  1. I was just thinking that Anarchgorilla's near-defense-cap /EA Brute build will now be able to reach the soft cap for defense in issue 9 outside of it's tier 9 power. Additionally, it could be host to a number if similar set bonuses...scary.
  2. My only beef with your guide is the recommendation that Sleet be slotted with three damage. This is so wrong it hurts my eyes just to see it. A better way to slot it might be 3 recharge, 2 Debuff and 1 Acc. This is a debuffing power, not a damage dealing one. Play to its strengths.
  3. Thanks for your speedy response to my question. I just thought it would be fantastic if the immbolize in Midnight would grant us a 25% bonus to crit the affected mob. That would make Midnight on par with stalkers other lvl 32 powers (I.E. Total Focus = massive damage + disorient, Soaring Dragon = Higher crit chance, small cone and great damage etc...).
  4. Good guide overall in my opinion. I just have 1 point of contention and 1 question as it concerns midnight grasp.

    Ok, here we go.

Point of contention: ToF is a far bette rpower than you give it credit for. True, it will not "fear" a boss in one application. It will in ttwo tho and it isn't all that hard to stack. Also, and most important, ToF grants a sizable ToHitDebuff in the neighbothood of 15% when 3 slotted for THD. As I mentioned above, it is easy to stack this on a tough opponet. The result is a 30% debuff from ToF alone + other DM attacks + your base Def. This can floor a mobs chance of hitting you. OK, I feel better now.

Question about Midnight Grasp: I know that when I team with Dominators, I receieve a 25% bonus to crit while out of hide when they hold, immbolize, sleep or disorient a mob. Will the immbolize on Midnight Grasp grant me that same 25% bonus?

    Thank you for your time.
  5. I've got to agree with some of the other posters in here...this guid needs a serious overhaul. I'm fearful some new player/dom will come in here and take to heart some of this less than sage advice.
  6. Double Domination + Accolade + Power Boost?
    No.....
  7. Fantastic post here sir. DM just got a whole lot sexier! As I'm sure this was the entire reason behind your post, a hearty pat on the back is in order! Hurray!
  8. ***** 5 Stars. Fantastic guide.

Have decided to go with Fire/TA. Fire Cages + Oil slick + Flashfire = Teh Ub3r!

Also Smoke + Flash Arrow both 3 slotted for tohit debuffs = Ghetto RI or DN. Issue 7 will make Flash Arrow auto hit in PvE.

Char + Ice Arrow = Held Boss!

Entangling Arrow = wish I didn't have to take this $hit power...

    Again, great guide.
  9. the_TT,

I don't mean you disrespect you with this post BUT I feel compelled to mention that it might be the worst FM/FA guide I've read. Ever.

The Mirror is quite correct in his points. A FM/FA Brute is NOT A TANK. In any way, shape or form. It IS a minion shredding, AoE damage dealing, kill them before they kill you AT. I think you're doing a disservice to new players who aren't fully aware of pitfalls/potention of a FM/FA build. Please consider fixing some of your "information" or remove this guide all together.

Having said that. Let me make quick mention of some of the issues I have with your guide.

    1. Your build guide fails to incorporate Build Up and Firey Embrace. Brutes are about DAMAGE. Espically FM/FA's. Skimping on these two powers could GIMP a FM/FA build.

    2. Slotting CJ and weave for defense is a waste of 5 slots that could go towards more useful powers with a FM/FA. I think the combined defense of those 2 powers fully slotted for defense is 5%. NOT WORTH IT!

    3. Your belief that you "kill things too quickly" is an odd opinion to give for a damage centric AT like Brutes. Also, your understanding of Fury application is, in my opinion, badly flawed.

    4. In your build, you take many essential powers either too late or not at all. Stating that this makes a highly effective build is just a lie.

Sorry if all this comes off as a bit harsh. Again, I applaude your attempt at a guide BUT please know what you're talking about before you actually post something like this that many new players might see.

OMG I cant believe I forgot to ask this.

    8. What power is on the chopping block in place of assasins strike?
    9. Will we keep shadow maul?

I am glad it will be a resist set, finally a stalker that can take a hit without dying so fast after an assasin strike . I know defense will be getting buffed but even then I dont see it making too much of a difference given there is always that 5% of getting completely owned.

    8. I'm still sticking with my prediction of Dark Consumption, especially since ToF is confirmed to be staying in.
    9. Don't see why not, the other sets kept their cone melee attacks.

    Shadow Punch
    Smite
    Shadow Maul
    Assassin Strike
    Build Up
    Placate
    Touch of Fear
    Dark Consumption
    Midnight Grasp

    Just a guess.

I think your going to be right. I would have rather seen Shadow Maul get replaced with a faster cone power but I think they will leave it as is.

I can also see them moving Midnight Grasp up and dropping Dark Consumption into the level 32 spot. Seriously.

    Man,

I really hope they squeeze Siphon Life in there somewhere...
