In the skies above the Island
Emerald flew high above the island, one hand clutching tightly at a small talisman hung on a golden chain around her neck. The charm had been a gift from her friend and employer Sylph and she'd been told it would shield her from sight and so far she'd not had any difficulties. She still had no idea what had drawn her to the island but she'd been on the edges of the 'Open Season' since the start, sharing information that came her way and her recent part in one of Tomb's bounties. Something in her wanted to see it's end for herself but she still felt reluctant to help either side. Istead she freewheeled above the island slowly growing more secure in her invisibility. -
Shall add that as a suggestion to the template pages later (or tomorrow as I'm sleepy!) But people are free to call their files what they like as they're their pages. I just thought it'd provide people who are daunted by colours and coding a little more to play with. ^^
Also thanks for small tweaks on things I copy/pasted and didn't get around to adjusting! ^^;; -
Thanks ransim!
----
also, I've been a busy Bunny. i keep getting comments on the layouts of my pages and requests for help so I thought I'd add some quick guides and templates to the handbook for people who'd like a little help tarting up their pages:
* Page Templates * Only two up so far; a Praetorian Police File and a Vanguard File but I plan to add more plus some basic coloured background & border type pages very soon
* Colour Help * I noticed that a few people seem daunted by colour customisable templates like the EXCharacterBox put together by Crazy Dragon & Oreso so I put together a guide to help give people a nudge in the right direction.
...if these end up at all appreciated I may do more along these lines, until then happy editting guys! ^^ -
Somewhere is St. Martial
Kimiko idly fiddled with a small metallic cube covered in buttons and blinking lights as she relaxed on a comfortable sofa. "So, don't you feel the slightest bit tempted?" She questioned her compaion who sat with their back to her at the other side of the room. Playfully she threw the cube up in the air and caught it again, a smile curling her lips. "You hid away for so long and now there's chance to strike back. Get some revenge, kill some monsters, make some cash"
Slowly the young man on the other side of the room stopped his work, the tools on his crab backpack falling silent. "You're the only one that came after me.." Shop quietly countered "..everyone else wanted Game" he added risking a glance over at his one time captor, now friend. Immediately he regreted it as she stretched out languidly, her small shirt riding up further.
Hiding his embaressment at looking by quickly returning to his crafting he cleared his throat before continuing "What about you? Are you going to carry on messing with the hunters or are you going to join in the monster hunting for profit?"
"It was never about the money" Came a purred reply "that was just a happy bonus! me and my boys aren't needing many upgrades these days." Slowly her metallic cat ears gave a small twitch "...and was that an attempt to get me helping your Hyenas?"
"They're not mine they're.." '...dad's' he silently finished his sentence as Kimi cut him off.
"Word is Aquis is wanting to train you to run it, and you'll need new talent, especially through and after all of this Open Season stuff. Sure you want your brother to be there but you have to hold the fort 'til then" Stretching again she watched his back closely as she referred to 'Game as shop's brother, but yet again she found herself without a telling sign from the young man. All this time and she'd still been unable to work out what the relationship between the two men was and why they were keeping it so quiet.

Streets of Steel Canyon, Monday Evening, 11th October
Emerald walked without any real purpose through the streets of Steel Canyon. Her black and green wings fluttered slightly in the night wind and she idly swung a tiny impractical bag that matched her pale cocktail dress a she went on her way, her mind elsewhere. It had been an odd night. She was often hired out by assistants or other underlings for their bosses business dinners but today had been different.
The request to wear the dress and makeup provided wasnt an alien one to the sometimes escort, a lot of the rich and powerful were very particular in their tastes and their events had to be just so down to the woman adorning their arm for the night. The fact her date for the evening had been some sort of lich, a magician just about cheating his death through magics, hadnt passed her either. Nor had the request that they slip away somewhere more private after the meal. It was all part of the job...
The seizure induced in the well dressed man after one brief stolen kiss was what had caught her so sublimely offguard. A brief touch of their lips and hed been writhing in agony on the floor cursing her name. It had been then that the mans subordinate that had hired her turned up and it had all fallen into place. Shed helped an embittered minion claim overthrow his master and claim one of the Open Season counter-bounties put in place by Tomb.
She was still unsure how to feel over being used, shed had a good number of additional notes thrust in her direction as the still twitching man was dragged away. She wondered what she would have said if shed been told the more exact terms of what she was getting into in advance. She also wondered about the lipstick, that something could be concocted that it wouldnt effect her but would take the lich down was a notion that only birthed more thoughts. That it was possible to take down some men, and women, with something as simple as a kiss, the amount of people she could be used to harm. It was both a terrifying thought and also a little exciting. Shed never personally assassinated anyone and she loved the adrenaline buzz of a new experience.
But, she silently questioned, was it right? Life was short enough for most without her meddling.. Shed not thought a jot on the bounties, save the safety of those closest to her, until now. Now she had an ethical debate raging in the back of her mind and wanted more than anything to set aside her conscience for just a while. -
Added stall info to first post - as you can see there are 10 free stalls if anyones character wishes to nab!
-
Looking forward to seeing people tonight
-
It also gives another talking topic for the Merc Ball on Saturday if it comes up before then.
-
I have put stalls into the main meemingling area and the green room - most have a general theme to them already & 2 in the green room are entirely empty at the mo. If you already have a coalition with the Club you're welcome to go have a look and claim any stall - I can make edits to any stall to tweak it to your needs ^^

Thanks to everyone who came along!

