As Suzi's lips touch his own, he closes his white glowing eyes, wraps his arms around her, and starts to kiss Suzi softly, barely able to hold back a joyous smile as he does so.
"You just made me a very happy bloke Mrs. Mitchell" he said after their first married kiss. -
Managing to stifle a chuckle at Suzi's comment, Britanic takes the ring meant for Suzi from Father Pious, holding it for a moment as he speaks.
"Suzi, I promise to both love, and be there for you for as long as we live. To share in both your pain, and your joy, and to remain constantly at your side."
Suzi, take this ring as a sign of my love and fidelity, in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
With that Britanic slowly slipped the ring onto her wedding finger just above the diamond ring, taken from the personal hoard of the Redcap Snaptooth, given to her when he originally proposed. -
Britanic turned to Suzi, and smiled warmly just before saying "I do."
-
As Britanic answered "I Will" to the question he shot a glance at Suzi. For the forseeable future it didnt seem likely. Britanic lived in hope that one day the Watchmen would find away to permanently stabilise, or cure their condition, and one day have a baby of their own.
-
Britanic didn't even need to think about the question, he knew in his heart the question was yes. So he answered "I will."
-
Britanic gave Suzi a quick wink as he answered. "I have"
-
As Father Pious asked the question, Britanic made a slight gulp. Considering his past somewhat rocky relationship with Mechano, he half expected him to pipe up. Still Mechano may have been nuts, but he wasnt stupid. The fact Mechano kept his mouth shut meant that Father Pious need not perform any funeral rights today.
-
As Britanic looked over to Suzi he noticed an almost sudden change in her demeanor, almost as if some great weight had been lifted from her mind. He couldn't help but think that perhaps she truly believed he would of never married her, but now in the surrealness of their current situation all those fears must of been laid to rest. Whatever it was it didn't matter now, he could see that despite the absurdity of this Halloween night wedding she was very happy. Britanic smiled, pleased with himself for finally doing something right.
-
As Britanic listened to the sermon, he wondered that if perhaps he should of just asked for the quickie ceremony. However with that the image of a rushed wedding in Vegas popped into his head, and he decided that perhaps putting up with the sermon wasnt so bad after all.
-
As the prayer finished muttered a quiet 'Amen' of his own, before turning back to look at Suzi. Despite the bizzarre circumstances the wedding seemed to be going surprisingly well.
-
Britanic chuckled, and then whispered "Still it would of made a great story for the grandchildren oneday, but yes you are probably right. I really wish you had said something while I was trying to get the bloody thing off her finger though, better still before I even tried. Lets just keep this ring business under wraps."
-
As Britanic stood at the altar, and stared back at Suzi as she stepped down the stairs, he couldn't believe he'd wasted so much time, and not married her before.
When Suzi suggested they just head off to Vegas, and get wed there, Britanic was dead against the idea. He had always wanted to make sure when he wed Suzi it would be an unforgettable experience, and although this wasn't the fairytale wedding he always envisioned for her, there was no doubt that everybody would remember it.
The only real regret Britanic had was that his friends, and family were not there to witness it. Well except Rachel that is.
He wasnt exactly sure how she got there, but he suspected the young streetwise heroine had probably followed him from Pocket D. Still he figured she could fill in his other adopted daughter Cassidy while she was grounded for the next week.
Still rather than waste anymore thoughts, Britanic started to focus once again on the wedding. To think a few words, me slipping a ring on her finger, and then Suzi will be my wife... he thought to himself.
Britanic's face dropped, and he started to feel sick to his stomach. THE RING!!! Panic started to set in. The problem with off the cuff weddings was you didnt necessarily have everything you needed. In this case it was the wedding ring.
Britanic started to look around him until his eyes fixed on a female zombie member of the choir. Oh my God, I really can't believe im about to do this. Britanic quickly walked over to the Zombie. For some bizarre reason he felt obliged to force a smile, and talk to her as he carefully worked the gold band off her cold hard finger.
"Im really, really sorry about this luv, I just need to borrow this for a little while." The zombie didn't seem to acknowledge him, and continued to sing as he carefully tried to prise her cold dead finger.
