Quote:People might stop complaining about it's long animation time if it did.As always, thanks for the hard work! Mids is one of the core foundations that make this game so incredibly fun to play!

There is one weird bug though. The damage numbers are insanely high. At least, when I opened my Dual Pistols/Energy Manipulation Blaster the power Pistols is said to do 1120 damage! Don't get me wrong though, I'd love it if Executioner's Shot did 2374 damage.

Heh...I don't mind the extra testing, I was just wondering if it was a problem on my end or happening to everyone.
-
One bug I found...
Making a Mastermind Build...selected 2 tier 1 epic power, and it wasnt unlocking the tier 3 power.
The Tier 3 would unlock if I selected a tier 2 power however. -
Quote:I do the same thing.I have several "natural" characters that are Alien to this planet so their species natural abilities cover their travel powers. A few of the others cross into the sci/tech areas for theirs. Ninja run covers one or two of them.
Cars/Motorcycles, etc fall into the tech side. Not high tech, but still tech.
I'll echo McBoo in wishing there was a different standing pose for Ninja Run. I'll turn it off if I'm stopping anywhere for more then a moment because it just doesn't look right to me. But that's my quibble.

It's funny, I can see my characters run that way, it feels very comicy booky (not all though, for them I just dont use Ninja Run...but those ones usually have a travel power of another sort)...but the idle standing doesnt work for any of my concepts.
So I just toggle it off

Quote:*sniff* I did. I always forget that with Win7.Also, an add on for anyone that misses it, because I did at least three times;
Save it to desktop and then run as admin if you are using Windows 7!
I got three errors, trying to run it, save then click it and updating via the automatic updates. Then I remembered, for some reason, it HAS to be run as admin to work. And it replaced the old version just fine when it did.
In case people make the same mistakes I did ^^; -
Quote:I found my problemHmmmm, I will take a look and see what is going on.
Look at the post from Zombie Man that is directly above your post. Also, updating through the actual Mids' program does not work. When the update window comes up it tells you to go to then Titan Network homepage to download the new version.
<_<
I forgot I need to run as administrator.

Quote:Usually I don't.That happens in game. As your character, not as player. By weird stuff I mean lag, rubber banding, game bugs, DCing, extra.
To prime the pump sort of, I'll give you all examples of what I mean.
Dcing during a task force. We all had this happen to us. We come back and in chat say "sorry I DCed", but what if you came back, and said in character, "Stupid Ouroboros meddlers, yanked me right out of time to do a dumb mission that any one else could do. And then they miss the target time when sending me back...arggg. Oh...wait you all are cleared to know about Ouroboros, right??"
Ok, folks have at it. I hope that you can come up with some good stuff.
But during A SG meeting, I got mapserved, came back, decided I'd switch costumes, and said my toon has started to basically shimmer out of exsistence, and came walking back into the room.
Happening to be doing a SG wide RP story that dealt with my toon iin the future messing with time, so it worked
But other than that, I don't. Just wouldn't make since most of the time. -
YAY!
Just one question...do we have to uninstall the old one? I seem to be having problems getting the update to work. -
Quote:Heh...I really wasn't debating the issue. I've RPed with people who go about it in various ways A LOT!Want me to make a separate topic to debate an dto show my explainations for all? XD
One of the best PuG I had, we we're RPing the whole time, and the leader RPed, the level up aspect, inspirations, enhancements...ect...ect.
I just rolled with it and RPed, and in the back of my mind just thought of it as happening a bit differently than actually occured. -
Ninja Run! It works great!

That doesn't make me happy at all. I'm perfectly fine with how it's setup now, makes it riskier, so makes it more fun. I don't want it changed.

