Anybody remember The Thunderbirds as a first run show? Or any of the other Gerry Anderson puppet shows, like Captain Scarlet?
-
I turned 48 2/16
I remember Pong.
Who remembers the original Railroad Tycoon? Or better yet, the first time that head bobbed to the surface of the cauldron, in Elvira, Mistress of the Dark the game?
I had a Commadore Amiga 2000.
I played Ms. Pac Man in the Pinkly Pub in the basement of Hunter College
I also used to watch Tobor The 8th Man, Gigantor and Astroboy. I remember Space Ghost as a hero.
I used to watch the Winchell Mahoney Club fer cryin' out loud.
Krazy Kat and her nemesis Ignatz.
I remember when Heckle and Jeckle as well as Buzzy the Crow were part of the Harveytoon line-up. Before the precursor to 'Political Correctness' relagated them to the bargain bin.
I never played and D&D with pencil and paper. Because I was waiting for this game. I always knew it would get here eventually.
I've played; EQ, WoW and Shadowbane. But once I discovered that it was possible to create and play with the type of comicbook heroes that I still read and love, I was a goner. -
The following info does not originate with me. I merely copied it. It was helpful however.
You will need:
1) An image you like (screenshot of your CoH Toon maybe).
2) Image editing software (demo of Photoshop is easy to get).
3) An internet connection (you do have one dont you?)
4) A place to host your image (I may have idea on this one).
Step one: GET AN IMAGE
Take some screenshots of you favorite City of Heroes toon, or pick any image you like.
Step two: EDIT YOUR IMAGE
You can edit your image any way you like, but the main thing you must do is crop the image and resize it to 80 pixels by 80 pixels (about an inch by an inch).
Step three: FINDING A HOST
There are a variety of sites offering hosting for avatars and other images, most either charge or are advertising scams (sorry if you run this sort of site and feel justified in doing so, I got very depressed while I was looking for a good one). Fortunately I can save you this hassle (yay me!). Head over to http://www.imageshack.us/ they have a very nice, easy to use, site that stores images for free (you dont need to register, but it might be an idea).
Step four: GET YOUR IMAGE WORKING HERE
Imageshack will provide an URL to your image when it is uploaded, copy this URL into your account settings here and there you go, your toon for all to see.
If you find the above helpful, all credit must go to the person who wrote it. Unfortunately, I no longer remember who that is. -
"Faster than a speeding ticket
More powerful than an unlit votive
Able to leap the third rail in a single bound
'Look, under the ground,' 'It's a worm,' 'It's a train,' 'It's Towerman...'"
Yes, it's Towerman, strange visitor from an outer borough.
Who came to work, with powers and abilities far beyond those of normal men.
Towerman, who can change the course of mighty line-ups.
Bends steel with his bare hands.
And who, disguised as Lil ol me. Mild mannered civil servant for the great Metropolitan Transit Authority.
Fights a neverending battle for Truth, Justice and an occasional AVA.
There! you've wormed it out of me. Now you know my secret identity.
I guess I'll just have to enter the Superhero Relocation Program.
I hope you're satisfied. -
Color me embarassed. But despite my chagrin, the fact that he is devoted to you also came through in the video. Especially if he was the primary male character and you were the dark lady.
If this assumption also proves to be erroneous...
Well then the video's still great, and I shall sneak away quietly. -
First off.. belated, but nonetheless sincere Birthday greetings!
I am continually amazed at the creative genius exhibited by the members of this community.
Your video exceeds the boundries of this game. And in my opinion catapult you into the realm of the talented professional.
The timing and the strings of macros alone are worth the kudos. And the choice of song... Well I have a soft spot for doo-wop anyway.
You had me from Hello.
Brilliant work, Amusing work, Memorable. Thank-you.
Miss Abyss, Now and forever I am your unabashed fan. -
I agree wholeheartedly. My female alts are as your's are as well.
-
Yes indeed real girls do look good in pigtails. REAL GIRLS!!
Neither do they tend to run around the streets in thongs. Do You? You missed the point. I have nothing against pigtails. Just adults in thongs in the streets in what is a traditionally pre-pubescent hairstyle. it is entirely appropriate for a 15 yearold girl to do so. Not a 20, 30 or 45 yearold man. Get it now? -
Rad let it go and move on. Life is too short and this is a game fer cryin' out loud. Brawl I'll team up with you any time. Good attitude.
-
I don't really have any objections to in-game genderbending per-se. Heck, I have a couple of female alts myself. Although the proliferation of adult sized, thong wearing heroes with pre-pubescent pigtails is a tad disturbing. I mean what's really going on here... Is it merely adolescent male immaturity manifesting itself. Or something more prurient, like an incipient pedo problem. Who knows? Probably a bit of both. But I don't let my feathers get ruffled if I make a mistake in identifying the gender of the Player.