Please God, just the ring, not the finger too! he thought as the ring finally slid off. Smiling like a pirate who'd just acquired some valuable plunder, he walked over to Powerstone, and slapped the ring into his hand.
"Now we are ready to get this wedding started." -
Britanic turned to face Bastinado once more. "There you go mate, I think thats your cue. Do you want to take Suzi upstairs and give her a hand with that dress? Military bloke like yourself should be a dab hand at that sort of thing" Britanic said with a slight snigger.
-
Britanic looked around as Pious Hunter's illusion seemingly brought new life and atmosphere to the Cathedral. He then turned to Bastinado to counter his warning, with one of his own.
"I wouldn't worry about me hurting Suzi, I'd be more worried about her getting hurt while running around for you. Anyway now isnt the time. This is supposed to be a happy occasion, lets keep it that way."
Britanic then turned from Bastinado to face Suzi. "You used the amulet right? Paul is on his way? I hope so, I really need a best man." -
"Hullo Bast, glad to see you made it in one piece. Bit off the cuff, but Suzi, and myself are planning to get married...now basically!"
-
"Ah them. Well they followed Suzi, and myself. They're not very strong, but admittedly there is a lot of them. I think the doors will hold though."
-
Britanic turned to face the reverend, and a smile crept across his face. Britanic knew the man both from his time helping the Militia, as well as the recent MMB strike against the Rikti homeworld. Now he was here Britanic hoped to get started.
"Hullo mate, bloody great timing. I was wondering if there was any chance of you marrying me to Suzi?" -
On seeing Mechano, Britanic facepalmed. "Of all the bloody people to run into, it had to be you."
"I'd forget about going out there just now, im pretty sure you don't have enough ammunition to hand. Besides while you are here, you might as well make yourself useful. Me and Suzi want to get married, and you can be a witness." -
((Im pretty sure Lunk isn't! Besides Brit never said "I do", and if he wouldnt get married in Vegas, then he certainly wouldnt let Lunk do it in Ds. Getting married in a creepy Cathedral, surrounded by brain eating Zombies is always the way to go!
All that being said, was a good night, some good costumes, and got to see people I rarely ever get to.)) -
{31/10/07 Early evening, somewhere in Port Oakes}
The raid on the Ebon Sun safe house had gone without a hitch. The three mutants who had fought to defend the place were slaughtered by the Blackshirts lead by Quick Fix, and Sea Four.
As the former biochemist turned terrorist, Quick Fix, checked the last of the bodies An Arachnos Officer, and several Wolfspiders walked into the room. The Officer, and two of the Wolfspiders seemed little bothered by the carnage, or the Humanity First Blackshirts surrounding them. However their comrades obviously sensed something was wrong, and appeared very fidgety.
Only three bodies Quick Fix?
Quick Fix looked up at the Arachnos Officer, then got back on her feet, before answering.
Four if you count Coles. It seems most of the others have already bugged out. No doubt planning to leave on one of those boats the mutant Antipode had arranged through her allies in that meta-human agency the Corporation. Its lucky Cyberspace hacking them again turned up that nice bit of information. They are playing right into our hands, and now we have a perfect place for a retaliatory strike by Arachnos for murdering an Arbiter.
As if on cue two Blackshirts walked in behind the Archnos Wolfspiders, carrying the badly beaten, and now dead Arbiter Coles. Without any ceremony the two Blackshirts threw Arbiter Coles corpse onto the floor.
Shock was apparent on some of the Wolfspiders faces, more so when their Officer and two of their comrades turned on them with knives. Quick Fix, and Sea Four then dispatched the remaining two Wolfspiders with clean shots to the head.
The Arachnos Officer wiped the blood off his blade onto the body of one of the dead Wolfspiders before speaking again to Quick Fix. In death they will do more for humanity than they could of ever during life. Once I report to Arachnos High Command about the Murder of Coles, and confirm Ebon Suns involvement, it will only be a matter of time before Recluse vents his rage.
