Guantlet seems to be broken right now. Up until a bit after I6, I held aggro just fine without ever resorting to taunt. Now I'm back to throwing taunt around like crazy and sometimes THAT doesn't work.

No, something is wonky with aggro in general right now, not just gauntlet.

I'll have to agree... I've noticed I'm able to keep my core little bunching of baddies around my tank, but have a lot more running around than I ever did before. The most I noticed a problem was duoing with a friend earlier. He was an Invuln/ tank and I was a Sonic/Sonic defender, and he couldn't hold aggro on anything from my weak little blasts... He spent most of his time trying to save me because every time I hit something he had aggro on it would turn to take me out.

Frankly... I'd rather have Gauntlet than Defiance or Vigilance.

You haven't thought things through. I'd take any version of Defiance, even a nerfed one, and run laughing all the way to the bank.

Good God...Ice would be such a scary....lmao....funny. Thanks for the laugh.

Lol, alright, let me clarify... I think Gauntlet is more useful for tanks than Defiance is for blasters or Vigilance for defenders. I agree, either Defiance or Vigilance would be magnificent on a tanker. */em drool*
  3. Frankly... I'd rather have Gauntlet than Defiance or Vigilance. Defiance has only been useful to me pre-lvl15, or in the .4 seconds before I eat concrete. And Vigilance? If my team's dying, giving me an endurance discount never helped me a bit. It's not endurance I want during those times, it's speed. Sure, Gauntlet is near-useless in PvP... so what? We don't need an inherent, we were mostly granted one because everyone else got shinies. The villains were balanced around their inherents, we got them to keep us from feeling left out.
  4. Now, I don't have numbers for damage, but I do have a story to relate.
I recently rolled an Energy/Energy blaster, and was at lvl10 when doing FF with a large team in the Hollows. We were in the middle of a pitched battle fighting a +2 mob, and being a large single-target damage dealer, I focused on the boss. Within about 30 seconds, and having aggroed more than I intended, I was dropped to 2 HP. I was ready for the face-plant, but it didn't happen... I actually remained there for over 30 seconds, because, miraculously, the Lead Brick kept missing. I checked my defiance meter: never even hit 30%. How is 25% extra damage supposed to help me when I'm staring down a red boss and I have 2 HP left?

Then, an hour later, standing in front of Ms. Liberty after leveling up and buying/selling, I noticed my defiance was at 10%, and bobbed a couple times between 0 and 10%, when I hadn't taken a single point of damage in over 5 minutes and was at full health. I'm not gonna get into the "is defiance worth it" discussion, but based on my experience it's not working as the devs intended. If we can't count on it to work as it's supposed to 100% of the time, then we can't count on it at all.
