Personally I would drop power push and take explosive blast and the torrent. Also there is no need whatsoever to slot 5 damage enhancements to anything now since ED, the 4th and 5th ones won't be doing anything useful. I would give 3 dmg to every energy power.

ive got an idea of how defiance could help a bit more. how about as the bar goes up, your defence and resistence goes up aswell? once the defiance bar is full up you will have 75% defence buff and resistence buff along with the damage buff? so the worst you are the less damage they do to you and the more damage you do to them? but i agree, it really needs to go up faster, i can get to 50 health and the defiance bar only goes up by 2 points which is didly squat to my damage

A 75% defense bonus just for dying? That's a bit much... you would hardly ever die then! -
Glad I could be of service
twas a fun battle.

Must insist you at least lose combustion and get build up

Can someone explain to me why hot feet is no good for a blaster? I can't get it until I hit my next lvl, but it doesn't sound too bad...

What power set?, cause different sets play very very differently. And one build can be handled in many different ways. Fx my build is Ice / Nrg. I could focus on control, on single target ranged damage, single target melee damage and so on. All of which would make the way I play very very different.

Unless it's a general Blaster guide to all sets, I would guess at elec/elec/elec - since that's what the Blaster in his sig has -

Ok, so it doesn't ALWAYS work

I just tried your idea, one shot didnt work (even with build up and a well enhanced sniper), but I did manage to follow up with a couple more. Luckily a respite saved me after the first hit. I then tried it on two reds with build up and energy torrent, despite having 100/100 defiance, they only lost half their health, then I died -

When you die you explode like a Nova taking everything else with youNot much fun for thr blaster but a hell of a laugh for everyone else
[/ QUOTE ]
Only if you get it in time. More than once my nova has gone off a split second too late. The nova hits, but not a single enemy loses any health. You faceplant and don't even get any xp for your loss, and you have to wait for Nova to charge! Which thanks to ED's effect on Hasten takes twice as long. Sorry to hijack the thread, just wanted to complain some. -
I don't know about an overall replacement, but I would like to see greatly increased accuracy near death.
Ever been in this scenario?
You're close to death, with no respites - you're fighting the last guy on the mission and the hospital is a long way away. You could run and rest, but the enemy will die in one, two hits maximum. Knowing you have time for those hits you stick around.
Both your last attacks miss, and you faceplant. -
I made a tanker a while back, it seemed ok but I stopped using it. Its Inv/Battle Axe
By lvl 11 I had Resist Physical Damage and Temporary Invulnerability, from Axe I had Gash, Chop, Taunt and Beheader - I also got Combat Jumping.
I felt really weak, I've been fighting a lot of Skulls and Trolls on Rugged - and I seem to take a tonne of damage, I can't take on a +1 boss alone without getting my [censored] kicked.
So I respec'd, and this time I took Resist Physical Damage, Temporary Invulnerability, Resist Elements and Unyeilding. But I still feel like I'm taking too much damage. I haven't been in a big team with this toon for a while but I'm certain that if I was, I would take too much damage to do my job as a tanker properly.
I have each invulnerability power 2-3 slotted with resist dmg enhancements.
Can someone tell me if there's something I'm doing wrong? I am new to being a Tanker... and so far I regret selecting Battle Axe - but this doesn't seem right. Has Invulnerability just been nerfed that much that everyone's in this boat? -
I wanted to see the general opinion of the "Defiance" power, since the developers are convinced it's working effectively. Personally I never stick around long enough to use it, as a Blaster, I feel that hanging around in a fight with low health is just going to get you a faceplant. I don't know what most people think though, so this isn't to prove anything, just out of curiousity.
If you don't know what defiance is, its that bar under your endurance which increases your attack power (far from proportionately) as your health decreases.
Since we cant make polls in this board, I made one here:

Burn and hot feet, neither useful for a blaster.
[/ QUOTE ]
Hot Feet is useful as Stalker-defence in PvP; Burn is pretty much useless after they removed the -Immob from the Blaster version.
[/ QUOTE ]
If they removed -Immob then why does it say in the description frees you from immobilisation holds? -
I'm Energy/Fire and I have taken Fire Sword Circle, Build Up and Consume.
Consume is awesome - my favourite way to use it is, Build Up, run to mob 1, Nova, Catch a Breath, run to mob 2, Consume - its like using Nova without the negative effect!
Since I have Stamina too, Consume leaves me with plenty of end by the time Nova's drain wears off.
What are the last 2 powers in the Fire Manip pool like? Either worth getting? -
I've heard someone say that ED ruined targetting drone. Nice KC avatar btw

I have a kind of 'Family' and most alts are connected to them somehow.
Chris, or Blaze Johnson, was a speed freak as a human and was jealous of superheroes abilities to zip around Paragon City at top speeds. He worked on ways to speed himself up, including special steroids and a unique treadmill. Whilst using it, his lab was struck by lightning, causing an energy overload. He fell into a coma and remained there for two years. Upon awakening, he found the energy had stored up inside him and had given him amazing new powers.
Being a Superhero, Blaze met fellow hero Phoenix Johnson (my girlfriend's first toon) whilst fighting Circle of Thorns on Talos Island. Eventually they married. Phoenix is from a long line of witches.
They had a son together, Jake. Jake took on a fire based name to emulate his father, Piro Johnson, and as genetic blend of his parents, he gained strange powers over radiation at puberty, and the ability to fuse together wounds and heal people.
Napalm Johnson is Blaze's father. Napalm was always absorbed in his work in the military and was once alienated from his family. However when his Son and Grandson were kidnapped by Maestro, he took it upon himself to save them. He broke into his old military base and stumbled accross a powerful prototype axe and armour which rendered him almost invincible. Using this advanced technology he won back his family and a chance at a place within it.
Blaze's Sister also gained Superpowers. Out of heavy jealousy she found her way into the dark arts, and when young and foolish, accidentally awakened the undead. When she showed them no fear, they decided to become her followers, and she took on the handle of the Mastermind, Jynxx.
The last person connected to the family is Broken Echo. Echo was born out of hatred expelled by Blaze after believing his wife a fatality of war against Recluse. Although Blaze was wrong, she was very much alive, he had snapped, filling with vengeful anger and setting off one of the most powerful Nova attacks ever. When Phoenix came to collect his weakened body she found his dark side trying to keep him there. With her sister's help she used magic to seperate his darkness - which stayed there eventually manifesting into the dark Stalker, Broken Echo.
There's also another toon but I've talked enough already -
I definitely have this problem in team mishes.
There's 2 ways to fight a big mob, both have problems.
Get an Assassin Strike in first. Then the whole mob will turn on you unless your team gets right in straight away to take some aggro.
Stand close and attack after they strike. Run the risk of being spotted for no sensible reason! You're still in hide, why have they spotted you? Your point exactly.
So what I'm saying is yes, I hear ya :P
