Quote:I'm actually curious, if they're this upset over a dollar, what do they do when something that's actually bad happens? And don't forget, if they buy more then a month at a time, or use certain time cards, it's even less then a dollar.
Who is upset over a dollar? I'm a little bit narked about 30+ hours of downtime that's all aimed at the prime play time of a couple of time zones.
2 hours a week, no problem. 30+ in a week and a bit? That's pushing it a bit. -

Quote:Going by the logic of "getting every last penny's worth you paid for" if you paid the $15 this month then you could, at most, play for 720 hours (24X30) this month. Do you normally play around 720 hours each month or do you manage a few hours of sleep/work/school/eating in that time as well?
This idea that that you deserve compensation for the lost "portion" of time you paid for is laughably ludicrous given that basically NO ONE plays as many hours as we've ALL technically paid for.
I've got to ask, you're from NA aren't you? -
Quote:I only hope that I can someday live in a world where missing out on a few hours of playing a GAME made me think it was reasonable and justified enough to get the company running that game to either refund me a whole entire DOLLAR or give me an extra day to play. I only wish I had so little to worry about that something like -this- would be important enough to get upset about.
There's a thing call "choosing your battles". This is not a battle worth fighting.
30+ hours all down to maintance, and emergency maintance, all scheduled in my prime play hours. I'd like that time that I've paid for that was denied due to Paragon's snafu, credited to my account. What is wrong with that?
Who said I'm upset, I'd just like to see that Paragon has any form of loyality to their subscribers. If boohiss Activ-Blizzard can do it, surely Paragon who aren't apparantly all evil scumbags, who feast on the tears of the frustrated, can do it to? -
Quote:I don't believe they have actually done this. Or at least I didn't get the email.
No they haven't because despite the way they act some times, Paragon aren't staffed entirely by dimwits (other than marketing it seems), however it is what posters have been suggesting Paragon are perfectly within their rights to do so, nay should do so according to some of the shining wits in this thread. -
-
Honestly from a paid for point of view? It should go up to level 50. I mean some one went all out on the cutscene, the new maps, and then some one just phoned in the mobs.

Quote:While true, in this case, I think that it would be. If my cable goes out due to an electrical storm, does the cable provider pay me back, despite the fact that I pay for a full month of cable at a time, and I won't be getting that? No, they certainly don't. The reasonable man argument would uphold this end of the EULA.
WoW gives players back subscription time, should the game become unplayable for less time than Paragon has been down inthe last two weeks.
You're forgeting this isn't a random hurricane knocking over a powerline, this is schedulded, planend maintance or the results of poorly executed previous maintance.
It's also to prepare to for future customers, refunding the players the lost time, what does it cost them? It means instead of some one paying them on the 20th they pay on the 21st or the 22nd.
To use your IP example, this is them cutting service to you several times over a two week period, so that they can offer service to a new housing estate. If that happened, I'm pretty sure they would give you the extra time before your next bill.
Telling the players to go **** themselves and hiding behind the EULA? What will that cost them? Well players and word of mouth back lash for one. -
-
I'd like my account credited the lost time, so that if my subscription were to end on the 13th it would now end on the 14th. Other MMO's do it.

Quote:The fact that time travel exists in City of Heroes makes that sort of retcon even less excusable. It might be cheap, but time travel isn't a retcon. The past still happened, and it doesn't have to be revoked from anyone's backstory, because from their perspective it still happened. And the unaltered past can be viewed in the Ouroboros, so it exists on a concrete level. It might be cheap depending on how its done, but its still better than "I changed my mind, it all happened differently."
Except... Ouroboros, exists so people can't retcon stuff.
That's pretty much most of their job.
"Oh no Ms Liberty just tried to stop Arachnos forming, guess who is going to be the guy on the grassy knoll? Pro-tip its you!" -
Why are people raising issue of story and so on? It clear that one part of Paragon was lazy, and rather than creating a level 10-50 arc, opted for using a mob group that capped at level 20, could they have made ti cap at 50? Sure. Did they limit it due to narrative placement in our hero/villain lifeline? Probably not.

Quote:No one can give you your playing time back, or change the daytime working hours of the our continent, so it doesn't suck for you yet again. But am thinking there are all kinds of nice things our brilliant Community Reps have done to make players feel important. I vote (what do you mean, there's no vote for this stuff??) for a big EU-only perk!
This, this is what bugs me. How ******* good is the server crews union, if they can't come in nights once in a blue moon? -
Quote:OOOOHHHHHH I know!
Lets not do any server maintenance ever to interrupt anyone's game time and when the servers break really hard we can have no game for weeks, ya that's better. You all are so right!!!!
Let's not do it to the same ******* group of customers each ******* time, how about that? -

I'm with you on this. Unless it's something major like 2+ days without service, it's not worth my time or effort to sit on hold for 30min+ and deal with CSR for a $2 refund.
Funny enough with this second down time, it will be close to 2days of down time in the last two weeks, just for EU players. -
Quote:How often do you get money back from your power, ISP and/or cable company when you lose any of those services for a period of time?
While I think your reaction to this is perfectly understandable I think your request is not likely going to happen. At best we'll get some Paragon Points for this but actual money? Hardly...
Actually I get a refund everytime. Thanks. -

Fantastic maps, great writing, but the mobs were just phoned in. Why not a new group of pumicite that go up to level 50? Why not a new group of lost that go up to 50? (Beam rifle lost anyone?)
Seems to let the rest of the arc down. -
A third case of drowning on dry land.
Last night one Mark Dougan was found drowned outside the Dirty Frog, it is believed the R.I.P have a witness to what is now being classified as a serial murder case. -
Would of prefered it if it could of been run at level 50, maybe they could just change it at a later point to use a new group that goes up to level 50?
-
Drowning on dry land?
Rogue Island Police, have once again discovered the body of a man drowned, several miles from any free standing water. The R.I.P have yet to say whether they believe it to be the work of a super villain, gangland punishment or a bizarre method of suicide. -
Yay another prime time EU downtime,I love those, thank you ever so much for spoiling us with another, wow four in a week and this one is even on a Saturday wow, thank you ever, ever, ever so much.
-
So not to sound overly bitchy, but are they going to give us anything at all for essentially ******* over the EU players?
-
Might park an alt or two there, just to wait and see if it becomes a popular server for running the Itrials.
