    brief EDIT: ranged dmg in pvp isnt that bad either, squishies will fall to it, amd no blasters can take down a melee AT solely with range dmg unless, imo, the melee AT build is poorly thought out

    totally disagree with the last quoted post, whilst elec doesnt have the ST dmg of fire or ice, it still does far more than it really needs to .

    hate to say it but at heroic, which is where i expect a new/average player to play at:- aim, build up, zapp (1 minion dead), ball lightning, charged bolts (swap target), lightning bolt (2 minions dead, 2nd minion u actually target dies from DoT, 3 minions dead). by this time you have CH back up and a stack of melee, not to mention a pet at 26. so assuming you face 3 minions your laughing really, throw in a lt - tesla cage him and laugh some more. throw a boss in and you're looking at just short circuiting right from the word go.

    P.S. Elec pwns u all and quite blatantly has the best all round utility and AoE control in PvE.

    P.P.S. your talking about ranged damage? elec has the only ranged nuke worth having. on the same note, and similar to what seri was saying, elec is not entirely a ranged set as a theme/playstyle, whilst using the methods above you could mop up a mob in a solo mission without blinking, when it comes to loner fights and doing greater dmg, you want to be in there. SC is the key to all melee control for elec, and understanding when to be in melee, when to blast or joust, when to open with SC or a hold, or just to plough through are all things you will learn. failing that, you will die plenty, you have to understand your toon and build to play well when you have next to no hit points : /. also, know what KBs in elec, as useful as it is, at the wrong time you own KB can ruin you : /

    The enh storage is now up!, please drop all SOs in the base, DOs aren't so important on the hero side cos we have money (but drop them in up to about 20 odd). Sort DOs by left hand origin please, it's quite obvious which table is which. The (currently) empty table is for TOs.

    Nick, better ask jaz about the PvP thing, was his idea, as up for it as I am, I only really have space for a tank (i want one of each AT you see), unless we use my scrapper who is still 8. TBH I would rather get the Villain alts sorted but we can alternate between villains and heroes easy enough.

    Botty, and erm, yeah. I'll telk to you about it somewhere else lol.

    Fire, as I said several weeks ago, you have a bit more common sense about tanking than your average new tanker. Infact probably a lot more than most of your level 50 500 hours tankers, glad to see you thinking about positioning and AoEs etc.

So long as you know you always have a place on defiant if you want it.     [/ QUOTE ]Sure it's a PvP power, I understand this, but it's not much in the way of a duel power, or a solo power imho. In a team build, PvP or PvE I wouldn't have aid self as in larger teams I expect to not have to heal or be healed much, and when I do need it, someone who is better at healing than a blaster can do it. This would make room for thunderous blast. In duels I have found it most effective against squishies where you can put together a ranged chain that will kill in about 3 hits, against melee ATs I've found it to be a lot less consistently useful. Also on the PvE side of things (and this goes for PvP too i think), I will happily plough through mobs without thunderous blast and use it maybe every 5 mobs or less in PvE (and I tend to slot it heavily for recharge, not damage), because of this I kind of see it as a power that is too circumstantial seeing as I cope fine without it.

    I will say though, before the elec epic was introduced I had more room for primary/secondary powers, and I had all 3 holds and thunderous blast, I also didnt use stamina so had room for Zapp.

    Think I'm trying to say that I agree thunderous blast is an amazing power, it just doesn't fit into my build which I think is pretty tight on powers.

    I'm up for that rematch sometime send me a global tell

    [/ QUOTE ]Yes, it looks like a decimal error, however it is nice tht it drains in ticks. The powers that do this are reat at combatting recovery without actually using -recovery powers.

    Tbh i feel that lightening field is oversloated, 3acc i guess for stalker protection, you should note stalkers have huge AoE defence and that 3acc isn't going to do much. I think those slots are better used elsewhere such as tohitbuffs in aim and build up. Which i feel you are lacking.

    Combat jumping i find should have a jump height and not an endurance reduction as it cost is so small.

    All in all plighty i think its a good build, if it was mine i would make tweaks to match my playstyle (slot more movement eg. hurdle) and i've seen you use it, and you use the build well....very well.

    I was also thinking, would it not be a better idea to pick up charged bolts instead of ball of lightening the damage is slightly less but it uses less endurance and the endurance drain is the same.

    For Shannon here is the list of endurance drain numbers:

    These numbers are with an even con minion iirc. Found this from US boards, pretty handy but it gives the general relations to drain.

