Quote:So, According to inflation, the 6 million dollar man would cost, today, around 24 million...Here you all go, my take on the ultimate bane build: 30 hp/sec regen, 119 sec rech on hasten, 244 sec rech on pets, 10 KB protection, 1784 hps, SCed to all postionals, and 40% S/L resists. Should be end sustainable. Expensive as hell though.
Also Jibikao I don't play soldier and haven't tried a wolf spider at all, but I can try a build if you give me more details.
Anyway, here's my bane attempt:

So, welcome to the 24 BILLION dollar Bane... whoa! -
-
Thank you all for your opinions. I think I am going to keep a notebook handy and do the "okay dr.deathdealer1000, you are #1, and you masterblasterdisasterhampster, you are #2" and so forth...
-
Quote:Well, I don't have the 20 billion yet, but then again I am not to 50 either. I was playing around with Mids to get where I wanted, and I am not there yet.But what I really want is the 20billion plus influence you have to outfit your toon :-) Cheers!
It is easy enough to earn a billion a week if you try hard enough. My main snag is alt-itis. I have 5 50s right now, and I will have perhaps 9 by the end of next month. Each needs LotGs, HamiOs, purples... I want a PvP defense enhancement for my main tank that is 2 billion by itself... So, these are things I strive for, and when the desire to get them is strong enough, I go and get them. -
I taunted him off the platform to where the pop-up turrets are, and then drew him into the tunnel. I then spammed my hold (Char) and my attacks all have disorient or knockdown (due to inherent or set bonuses).
As an Invul/Energy tank, I don't hit THAT hard, but the knockdowns, timed right with the Total Focus, beat him to the 'blue' point rather quickly, and he never spawned a clone that I saw. -
Inf and Merits can be regained, but I want a scrapper that terrifies the enemy NAO!
Have I found such a build?
If not, what should I do?
This is rapidly becoming my most dynamic character. Against ST or multiples, he just dominates.
I would love to have a better defense, but I am only now getting into Mids.
So, advice?

That was the one I had.
Not sure how it worked this time, but it worked.
Thanks all! -
Says there is an error applying updates, but I try to update each time.
I am in W7, but I downloaded it as is to the only screen name on this computer... -
I log in, I get it set up before I log in or after I log in, and no matter what, it still says there isn't a character to track...
"No character is available for tracking"
WHILE I am logged in to CoH and the Sentinel...
I have uninstalled and reinstalled this a few times, and would say to heck with it, but when it works it is a very useful tool.
Any ideas? -
My invul/energy tank has Tough 4-slotted with Reactive Armor and is soft-capped for S/L and resist capped S/L, but even level-shifted she can hit, and when she does, it can sting something fierce.
She hits me for around 600 or so, so if I hit Dull Pain and get my hit points to around 3400, she doesn't drop me too far before even the AoE heals in a party keep me safe. A healer of any sort means I am not dying.
My strategy for her final burst of "nigh-unkillable-ness" has always been 'wait it out, it'll drop and then we drop her'.
However, I have been on teams that didn't seem to have the damage or the buffs/debuffs to handle her quickly, and I have had to pop Unstoppable more than once. Having more than 100 end means not worrying about the crash since I have enough end to keep the toggles up and I drop 2 blues and 2 greens and just keep on trucking.
Thus far, though, I have not failed a Tin Mage Task Force [knocks LOUDLY on any wooden surface], but that is due far more to being lucky with excellent teams than my own ability. -
I'd take Invul simply for the simplicity of it. The tier 9 I have as a mule for a proc, and I can't remember the last time I meant to use it (I have used it by mistake, but then again I am too lazy to rearrange that tray).
-
So, I am curious... What exactly ARE the Crazy 88s?
-
That happens all the time in regular missions and stuff crayhal, but for a TF where there is no reshuffling team members, it is a different matter. Still, I do that too!
-
Any purple recipe is 20 A Merits.
If you don't do tip missons, that is 20 million and 50 merits PER A MERIT.
400 million inf and 1000 merits for ONE purple recipe.
Now, just those merits and inf ALONE would allow you to purchase 1 purple and use the merits to buy 2 high demand IOs (LotG's, Numina or Miracle procs, etc.) with about 300 merits left over to sell for another lower priced purple (absolute amazement or maybe gravitational anchor or soulbound allegiance).
Now, the 35 A Merits for PvP recipes is another matter, since they are obscenely rare, but even so, you could probably farm/TF/craft/lucky drop enough stuff in the same time it would take to acquire ONE PvP recipe's worth of A Merits the inf to buy 2-3 of them.
Hardest thing to get in game: HamiOs. Only 2 ways to get them- drops in Hami or LRSF/STF OR buy them. No Merits or A Merits get them. Also, they are (mostly) more expensive than prime IOs, but a shade under purples -
These are some great responses! I reckon I will try for that Citadel again later today... for me and 7 folks that is...
-
This may very well be a tl/dr situation, but here goes:
For SOME reason, I do this every couple of months or so...
I will send out broadcasts and channel chat for a certain Task Force (in this instance, it was Citadel around 8 a.m. Pacific today [Thursday]).
At first, there is little interest. Then a trickle, then a surge of interested folks.
Generally, people will alt and send me tells to 'save a spot for XYZ' or something.
I get everything started and get all folks where they need to be...
And I invited 8 people. Or, including me, 9...
So, what I ALWAYS do, is pass the star, tell the person who is now the leader the name of the person to invite upon my exit, and I quit the team.
I think this is the way to do it, whether I am a villain OR a hero.
What do you do, or what should be done, or what is the standard protocol for just such a situation?
Thanks.
As a side note, very rarely are folks pissed about the person who calls for the TF to leave as long as someone else takes their place. And the person I leave for always seems quite pleased. -
Oh, make no mistake about it, I was much more into the Werewolf stuff, but the significance of the 20th anniversary is too much to ignore.
-
I... Want... This...

