  1. Or Force Fields. They give hefty +defense but also protect against end drain.
  2. More to the point, let's have a good time and deconstruct this thread!

I've played so many brutes..and man this thread makes me so sad.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Argument from false authority!

    [ QUOTE ]
The key to slotting a brute and making him not only a threat on damage but not a horrible end hog you need to slot your shields. Although you should be slotting your attacks with at least some end redux in order to fully keep the end cost to a minimum, your shields are consistantly using x amount of end per second so keeping those to a minimum is a must.

    [/ QUOTE ]

JoJo actually, in his guide, explains why your attacks use more end/second than your shields do. Slotting end reduction in your shields is useful, but less useful than in your attacks.

    [ QUOTE ]
All and all if you want to be like jo jo which I had to tank mobs for on a stoner be my guest

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ah, here's the rub. You think he's talking about levels 20+. He's not. He's talking about the pre-SOs and pre-Stamina game, where enhancements can boost your damage 33-50% if you put 2-3 damage DOs in them. At those same levels, fury boosts your damage by 100% or more, easily.

    [ QUOTE ]
but since he purples out all his builds I'd suggest loling at this thread and moving on.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Argumentum ad hominem fallacy. You're attacking JoJo's character in an attempt to invalidate his argument (or in this case, his guide). Besides, you don't know for sure that JoJo does that.

    [ QUOTE ]
You can not waste any end and slot end redux in brawl but seriously who wants to do no damage.

    [/ QUOTE ]

At half a fury bar, you get the same bonus to damage that 3-slotting damage SOs would. At nearly full fury bar, you get nearly twice that. The enhancements don't matter as much.

I've played so many brutes..and man this thread makes me so sad. If you really want to gimp damage and recharge and pick up stupid things to slot like air supiriority or actually slotting boxing which does so little damage be my guest. All and all if you want to be like jo jo which I had to tank mobs for on a stoner be my guest, but since he purples out all his builds I'd suggest loling at this thread and moving on. Even if you get the end under control you'll spend so little time actually killing things with a bad attack chain and not enough damages slotted that its really not even worth playing a brute. You can not waste any end and slot end redux in brawl but seriously who wants to do no damage. Jo Jo, please don't advise people when you need the advising yourself. Ty!

    lol wut?

    1. I never lie, goes against my nature, if you have ever played with me you would know that statement is unfounded. I have pad and paper. I write names down, they do get included on the next run. Folks have seen me do this so often during the past three months they can attest to my word here. I suggest others live the same way, however, people will be people.

    [/ QUOTE ]

My statement was wrong, but not unfounded. As far as we could tell, you wouldn't be making any attempt to include those people; you'd simply be spamming down the list. After all, you neglected to include this bookkeeping in your guide.

So you're willing to spend time writing all the names down of people who respond but don't get on the team AND look for them in the future before others, but not to simply wait for responses?

    [ QUOTE ]
What I think folks are focusing on it the fact, in a total pick up group, I target Controllers/Defenders first.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Strawman fallacy, buddy. Nobody is knocking you for going for wanting Controllers and Defenders, they're knocking you for thinking that having a large number of them is so crucial to a fast run.
  5. [ QUOTE ]
Search: Do a search for Controllers and Defenders (note I did NOT say Blasters - they are my last choice if I cannot get all Controllers and Defenders - they tend to play Blapper and I do not care to remind them to pull back) in the level range of 30 to 50. SPAM (yes I said spam) down the line as quick as you can type “Katie TF?” and that is all. You will get some Yes, some No, and some questions. Screw the questions unless you know the person. I do not answer them anymore as most, I have found, result in a No anyway. Besides, if a person comes back with “what is a Katie?” they are a n00b that will require training and (unless you are feeling charitable) you do not have time for that. If more reply YES than you have slots, tell them that the team is full and you will get them next time.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That part is incredibly rude. First of all, there are many people you are going to send a tell to, get a quick reply of yes, and refuse to add them. Second, you are outright lying that you will get them next time if you plan to use this same recruiting strategy.
  6. guyz wut set bonsuses shud i slot for on my wm/ea to maek me more prety & strong
  7. [ QUOTE ]
I do keep track of the gaming world, and this is one of the very few that doesnt charge for new content (if not the only one that does so if you consider the manner in which it is done and amount of content added).

    [/ QUOTE ]

Only other one I can think of is Turbine's Dungeons and Dragons Online: Stormreach, which updates similarly to CoX - large "Modules" every few months of free content upgrades.
  8. Given that Fire/Fire has no offensive mitigation, I think you underestimate Air Superiority. It does excellent damage for its activation, and is guaranteed knockdown. You certainly aren't wasting any slots you put into it - and I've found it to be integral to my survival if I'm dealing with a hard-hitting boss.

    Otherwise, good guide.
  9. [ QUOTE ]
Why would Brutes want Ice OR SR? How well would a defensive set play out on a Brute who wants fury?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Because whether your opponent hits or not doesn't influence Fury, only that they attacked.

I wonder what Primary corruptors will get?
  10. It's great how we have a "Looking for team" flag, but I, for one, would like to see a "Team Looking for More" window. Players LFG could see any groups LFM before /telling others.