Which should then panic the mutant community, and either tip Ebon Suns hand , or have someone lead us straight to them. Here, take this. It has details for one of the boat pickups that are ferrying mutants back to the U.S.
The Arachnos Officer took the file, and quickly flicked through it. Hmm, looks like I have a boarding action to plan. Assuming you are finished here, il call in reinforcements, and a clean up crew.
Quck Fix holstered her pistols. Ok, we will get out of your hair...by the way, congratulations on your promotion, both in Arachnos, and now Humanity First.
The Arachnos Officer smiled, as Quick Fix, Sea Four, and the other Blackshirts left the building... -
((After some personal character events for Britanic, and White Vampyr at last nights Hell Night party, me and Ammon cooked up this little forum rp thread to finally try to get them hitched! Pious you got work to do!
))
{31/10/07, Late Evening, Moth Cemetary, Dark Astoria}
In an effort to save his relationship with Hyperion Watchman, and rock singer White Vampyr, the hero Britanic found himself flying over Moth Cemetery towards the mist shrouded Cathedral. Conversations at the Last Words album launch party had centered on the fact that Britanic, had still not got around to marrying long time fiancé Suzi, and his refusal for the quick Vegas wedding she had proposed. It wasnt long before the general consensus was he was just stalling, and it seemed Suzi must of taken it to heart.
In an effort to put things right, Britanic had disappeared to the toilets to secretly try make some arrangements. However despite some frantic phone calls, he was unable to sort anything, and made his way back to the party. Once there he discovered Suzi had left seemingly to give Britanic some time to be single! With that he leapt off the balcony, and soared towards the Pocket D exit, wiping away the red Devil makeup, and transforming his costume into his heroic attire as he went.
As he left the main club, Britanic ran into his good friend Powerstone, who had briefly chatted to Suzi on her way out. As it turned out Suzi leaving the party wasnt about her wedding concerns, but rather a supposed summons by Watchman commander Bastinado to meet in Dark Astoria. Britanic figured if he headed to the Moth Cathedral it would be a simple case to get Suzi to come there, and if the mysterious Priest was willing get wed then, and there. After being given a small mystical amulet that would allow him to contact Powerstone, Brit headed off to Dark Astoria.
Now as he approached the Cathedral, Britanic could see that there was something even more wrong than normal in this cursed land. As he flew across the mists he could see the cemetery was awash with the slow shambling movement of hundreds of Zombies. A sea of undead slowly, and purposely seemed to be heading to one point. Panic hit Britanic has he realised exactly who might be at that point. As he hovered above the dead, his pulled out his phone, and dialled Suzis number.
*Click* Hello lover, sorry to walk out on you at the party but Bast wanted a meeting. Said it was important. I think its something to do with Romanov.
Trying not to let any hint of panic creep into his voice Britanic spoke into the phone.Exactly where are you supposed to meet Bast?
In the cemetery....Oh God..Somethings happening!
SUZI, RUN!!!
Pushing the phone back into his belt, Britanic started to draw the ambient energies around him into his body, supercharging himself, and forcing himself a glowing aura. He then held his fist out in front of him and swooped down into the Zombie horde, cannoballing his way through their ranks towards the point where he now knew hed find Suzi.
As Britanic ploughed his way through, a group of Zombies in front of him exploded in front of him, decimated by Suzis energy signature. Swooping up over the lead group he then landed down in between the horde, and Suzi.
Hullo luv.
Hi yourself handsome. Suzi said as she started to buff Britanic with the energies she ripped away from the Zombies.
Britanic pounded away at the Zombies while talking. Tell you what, il make a deal with you. If we get out of this alive, il marry you tonight at the Cathedral.
Suzi let out a huge smile. ...and to think all it took was a ravening horde of Zombies.
Britanic chuckled as he knocked a Zombies head clean off its shoulders. He then quickly reached into his belt, and pulled out the amulet Powerstone, had gave him. Here Catch!.
Suzi deftly caught the amulet as she blasted another Zombie. Whats this?
Use it to contact Powerstone once you reach the Cathedral, Im going to need a best man. Il hold off this lot here, that way if Bast is skulking about it gives him time to get safe.
