No word on what this is ACTUALLY all about, yet. A bunch of Virtue folks decided to have their OWN dropship challenge, spurred by their own registration thread. Rumors spread thus.
  2. I'm gonna end up forgetting about this if we don't get some ghost of an inkling of a trace of a clue what it's about.

And can we "register" more than one character and on multiple servers?

[edit] Eh, heck with it. Also:

[editted edit] Gah, I was too tired last night - wrong server!

    * Checky says:
“Hey, if you are an Inv/??? tanker, here is a rather sweet bind.

    /bind <key> "Local ADRENALINE RUSH!!!$$ Powexec_Name Dull Pain$$ CC <explained at bottom>$$ E Frustrated"

Basically, I have this bind on my tanker, so when I used Dull Pain, I change into a costume which is the exact same as my main costume, but bigger. I also do the frustrated e-mote, which is about a close to getting mad as I could see. Try it out, it also replaces the animation for Dull Pain with you e-mote. Rather cool to do.”

Doesn't work at all. Copy-pasting it to a T didn't replace the animation. I've also been having a similar problem with World of Confusion and em evillaugh. I've tried numerous ways to do it and have succeeded on some occaisions but I can never manage to do it twice in a row. Anyone know how to consistantly overwrite static animations with emotes like that?

EDIT: Actually one thing I did differently, I used it as a macro instead of a bind. Would that make any difference?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Had similar issues as both a /bind and a /macro when trying to create one to activate FoN, use a different emote (I *hate* the ridiculous "tarzan" chest-beating nonsense - I think I tried using "alakazam" and "point", among others) and saying something in local. It actually WORKED, like... twice, and then just... stopped. After that, it would usually just activate the power, but would sometimes run one of the other elements.

I don't have the syntax handy, gave up and deleted it some time ago, but it was just weird, the way it "worked".

did the devs listen to any input about griefing? obviously not. Pi was hell on a level 41 and there is no where else to go.

    Tried Founder's?
  6. Every time I see the grey (or red) dots on Freedom and Virtue, I chuckle at the folks who deliberately moved characters there.

It's been said before, but apparently the obvious never sinks in: the other servers are less populated because folks keep mindlessly dipping into the same ones... because they're more populated...

On Justice, Liberty, Triumph and Champion (Both blue- and red-side, mind you), I've never had an issue forming 6+ member PUGs as long as I wasn't playing at 1 am.

Something people didnt seem to talk about alot so far in this thread was the voice acting. I just want to give a quick props to that cause it's one of the things that really came out and "got me". The interaction between Stephan and Marcus was spot on, and their voices just sounded great, what I would imagine LR and States would sound like.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Thank you very much! Glad you enjoyed it! I sure as heck had fun doing it, and for that matter PLANNING it... went back and listened to all the game trailers in which LR actually said anything of consequence, kinda looking for the feel, I guess.

One thing that's been mentioned elsewhere in this thread - all five of us have played PnP RPGs for decades, and have run our own games for others extensively, as well. Made it natural for all of us to "get into" a role, however short, make it "live".

Not surprising that my own "specialty" (so to speak) has always been villains... they're the characters that most motivate the heroes to do great things. Nobody feels righteous anger toward a hurricane. I feel I owe it to my players to give them "villains they LOVE to hate", and wanted to bring that with me, here.

You could do a bit in a Council cave base, then a bit in a Council cave base, then one in that multi-level pool room, then back to the Council cave base....

    I.

    Scream.

    Kil Zloth.

  9. And as for doing a short film, possibly of one of the TFs, we've discussed re-telling the Citadel TF as something OTHER than:

    "Go."

    "Hunt."

    "Kil Council."

Sorry... personal peeve of mine showing.

Quick amusing story about the voice acting from the guys... I recorded @Dust Raven first, so that John (my husband) would know the timing against which he'd have to say "We've become gods, Marcus." So DR sits next to me at the computer, puts on the headset/mike, I cue him to tell him to start, and he does a take of, "My God..."

John, sitting at HIS computer (and playing COH with the sound off while we're working), without looking up, immediately follows that with, "... it's full of stars!"

And all three of us promptly lose it laughing, thus ruining the take.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Of course, she doesn't relate MY side of this little anecdote...

She's providing DR with direction (emote, inflection, etc), and they're going through several "rehearsal" takes. So... I'm hearing "My god!.." 3 or 4 times from the other side of my computer. I don't HEAR her say that "This one's for real", and didn't know that was their first attempt at a "live" take.

At least I do a really good Dave Bowman...

She also doesn't mention something that DR said when she first broached the idea of getting us to voice-act Marcus and Stephan, the general intended "feel" of the video, the serious (as opposed to humorous) tone.

Dust_Raven: "So... I shouldn't sound like Space Ghost?" (a voice HE does really well )

Really nice...so is Incarnate the theme of the next Issue?

    More post-50 content, nice =)

Sadly, no, not to the best of our knowledge. Partly why we (mostly she ) WENT with this concept was to... encourage development in this area.

MOSTLY, it was to give a nod to the anniversary of the in-story event, but we're not averse to "plugging" our little game-related wish-list in the process.

Like any artistic endeavor - you hafta learn when to let them live on their own. Nothing's ever "perfect"... sometimes it's even those little flaws that "make" the work.

Too many of the desk items and such have those crazy crash boxes around them. I would like to see them reworked to match the actual edges of the item in question.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Trust me, all too often the "crash box" frequently has NOTHING to do with how you can (not) arrange items in relation to each other.

Was trying to build our control center a while back. If I arranged databanks from left to right, I could place them right next to each other, but if I arranged them in the OTHER direction, it wouldn't work.

Have also had difficulty... no, impossibility... centering any object directly in front of tech empowerment stations, as well as other objects.

There seems to be no rhyme, and even less reason, to some of the base building issues I've had to "work around".
  14. How about (gasp!) making more stuff stackable? Whadya mean I can't put a frikkin chair on top of the hex-pattern linoleum flooring?!? Why can't I build a wall out of mossy blocks? Why can't I put a glowing crystal on top of a stone stele? Yeah, yeah... I've read ALL ABOUT "magic desks", but A) without a demonstration, the descriptions of the process don't make sense to me, and B) I shouldn't have to go to all that trouble in the first place. If an object has a flat, horizontal top surface, I should be able to put something ON it.
  15. Get my Nec/DM MM (Bloodspeaker - Liberty - currently 48) to 50, and push my N/N Blaster (Agent Sharpe - Justice - currently 35) to wherever I can get him with the rest of the time available, considering that the wife and I share one computer... and she has characters SHE want's to level, too.
  16. Greetings, all.

My wife and I are collaborating on doing a video of heroes and villains going head to head with Rikti all over Paragon City as a trailer for I-10. However, for variety's sake, it'd be nice to get scenes from all over. If you have GOOD QUALITY Rikti invasion footage (ships flying past, bombs being dropped, or just slugging it out), please send an email directly to my wife at mtravis@samuraiko.com, subject line RIKTI INVASION VIDEO, to work it out with her on how to get it to her.

(Also, if you have any questions, please email her directly with them.)

Footage WITHOUT the HUD would be nice, but if it's just ubercool and it still has the HUD, we can work around it.

EVERYONE who submits footage that we use will get a credit in the video, as well as on my wife's website underneath the video.

We both look forward to hearing from you!
