Perhaps NCsoft are waiting for it to go live before saying "Surprise!! We released [Enter appropriate release here] today!"

Yes.
That's what I do when I upgrade something and forget to tell the customer their online service will be going down for scheduled but unannounced upgrading. They love it when I do that. I can hear their screams of joy from across the Irish sea.

I lol'd. /em clap -
Hmm..they could be. But by this point it's fairly glaringly obvious what they're up to.
*sits here singing along to various tunes, doing a chairdance..* -
I wonder what we'd have to do to get some decent customer service...
-
Internal testing message..
Mine never actually patched, I'm still on the 19th's version number. -
Takes the servers down, buys up all the icecreams that we wanted...
*noms on her cookie* -
It'll be several months of Sunday's before Ryot's up to doing any SF's I suspect
Isn't it boring without the server up -
I call dibs on being in your team blueside!
Wait, theres more than one new one? :O -
Not even got an ETA on completion, can I go brush the cat or will it come back in five minutes time?
If it IS i15, I might have a shiny accolade when I log back in though... -

Hmm it's interesting, both US AND EU sides have gone down at the same time...
Either it's AE maintenance OR Issue 15 is on the way...
Or it's some other thing...
[/ QUOTE ]
AE fixes usually just means AE doesn't work, without bringing down the entire server. Unless they're doing something of the nerf variety. -
Yeeeeeah...nice to see the communications between departments is top notch *cough*
Is it an actual patch? Is it giving us that freespec? Is it fixing something a week after the US servers got fixed? -
I was just about to start a TF when we got the big red warning of impending doom...
*sits hitting login button* -
Also things I was trying to say but failed to
-
...aaah, but was it an exploit? Exploit suggests something that is a tad harder to find than a farming ARC mission. My main point still is that a development cockup and mistake should not be taken out on the players. I don't think the speed you get to 50 matters, what matters is if you can play the toon.
-
To me, it seems wrong to punish players for something that was created for the game, that the developers made a mistake on and didn't spot the obvious problems with it. Suspending people for using powerlevelling services is one thing, but for using something developed for the game?
-
So...punishing the players for their mistake of not thinking the MA through well enough before release?