Oh no you dont Eric Mitchell! You are not going to use that Sorry I couldnt make the wedding I was held up by a horde of Zombies' excuse with me!. We both fight our way to the Cathedral together. That way we keep their attention so Bast can escape, and I make sure you dont squirm your way out of marrying me. Britanic laughed as he put down another of the animated corpses.
...a short time later
Brtanic, and Suzi practically fell through the heavy doors to the Cathedral. Both covered in sweat, and filth, and hurriedly barricaded the doors. Britanic took Suzis hand and the pair smiled at each over, as they walked into the Cathedral. Behind them the army of undead futilely battered away at the heavy doors behind them. As they walked down the aisle towards the altar Britanic shouted out...HULLO, IS THERE A MINISTER IN THE HOUSE? -
/em picks Z up, and spins her around until she pukes! Welcome back Z!!!
-
Yep, I still want to do this, but at the moment it is on hold due to real life eating up my time as well as working on the Supremacy plot.
Once stuff calms down, il roll it out. -
{14/10/07, early evening. The Arachnos Ministry of the Interior building Port Oakes.}
The Humanity First plan to kidnap Arbiter Coles was meant to have happened several days earlier, however thanks to hacker, and techno-geek Cyberspaces insistence of watching the last bit of a Bugs Bunny cartoon, the team narrowly missed their mark. The bronze masked Partisan had been furious, and it was likely that Cyberspaces much needed skills were the only thing that still kept him alive.
The insertion had been fairly straightforward, and the few guards encountered were easily dispatched using the bio-toxins, and electrical discharge weapons brought specifically for this mission. The Arbiter, no doubt never dreaming anybody would dare target him, had been easily incapacitated by one of Quick Fixs other toxins.
Both Quick Fix, and the Humanity First soldier Sea Four stood behind, and watched as the short red, and white armoured hacker Cyberspace worked his magic.
So how you doing Kyle? You planted the evidence or what?
Cmon Doc, youre talking to a pro here. Take a look for yourself, this is what Arachnos will see when they check their CCTV footage.
Cyberspace hit a few keys, and an extremely poor quality video sequence started to play. The video appeared to have been badly effected by electrical interference, but seemed to show two metas battling with Arachnos soldiers, and Arbiter Coles. One of the metas, appeared to have been spewing noxious clouds from his mouth, while the other blasted the Wolfspiders with electrical discharges from his hands. Couple the video with the physical wounds left by Sea Fours electrical discharger, and the residues left by Quick Fixs toxin sprays, and it was pretty convincing that two metas had attacked the facility. The footage then showed the electricity wielding meta pull up a number, of files then start deleting them of the Arachnos computers. After that he seemed to fritz the systems using his own powers before helping his partner haul the unconscious Arbiter up, and escape.
Im impressed Kyle, pretty damning evidence, but surely if someone has infiltrated the Ministry to erase data files, theyd remember to wipe the security footage too.
Cyberspace smirked as he leant back and put his hands behind his head. I already did that too. This footage will be found via a separate security server, unknown to the normal Ministry security. It seems that Arachnos likes to spy on its own.
What about them files? You got them sorted too, right?
You bet Sea Four. Once Arachnos are able to get back into the computers here, they are find their intruders did indeed wipe a lot of stuff. But what I did was leave enough crumbs so that if they scoop them all up, the name Ebon Sun will keep cropping up. That will give Arachnos enough of a lead to go looking for our reclusive mutant friends, and we all know how subtle Arachnos are in when they are looking for something.
Ok Kyle, stop being so smug. Just fritz the computers so we can get out of here will you.
No problem Doc. The lady asks, then I deliver.
Cyberspace pulled out a small calculator like object, and plugged in a length of lead from the device to the computer. After pressing a few buttons the computers started to crackle, and spark. An electrical burning smell filled the air, and smoke started to appear from the computer panels.