    These values are unslotted drain, and from the looks of it electric fence is worth slotting for endurance drain, the thing is it does drain in ticks and between those ticks endurance is recovered. However coupled with short circuit it could be effective.

    [/ QUOTE ]I covered the combat jumping above nova. slotting hurdle isn't something I would bother with, imho it doesn't offer enough to the damage and control of the build to warrant taking slots from the other powers.

    I won't be putting fear in unless I decide to drop hasten, which I think is very unlikely, although I don't really need it a lot of the time, I did put it in to guarantee a constant barrage of attacks with hasten in the build

    [/ QUOTE ]Elec fence is a great drain power, I use it mainly in PvE to take that last bit of end once they are under the effects of -recovery, it would be worth slotting, and will be later when I have more HOs. Powernova's numbers below confirm this (also note lightning field (which I tested myself in issue 2) is a total waste of endmod enhancements, however shocking grasp/bolt are both worth it for the stacking unslotted (again though, these powers are better slotted for other things primarily)).

    [/ QUOTE ]I essentially have this power for stalkers, I will be dropping it in my forthcoming freespec as I know its value now (nothing). At present I use it in even level PvE in PI to stack massive AoE damage and it helps ever so slightly with the end drain. Fighting with this power on is very circumstantial, without power sink I wouldn't go near it, I also use it on my brute to draw aggro though, which is different.

    Super Jump thats ok, i like end myself i have no need to jump that high and it helps to end recovery during travel easier.

    Aid Other, i like stimulant with 1 interrupt and use it on the guy who actually does the defending so that they get to become unmezzed and can get back to it perhaps healing alot better than what my aid other would (pve). i've felt good about myself when the defender has said zzz and i have sorted it as my scrapper.

    [/ QUOTE ]Tesla cage and shocking grasp have the same durations essentially, however grasp costs more end and does more drain (the damage isn't worth factoring in when you consider hold slotting), quite simply in this 2 hold build (my previous was no stamina / no hasten with 3 holds) I can use all my holds at range, offering far more potential in PvE and no need to go anywhere near anything other than a tank to hold them in PvP. As i said before, I will be dropping lightning field sometime soon, shocking grasp will go back in (although slotting this build is difficult due to the levels powers are picked). I'd just like to add too, shocking grasp ins't available until 38, tesla cage is level 18, so I can have a hold in all PvP zones and a lot more exemped arena matches.

    Ball lightning is something towards pve imo as its high end cost multihit, you could of chose charged bolts as a singletargeter with much lower end cost for slightly less damage output but good for low level dps "but" you have enough attacks to make up a good enough attack chain with ball lightning as a now and again filler at 50.

    [/ QUOTE ]You're right here, this is my PvE button , against even levels I don't have to do much more than throw ball lightning at some mobs, let off short circuit and power sink and stand still with lightning field on, for even levels at least. Ball lightning is enough to make most things one shottable, so works out nicely for me, if I was pure PvP i would definately have charged bolts, but that's kind of what voltaic sentinel is there for.

    It's not a power I go for personally, I have had assault but it's annoyed me so much to take a power that essentially does nothing for a power that doesn't do a lot imho. with a few To Hit enhancements extra in aim and build up,they are up often enough to hit most things. If it's for stalker killing then I hate to say that in my experience the only thing that is going to help is insight inspirations (I've talked to /dev blasters about this who also have tactics). I guess on a team it is useful, but tbh, look at how much damage I can put out and still have recreds in there, an extra acc SO in each power wouldn't hurt.

    I think to answer your post more directly I will say this; don't beat yourself up for not having tactics, I do o without it. But do test it, I've been playing about with this build for 2 years almost .

    Thank you. This build is more PvP than the previous, I would say yes, it is more PvP than PvE. Readon though please.

    It plays fine in PvE, the only thing it lacks is 1 more slot of damage in Ball Lightning and it doesn't go BOOM every 3 minutes like it used to. This build can solo anything pretty much (2 Zeusses in PI not an issue, invincible malta not an issue, unyielding (more mobs than invince) PvP missions not much o an issue with thought and the odd insp). Of course we all struggle with Master Illusionists (they're doable though).

    The down time on this build is about 35 seconds iirc (from 1 hp/1 END), thats regenning enough end to Aid Self, toggling up, Aid Self again and go. In general combat vs anything up to +3 there is essentially no down time.
