It's hard to say. I 'd definitely take it over tremor if you picked that up. You could try throwing a Force Feedback chance for Rech into it, although I'm unsure how it would perform for you. Thing is I'm trying to compare it too much to stone melee's fault which is one of my favorite powers just since it's a huge source of mitigation, but doms already have a whole primary of mitigations. I'd pick it up if you feel you need more aoe damage and that would be likely it.
The fact that Doms essentially have a ranged Fault with damage makes me very jealous. -
Well I was going to post my build I found but it seems I accidentally overwrote that file with a PB build. Whoops :/.
But as Sir Hextor said, it's not a bad idea to use aegis in your build. for every two you slot you get 5% run speed which comes in handy. Currently my SS/Stone brute is at 39 so I'm not quite done with my build.
Usually once my run speed is high I'll do the trash missions using only granite since rooted can be overkill as far as mez protection, as well as the fact that resistances are generally very high so you're not going to get hurt much, making the run speed bonuses actually work. Mine cruises around 22+mph with just granite and when all said and done hopefully 30+ meaning I don't need a kin around.
Damage with granite is actually very surprising in that you will kill stuff. Stone is one of the few sets I think is 100 times better on a brute than a tanker for this reason.
Also be prepared to bang your head on your desk, as leveling will be painful till you hit granite. Not that the rest of the powers are bad, they just need a special build all of their own to really work properly. -
This could sound crazy but why not increase the area of tanker damage? I mean tanker damage already qualifies as aoe, even the single target hits. This kinda falls flat personally since staff and titan have large aoe radii.
Or add a tank only aura to the inherit that adds -resist? This feels like the better idea and balancing the amount of -resist could be difficult, but it could at the very least bring more appeal to bringing a tanker onto a team. All the while, making the aggro herding mechanic something that people will want to learn to do or follow?
Or dare I say undo the aggro cap for tankers alone? Could be the most dangerous,as it may make farming much more easy to do like it was pre-ae nerfs. -
Recently I've been trying to make myself push myself to fight against my alt-o-holism by playing the stuff I haven't in a long time, even if its terrible. My two projects are a blaster and a brute but I'm here about my brute. From looking around at the limited amount of stone armor for brutes builds I could find this seems to be the best for me but I'm looking to see if anyone notices anything wrong or could be better. This is a build from Mr. Apocalypse( just giving credit where it is due) I'm actually going to fund most of the build with store bought IOs for the purples and the little stuff with the house and if I get to it post 50 I'm thinking agility is the way to go as far as an alpha. Also sleepy and going to bed after I post this so sorry for my terrible grammar. He is also currently 38 and if someone has an awesome reason to go non-granite build let me know.

I can't believe I watched the WHOLE THING!
-
I know its not either of the sets you mentioned, but I have a hover km/ea brute that uses the hover to negate the kb from some of km's attacks. Makes for a nice Sorcerery type toon.
-
Quote:Actually my main 50 scrapper is a Kat/SR and that is actually how I play that toon. I use her for doing Stupid Scrapper Tricks.katana/SR (scrapper) it is an oddball because you don't need DA to get to softcap which is why most people get katana but this lets you use katana/s top attack chain with less interruption GD-GC-SD-GC.
I didn't tried myself but katana WP would be hold its ground even better. -
Quote:That actually sound great! To top it off, it seems like it will fill a concept for a toon I have as well. The stuns from stone melee is one of the major reasons I love my stone/regen brute (even though the dps is a little low feeling) nothing felt better than making entire mobs walk around like a bunch of drunks or popping them in the air like popcorn. This idea seems like it would be a big step up in terms of melee control. When it comes to melee control, it's hard to beat a Dark/Ice/Soul Tanker. The damage isn't the best, but the control certainly is.
Whatever doesn't slip and fall on the Ice Patch will be stunned. Whatever isn't stunned is afraid. Whatever isn't afraid has a reduced hit chance. Whatever manages to hit you despite all that won't do as much damage because of the debuff. Also has a ST hold for flavor. -
Recently I've been playing a Stone melee/ Regeneration Brute and so far I've rolled him to 47 and plan on finishing soon. So, What MELEE oddball combination would be fun to make next? I'd prefer something that fits well together but isn't obvious. Right now my idea is to roll with a Stone armor /Electric Melee tanker or even a brute. I'm not looking for a build either, just the basic combo ie fire/ice etc etc...
Any Ideas? -
Alright then! That is good to hear. Much appreciated for all the info from you two.
I might pick up spectral as part of my second build which will be my general mob killer full of cones and pbaoes. It's funny how often i end up having to be the one to run in and take the alpha strikes for the tanks that can't (Although I still need them due to more enemies = more chance for them to hit me) so I could tank when there isn't one available. -
I'be heard that I'm going to want the damage half of the procs but I was wondering if I would be better off with reactive's -resist or diagmatic's -hp. Or is there something better? I already have a Achilles proc in gamblers cut and if i went reactive would I want to swap Achilles with a damage proc? I've heard strange things about the way -resist stacks such as it doesn't. Sorry for any strange typos as I'm writing this on my phone.
