hours old, and with the disturbances caused by Destroyer and Vyachslav its almost impossible to tell whether the strongest scent is one heading deeper or out of the mines.

    D5 Labs

The porcine ape, looks confused, before it bellows and beats its fists against its chest, picking up another crate it tosses it at Vyachslav as it gets more and more irate with the intruders.

    Above the island.

The sky close to the island is filled with a hellish thunderstorm, ash and rock dust rub against each other filling the choking black clouds with intense displays of lightning that causes molten bits of glass to fall like rain water.

The submarines speakers crackled into life. Giving a howl of feedback before a salty voice speaks.

"Ye be wanting the pipsqueak to be safe, then yer better get a move on. She's under that dere plant, locked up tighter than a princess's knickers so she is. You bring her here and things can end up all ship shape."

    Sprang!

The wall of force hits hits Infeno Jaguar, tossing him backwards, he shakes his head to clear the ringing in his ears.

"You little motha ******!" he snarls before.

He accelerates with a sonic boom, a trick of the acceleration causing him to appear to vanish as he appears close enough to aim a flaming round house kick at the girl.

The frogman jumps back, with a flick a face plate comes down obscuring his face as he tumbles gracefully into the water, turning invisible as he does so, the water bulges upwards as a water whip heads towards Erez'Zul, snapping the railing as it whips forward.

Thunder Hawk, whips his arms forwards sending several feather shaped throwing knives at Screecher, each with an almost invisible in the gloom.

    Inferno Jaguar… face palms.

“I can’t believe this ****, months of practise and they send a ******* sidekick to fight me?” he sounds gutted.

Terra Ox weathered the blows like a mountain, like stone. Truthfully a lot like both, as the first hit struck him is skin went gray, and started to increase in toughness with each blow, until it was like striking unyielding stone.

“You are not a bear! But let us wrestle anyway!” he announces in a loud voice.

Turning he punches the floor with a yelled

    “Floor becomes SPIKES NOW!”

True to his word, the floor became covered with needle sharp stone spikes, each a half foot long and closely packed, like a hedgehog or hairbrush.

Tosses him straight back at Destroyer.

“Stoppppp zis I am a man of SCIENCE!”

D5 Viral Lab->Storage-> Beyond the blast door.

Various forms of low yield explosive line the walls, clearly Tomb had been stocking up to spread the virus. In the centre of the room is a massive, triple sealed valve covered trap door. Around it are warning posters, ‘Warning’ they say ‘Do Not Open The Trapdoor’, they continue ‘Something Wicked Is Down There’.

I don't even know what to say about that article other than... what.

Actually he's spot on in several areas.

A new game launching has to have more content than its competition and its years of development and change and all its expansions else it will be slated and word of mouth will doom it.

It doesn't have to be the best game around, people just have to believe it is and tell all their friends it is, tell all who will listen it is, and down play other games when they launch.
  9. Why didn't they put the Steampunk stuff in? Its so lovely!

    West Door

The water surges upwards, as a figure leaps from the pool, at first it is invisible just a barely visible shimmer, that gradually becomes coloured. Patches of dark green appear as water drips from the figures body to reveal…

A six foot two tall man, built like a martial artist, wearing a slightly oversized dark green frog suit, not a frog suit as in a frog mans diving suit, no a frog suit like an actual frog, complete with webbed feet and hands as well as googley eyes. The frogs mouth is open and the mans face can be seen within it, Caucasian, a little bit of blonde stubble on his chin, swimming goggles covering his eyes.

“And I am its master!” he announces dropping into a crouched martial arts pose “DEEP FROG

    South Door

The room lights up as electricity arcs out towards several of the metal poles, they glow like light bulb the metal burning bright and hot from the current. It illuminates a man about five foot six, wearing a stylised bird costume, slightly Aztec like in design, all gold and red, his face is covered by a helmet like a birds head, he stands with his arms up, wings attached to his underarms…

“And I am its Master!” he announces dropping his arms, fixing Screecher with a helmeted gaze “THUNDER HAWK

    East Door

Again the floor moves towards another door, which opens to reveal a room made of granite, the room is incredibly hot, like a steel mill or glass works. Flames flicker on the floor, igniting one by one to form a corridor or red carpet of dull red flames.

“The spark that started all invention, the light that separates us from beasts...”

There is a burst of sound as something large breaks the sound barrier, a man appearing with flames flickering around him, the flames die out to reveal. A man around six foot tall, in a tight lycra like bodysuit with matching gloves and boots, a tech looking helmet is on his face the metal and plastic moulded to look like some form of big cat. He looks more than a little bit like a power ranger, especially when he throws a few martial arts kicks and blows, finishing with a round house that causes another sonic boom and creates a burst of flame in the air.

“And I am its master!” he stands in a ready position “INFERNO JAGUAR!”

    North

The door leads like the others to a corridor, another door and then a much larger room, this one has a dirt floor, and loads of assorted rocks scattered around, giving the room the look of an abandoned quarry.

“The foundation on which we build our lives, provider of all since our early days…”

The floor bulges upwards as an absolute giant of a man bursts from the ground, seven foot if an inch and rippling with muscles, he wears a Lucha Libre mask, wrestling shorts and large wrestling boots. His mask is topped with a large pair of Ox horns, he shakes dirt from himself, rolling his arms to warm up.