*pootles off to check out the screenshots on the hubby's computer* -
Just a quick reminder that this is next week!
-
Look forward to seeing people tonight (probably with an array of characters as I can't decide who to play!)

Knowing what Blade Racer is planning it could work well alongside the potentiality of Tomb putting out a bounty too, it'll give some people (merc types especially) options. it really doesn't need much just a nudge to open the doors to people who were here at the start but for whatever reason found it hard to grasp at the middle of the plot.
-
This is the problem I have; it's become Court vs Nighthunters rather than the original Council of X (through Bathory) vs all Monster Hunters, bringing in all merc types. It's gotten increasingly insular, coming to focus more on two groups rather than the whole community. it needs something to widen it to be accessible to all if you want it to have a big climax as a community plot as opposed to a SG one.
I'll have a think and try to come up with more productive suggestions. -
As a follower of Open Season, this Tomb thing feels like a spinoff of the original plot, ending it wouldn't feel like a climax to Open Season for me personally so I shan't cast a vote. Either way I hope people have fun with it

Around the Isles and out of the way places in Paragon...
All over the Rogue Isles and in a select few places in Paragon City a small flyer has a habit of appearing. Seemingly from nowhere it turns up in a place just out of the corner of the eye of anyone of a mercenary persuasion, be it on noticeboards, bartops or in a few cases in a person's home:
It's time for the Mercenaries Ball once again, a gathering of all those willing to do what it took to make a good solid buck. Whispers amongst the right mercenary channels say that again The Corporation are hosting the event and that The Succubi club was chosen as the venue to allow room for more attendees and entertainments alongside the talk of business. The event promises to offer more of what the one in July delivered; sales, business deals, networking, socialising and more. But beyond that, in the run up to Halloween the Ball takes on a more arcane focus - sale of weapons for fighting supernatural threats, contracts for protection from the otherworldly, even some more magical beings offering their services to create a threat to heroes that could be dismissed as part of the season and not a direct attack and much more..
Club Location & Layout
Location
The Succubi Club is a speciality club located primarily within Cap au Diable but is connected to the portal system that runs throughout the Isles to assist with easy access. Situated in Cap au Diable, the main entranceway to the club can be found within easy walking distance of Aeon City. Just take the eastern ramp down into the city and you'll see our building sat to the left of the Dark Gallery.

The Rules
General Rules if the club:
✠Have respect for those around you. Just because you enjoy something it doesn't mean those around you do. If you are about to indulge in something that may make others feel awkward please ask their permission before continuing or move to somewhere more private.
✠ Hostile acts are suppressed within the club using mystic wards, however we expect our patrons to try to be civil with one another so these wards won't be needed. The club is designed as a place for people to come together, if you have a dispute, take it to an arena.
✠ Respect the staff. Whilst the staff are open and friendly people they are also doing their jobs and clients are expected to listen to them and honour any instructions they may give.
Rules specific to the event:
✠ Non members of the club are welcome for the evening, however please be aware we expect everyone to behave as though they are member, respecting our rules as outlined above. Some of our services will be porvided as standard to members and can be provided to guests for an additional fee.
✠ Please respect the nature of the club, we are a group devoted to enjoying a wide aspects of life as such you may not approve of some of the rooms or patrons or the things they do. If you are uncomfortable in a public area you are free to ask anyone to stop what they are doing but please do not start arguements. If in doubt of how the club operates please consult a member of staff.
✠ Respect one another I know it has been stated many times above but a mutual respect between guests will help ensure a fun evening for all.
((The OOC))
I did say I was planning on making these roughly quarterly, so here it is the second Mercenaries Ball hosted by The Corp. Whilst the Monkey Bar was good I decided that using an actual SG base would work out a little better. it stops those heroic vigilantes crashing the party and also allows me to set up stalls so less imagination is required for the layout.
The Succubi Club currently has free coalition spaces so if a few from the same villain group plan to attend I can set up a coalition either beforehand or on the night. I will also be on a Succubi Club character for the event so I can give team invites and temporary SG invites for the groupless.
---------
Update 22nd Sept: Map & Rules added. I'll be putting the stalls/booths in closer to the time and will nab some screenies of those.
Events within events: As I have a habit of complicating things I'm working on some ideas to help keep the flow of RP going just in case of any stagnation, all of these are loose ideas and can be scrapped on the night. My favourite is the auction however:
At 8:30PM the stage will be thrown open to anyone offering their services to the highest bidder, all to be handled IC, if your character has a stupid amount of money feel free to make insane bids, just try not to get too insane. This is slated to be something professional but the staff could be very easily talked into a bachelor/bachelorette auction to add lightheartedness to the evening.
I'm also working on some ideas for gambling games if these would be of interest to anyone.
..but yes, more to come! *scurries away*
I really am hoping to see a good turnout for this one and if anyone wants to have set up a stall offering a particular item/service please let me know before the event and I will make sure one is set up tailored to the character's wishes ^^ Watch this space for further updates (rules of the venue, layout etc etc) -
With a sad smile and a nod Wrath easily cleared the distance between herself and Schmitt. "Just rest, I'll get us somewhere safe" She told him, her voice both caring yet oddly firm as though she would do something unpleasant if he didn't rest. Kneeling beside him she caressed the ground, icy blue roots of an alien plant breaking the earth and growing into a small tree, it's foliage a chilling silver mist that settled over the heroes bodies, clinging to Schmitt's wounds.
"Next time. We'll make him pay for doing this." -
Apologies to TheO and Liz for Wrath's lack of action throughout that, real life has been a pain but I am checking in again now ^^;;
