-An explanation of Lord Recluse's vision for the Rogue Isles early in the game. I don't think we should have to wait until the video screen at Grandville to learn that his master plan is... screw it, that he has a master plan at all.

I gotta check that screen out.

Also, hey, a productive villain complaint thread. Good ideas, too.
  2. Now people are arguing over the way in which other people are arguing.

    This thread is brilliant.

    20,000 Prestige
Also after the launch of Issue 11, all Supergroups will receive an additional 20,000 Prestige per Supergroup member, meaning SGs could acquire up to 3 million Prestige based upon their Supergroup membership roster! Actual date will be announced shortly.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I don't like to be critical of the development team, but I am not wild about this. Yes, on the surface it looks like a good thing, but the actual effect of it from now until the day it actually happens is that the established sg's will start to grab players that might otherwise join growing supergroups, thereby squeezing out struggling sg's during a critical period in their growth.

After it happens, I predict a lot of the 'placeholder' characters will be kicked from their groups, leaving them angry and (rightfully) feeling used. That will make them leery of joining another supergroup.

Overall, I guess I think this is a bad move on the new team's part.

It has good intentions though, so I am not going condemn the move based on it.

you should be using your amazing power to see into the future to prevent disasters and help the police, not look into some game's development cycle.

Hey NCsoft! The next time you do something as major and exciting and feel like doing something good for those who helped, just throw yourselves a major office party or take your employees somewhere special. Save yourselves from the whining and moaning of all these players who feel they are priviledged or deserving, for they will moan about anything you should be generous enough to give.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Note well: if you don't also invite the players to the "somewhere special", we'll complain about that too.

    [/ QUOTE ]

yeah, but if they did, there'd be complaints from people who don't live close enough to easily travel there.
  5. Wow. So, let's see...

The City of Heroes IP was sold to a company that already pretty much owned it and the crew that were working on it are moving 15 miles down the road to continue working on it.

Something about having more resources to put into the game, which, of course, sounds good.

They're giving each member free access to both versions of the game even if they already have both. They're also doing a debt wipe and giving each SG some prestige or something. And people are, of course, whining about that.

I paid for both and I don't care if they give BOTH of them free to people who don't have EITHER. What do I care? "His glass is slightly more full than mine! Waiter!" Ugh. There's plenty more in life to complain about. What do you get if you paid for both? You get the box, a nice manual printed on real paper and a snazzy disc. Mine came with a small statue. Should they send those statues to everyone who didn't get one? No.

Anyways, congratulations. I guess. I have no idea what's going on but NCSoft and the developers seem happy about it so I guess that's good.
  6. Yes. Obviously the best way to compete with other MMORPGs would be to make City of Heroes exactly like all other MMORPGs.

Are you kidding? I hate MMORPGs with a burning passion and City of Heroes is the only one I can stomach. The atmosphere's friendly, you don't have to be an elf or an orc and there's very little PvP. It's perfect.