“And I am its master!” he bellows out standing with his arms upraised as he roars “TERRA OX

“No no no vat have you done?” the scientist cries out before covering his mouth, realizing too late that he’d breathed in the virus.

“Ze sun yes I just need to avoid ze sun, but you, you blithering IMBECIL! You VILL RUE ZE DAY YOU CAME HERE!” he takes a bleeper from his coat pocket, clicking it towards the door which slides open slightly.

The door opens more as a vast hand reaches to grip the edge and slide it further open, revealing a twenty foot tall well it looks to be a silver back Gorilla, except instead of an apes head it has that of a wild boar, complete with broadsword length tusks.

    “Mwuh?” it grunts questioningly

“Hugo destroy zat fool!” the scientist declares pointing dramatically at Destroyer.

“Mwgronk!” the Simi-ham’s nostrils flare as it lifts up a wooden crate and Donkey Kong’s it at Destroyer.

  11. E4 Below.

    West door:

The door snaps open as Erez’Zul approaches it, to close with another snap behind him. There is a short corridor, a corridor that moves pushing him towards the next doors, which open and snap shut behind him again.

The room is large and square, from the door way across to the other side of the room is a metal grilled floor, about two people wide and fenced in by a pair of safety barriers. The grilled floor is perhaps a few inches above water that floods the rest of the room, its perhaps ten foot deep. The room is illuminated from below, lights set into the floor and shinning up through the water, causing a rippling effect.

    A voice speaks.

“The ultimate source of life, without it we are just dust…”

    South door:

The door snaps open as Screecher approaches it, to close with another snap behind him. There is a short corridor, a corridor that moves pushing him towards the next doors, which open and snap shut behind him again.
This room is mostly dark, though far, far larger than the other rooms, bars and small platforms are laid out seemingly at random around the room, the floor crackles with electricity, visibly arcing and sparking as it crawls and leaps across the ground, the floor is perhaps twenty foot below the little platform on which Screecher finds itself.

    “Endless, eternal, always above us…”

    Central room:

As Damsel places her fist in the hole there would be a brief burst of energy and the limb would go out of phase with the rest of the world. This would pretty much sever anything placed into the hole, cutting it on the atomic level which would mean it would take a second or so for the blood to start pumping out and nerves to start screaming at the loss.

The elevator speeds downwards, opening out on to a warehouse floor. A couple of hundred glowing red, liquid filled glass spheres line the walls, as do the components for making low yield explosives, designed for spreading liquid or gas over a wide area.

Opposite from the elevator a man is busy loading several of the glass spheres into a duffle bag.

“Never enough time, why do they alvays come too soon, ze ignorant louts with their dammed pitch forks and flaming torches! Fools and peasents they do not understand ze glories of SCIENCE MWAHAHAHAHAH AHAHAHAHAH AZAHAZHAZAH!” he outright rants to himself, further beyond him is a large set of blast doors, as tall as the warehouse room.

They take a few departing shots as they move away, but nothing too serious as they head over the road and down into the long grass on the other side. One does leave a claymore mine behind just to dissuade any pursuers.

They’d left heavy weaponry behind, a couple of single use anti-aircraft rockets, and a snub barreled grenade launcher with a half dozen rounds. Why they had left the grenade launcher behind might have something to do with it being in a box labeled “Experimental Void Grenandes”.

    D5 Viral Lab Status:

There are three floors below the flooded one, currently there are unusual energy signatures from the bottom floor. Two floors down, there is nothing, not even a trace of energy, not even enough that it could power an electric light.

The vampires have gone feral, they patrol the water with minds little more self aware than a hungry piranha, though they ignore Vyachslav for the most part only moving away if he enters the water as they look for more ‘natural’ prey.

The plant is how Damsel, the demons, mercs and Ere'Zul have left it. A smokey, damaged and battle debris covered building.

    E4 The Elevator

The elevator begins to descend taking quite some time to arrive at its destination, time that may be quite torturous. As the lift descends it plays music, eighties pop music, but entirely instrumental. That is to say; played entirely on pan pipes.

The elevator doesn’t actually travel that far down, it just does so extremely slowly. It arrives at a room, the elevator opening to face another set of heavy blast doors, the metal doors and the circular shaft they open onto are a dull purplish grey, the markings of an impervium alloy, the metal pulses with static and waves of blue energy and mystic runes run appear on its surface. Above the blast door is a fist sized circular hole.

Doors are situated at the north, south, east and west of the room, the walls pulse with the same blue energy. On each of the doors a sign is posted “Only one may enter.”

    Music plays on loop:

People who subscribe get the exact same experience as they did before, including free stuff. People who don't have the money or don't wish to pay monthly can also play a cut down version, with options to buy extra stuff.

It makes sense because even if only one in a hundred of the people playing on the Free version actually buys something, that's still a sale they wouldn't of got if it had been subscription only.
  17. It is a very viable business model, the number of people who are willing to pay $15 every once in awhile for something (Be it a new character slot/race/costume/etc) are far larger than those willing to pay $15 a month for game access.

Given that the island is pretty busy with ghosts right now (Dead mercs at A8, and more in the jungles) finding a communication line that may not even be 'pointing' in the direction of the ship.