To everyone who has helped me with my build, I can only say thank you. With my S/L at the soft cap with no enemies in range, and E/NE at the soft cap with 1 enemy in range, and F/C same at 2 enemies, I have been walking through all the WTFs with impunity. Even when someone gets a nasty hit on me, my 90% resist for S/L makes it seems as if I get a scratch.
My hit points right now are 2459 before Dull Pain, and damn near 3500 with it.
With the 4th tier Cardiac, I am never out of end and the added dam resist is just gravy.
Once again, thank you all, and now I wonder if I should work on the 2nd (or 3rd) build(s) with purples and HamiOs for more damage or more "ooh shiny," or just be happy that he is nigh unkillable... -
It depends on what you are after as to the "ease" of any of the sides (red/blue/gold).
I find that it is much easier to get a team together blue side (more players).
I find it much easier to "trick out" a SG base red side (fewer TP beacons).
The most engaging low-level content is gold side (newness, devs have had more practice, etc.)
I have played the game, on and off, since beta, and it has always been fun. Being a villain, a rogue, a vigilante, a hero, a loyalist, a resistance member... these are all cool ways to interact with the content that were not available in 2004. As the game progesses, we learn. We get better at things. Who would have DREAMED of a Lady Grey Task Force in under 20 minutes when they first came out? Folks make it their mission on the game to figure out the most expeditious and thorough ways to get things done.
So, now, the oldest stuff has had the most practice. True, there are some beasties that require a bit more prep than others, but generally they are newer to us. -
JUST heard another!
"But can you grab it without it going off?" -
In keeping with the "Rude Tells" thread (which, I can tell you, is entertaining and yet sad at the same time), I was walking through Virtue's Pocket D [quick route to Talos where I was at the time], when I overheard this in a local chat-
"I'm pretty sure you could be the most horrible human being on earth and the sex would be worth it."
wow... I know, I know... Virtue, Pocket D. But, still...
Anyone else have some great broadcast mistells or interesting local fodder for sharing? -
-
Why can I never get the resizing to work?
I may not have been the lowest level there, but since I have only actively played my Warshade for less than a month, I'd say I was the n00b. Regardless, I was surrounded by excellent folks who genuinely enjoy both the game and the HEAT of the most awesome seafood ever: Kheldians!
Thanks to everyone, and, as a side note, I really should up my graphics before I take a screen shot next time... -