Cyberspace jerked the wire free, and pocketed the device before speaking. Ok guys we left the bread crumbs, let see if Arachnos follows... -
{13/10/07, late morning. On a train heading to Talos Island from Founders Falls}
The mutant hero Britanic sat on the crowded monorail with his adopted daughter Cassidy. Britanic had originally planned a family day out on the beaches of Talos, but once again everyday life ruined that. His other daughter Rachel he was forced to ground after catching her picking the lock to the drinks cabinet again. Despite being a heroine herself, her rogue talents learnt from years of street living often landed her in trouble at home. His fiancé Suzi was once again visiting fellow Hyperion Watchman High Burn, who was going through a crisis of her own at the moment. Britanics carefully planned family day was going to be a Daddy/Daughter day instead.
....God damn mutants at it again!
Britanic unconsciously adjusted the black wraparound sunglasses that hid his glowing mutant eyes as he looked at the portly rough spoken man reading a newspaper.
...Its just typical. Mutants are always harping on about how they are so hard done by us regular people when its them causing the trouble in the first place. I mean look here in todays paper. Front page you got a mutant rapist, and murderer. If that aint enough you got some mutant attitude group trying to fire bomb that Gary Judge off the TV.
Britanic looked towards the mans newspaper, and started to read the front page of todays Paragon City Post.

DONT FEEL LIKE DANCING!
The trial of one of Paragon City's worst serial killers in recent years known as the "Slow Dancer" started yesterday.
Over the last three years over thirty cases of sexual assault, and murder have been attributed to the Slow Dancer. However the PPD believe the true number could be double that.
The man in the dock, Edward Malcom Lewis, is said to be a mutant with the ability to exert unnatural influence over females through a release of hyper concentrated pheromones. It is believed the Slow Dancer targeted his victims at various Paragon nightspots. First getting them on the dance floor, and then releasing his mutant enhanced pheromones on them. The women, unable to resist the chemical reaction, would leave the women totally spellbound by the Slow Dancer, and practically subservient to his will. Once under his power the Slow Dancer would whish the females away to quiet locations, where for the most part they were [censored], and brutally strangled.
The Slow Dancer was finally captured last month after a sting operation by the Paragon Police Department. Female PPD Officer Susan Wickes is responsible for the maniac's capture, but is said to be traumatised by the event that lead to the Slow Dancer's capture, and is currently on medical leave.
Although District Attorney Geraldine Meadows is confident that the PPD has more than enough evidence to convict the Slow Dancer, she is hoping Officer Wickes will be well enough to testify herself.
The trial is expected to last six months.
HOTMAIL!
Emergency Services were called to Channel 7 studios yesterday after an incendiary device, sent through the mail , was accidentally triggered. The package addressed to "Judge and Jury" talk show host Gary Judge exploded when opened by one of the studio's post room staff. The as of this moment unidentified victim is said to be in a critical condition, and it is unknown if he will survive.
About twenty minutes after the blast a call was received at the studios from a militant mutant rights group calling themselves "Ebon Sun", and claiming responsibility for the attack. The fire bombing is said to be in response to Gary Judge's interview of notorious human supremacist Partisan, and judge's apparent sympathy for Partisan's.. Cont pg.2

...telling maybe that Partisan guy and that Humanity First is right.
Britanic was about to stand up and say something himself, but another passenger spoke first.
They Humanity First are a bunch of terrorists themselves. Besides they have a grudge against all metas, mutant or otherwise. For forget a lot of these people do their best to help us everyday.
Look buddy even if we didnt have em we would get by.
The man with the paper shoved it in the other passengers face pointing at the picture of the mutant serial killer the Slow Dancer. A normal, everyday police woman caught this mutant creep, not some fancy pants cape. Maybe rounding em all up, and locking em away aint a bad idea.
Britanic reached for his sunglasses, about to take them off, and join the arguement. He was stopped by Cassidy who reached up, and grabbed his arm. Before she was de-powered she could of easily forced him down, but now all she needed was a gentle touch, and a few words.
Dont Dad. The guys a jerk, and even if you dont like it, entitled to his opinion.
Britanic gave up going for his glasses. He then sat back, smiled, and gave Cassidy a hug, thinking to himself. Why do I get the feeling there are going to be a lot more jerks like him, very soon...