Quote:You know, I still think if you're advertising yourself as your powerset, you should be including that you skipped the team buffs before you get on a team.City of Heroes is a funny game. I like to look at the mechanics much like I look at TF2 mechanics. You can do obviously silly, funny, or downright unorthodox things and still succeed with life and limb to spare. Dark tank magically holding Recluse aggro? Sure. A team of petless Masterminds attempting a Strike Force? You bet!
You will, however, meet the serious person who does not necessarily have a whimsical outlook on the not-so-serious situations presented in a game. As such, you will most likeky meet the person I like to call "Sir Ragesalot" or "Minicus Maximus". Minicus Maximus, as I am so fond of, will demand the best of the best of the BEST from his or her teams, and anything shortcoming of their goal will ultimately be weighed down onto the "Gimpicus Minimus" or the player who isn't tailored exactly to absolute maximum efficiency. In this case you should analyze the team leader through shrewd pre-team tells or through his or her actions while teamed.
Remember! Look first, then leap.
ex...
"Lvl 48 Thermal Defender lft"
I'm going to invite (if looking for a defender) because, besides those debuffs, I'm thinking "Yummy Sheilds" (and having two thermals at 50, I cant see why you wouldn't take them, they cause you to have to spam less of the heals to begin with).
but that is small potatoes compared to...A petless MM.
While I've only ran into one, and didn't kick him from my team, I promose you, I didn't invite him back.
"Lvl 32 MM lft" I expect to see they're being a Mastermind over something.
"Lvl 32 Perless MM lft" I can at least know if I invite them, I'm getting a weaker Corruptor basically. A LOT WEAKER.
However, saying "Lvl 32 MM lft" and I invite you to the team, and you don't have pets, I wouldn't be happy.
You see MM lft, you're thinking "hmmm...pets for damage, and some buffs/debuffs...unless it's a forcefielder/thermal...then it's only a 50% chance they'll even give the buffs to the team"
(I made that 50% up
But, I've seen enough MMs do that.
)
I wouldn't hold it against anyone for kicking a petless MM. How could anybody. I understand it's about having fun. But...let them know! -
Quote:That is really misrepresenting the situation slightly. Fiery Assault only has one true Melee attack, correct. However it is still built very differently from a Blast set. In particular it lacks a tier 9 nuke and a ranged targeted AoE which are staples of blast sets. Instead it's second AoE is (like most Assault sets) a PBAoE with a 15ft range, something that is unusual but not unheard of in melee/assault sets.
So even using Fiery Assault as a template to converting DP to an assault set you realistically have three powers that need replacing:
Rain of Bullets (assault sets only have one ranged AoE, which is always a cone)
Suppressive Fire (assault sets don't get mez powers for obvious reasons)
Hail of Bullets (assault sets don't get nukes, even mini-nukes)
You could probably make a decent set by replacing those three with some combination of powers from Martial Arts (reanimated to avoid redraw obviously) although personally I'd still prefer Sword and Pistol.
Rain of Bullets they can turn into a PBAOE attack. Same Animation, it's just a PBAOE instead of targeted AOE.
Suppressive Fire can become a pistol whip attack.
Hail of Bullets keep as is, or tweak some of it's numbers. It's a mini nuke status is a bit different than the real NUKES. But they could always lower the damage/end/recharge for the same attack just not as powerful. -
Quote:Now, here I think you're wrong. I have an Elec/Thermal Corr. And unless you're actually draining those mobs, then every bit of end you're draining, isnt helping if they're still attacking alot.Obviously, you don't really understand the concept of an Offender. Offenders use all of their abilities to aid their team, not just their primaries. My Emp/Elec Defender does just that. You know why? Because every little bit of Endurance and health that I can drain off of the bad guy helps the team. Not just my 2 heals, Fort, CM, RecA, RegA, and AB. Or the occasional Rez when RegA wears off at an inconvenient time.
If you were to tell me to stop blasting away, just so I could heal you more. I'd do one of two things. Quit the team (which would be the polite thing to do) or I would just not buff you.
That makes me very happy that I won't be teaming with you. Because I'd be bruising your delicate ego with my Controller that can tank better than many Tanks that he's teamed with.
I love KB. Even on my Melee characters. However, I know how to use KB. I have found that those who whine and complain the most about KB never learned to use it properly.
In other words, Lrn2Play!
No, he had it right. You want Defenders to have you on Follow with their buffs on auto because you haven't actually learned to play with others yet.
About the only thing I would kick someone for is them being a jerkwad who thinks they know the "only" way to play the game. And yes, I have kicked people from my team before.
But that's more of Electric Blasts failings. -

Quote:I didn't say it couldn't be. I just said it's in the minority to such a degree as I'd rather see other things done first. There are a LOT of "fat" concepts that are very much in line with "Super Hero" that I would love to see. The Blob was always one of my favourite villains growing up (NOTHING MOVES THE BLOB!), and Huge just doesn't work for that feel. I'm also fun of the overweight speedster (named simply "Speed") villain from Sky High, which is a movie very much in the "Super Hero" feel.
Writing off "fat" as "not super" shows a lack of imagination.
A Ranged (or Assault)/Defense AT would fall much more in line with alot of comic book super hero feel, and look at posters saying "No" to that.
And that would allow way more concepts to be realized than a fat slider.
Which is why I say keep it one of the last things on the agenda, as there are so many other things they could be doing to full fill more concepts at once that would likely need less work.
A fat slider would need to go in and fix all the costume pieces to fit in with the added bulk, when already there are some costume sets that clip with what we have.
I'd rather see them work on new costume pieces, than fix the others to work with a new slider. But with that, when they got around to a fat slider, would just mean even more work to get it right. -
Quote:Well, Fiery Assault only has one melee attack, and /Fiery Assault users have skipped it.Well, the Dominator secondaries all contain a number of melee attacks. So unless you can come up with two different ways to smack your opponent with pistols and find two powers for them to replace, it probably won't happen.
Not that it wouldn't be totally awesome, it just wouldn't really work. =/
However, that said, I could see them nixing Suppressive Fire for a more damaging pistol whip style attack outside of Brawl. -
Quote:Hmmm...if you work well with Blasters, and if Fire/Fire isn't working for you, have you thought of Plant/Fire or Mind/Fire?Only controller I've decently played is an Ill/empathy...So no luck there.
But part of what I realized on this dom is how much I could treat it like a blaster with a few statuses...And blasters I work with quite well.
The Controls > Ranged > Melee is how I do it, too. So far, I only go into melee on teams with Hot Feet running, just to play with the slows and the PBAoE hold.
And as to what bugged me the most? It just never clicked for me. But I keep trying, because I'm crazy like that...And I started having fun with this one. Sure, I die all over the place, but now that I have SOs, things are going much smoother...Albeit I'm still dying.
While still working on getting a Dom to 50 (Fire/Earth looks to be that one
It works for my playstyle)...there's been quite a few combos that I felt played like a Blaster with Mezz effects.
So tack on Domination, I basically feel like I'm playing a better blaster.
Mind you, /Earth Dom isn't the choice for the Blaster Dom...but /Fire, /PSI give that feel to me. -
Well alot of that depends on the set, even at higher levels. to many times I've let recipes sit at WW's for a 1 months time, and not gotten them to sell at all :/ And for the one's that do sell, i usually would of gotten more selling to a vendor.
