  1. Sounds like a fun event -- thanks to those who're working on all the coordination this must require!

If I'm not working on the 9th, I'd love to be there.

  2. Finally got around to cleaning up my PC and ran across this...

I don't think I've laughed as hard in-game as the night this was compiled.

    heh

  3. I have the Super Booster III: Superscience unlocked on my account and have used it many times on many toons.

Today I went to the Facemaker Surgeon to switch one of my VEAT's, an Arachnos Soldier, from male to female and nothing -- no screen for adjusting height, no change of body type, nada.

I was at the correct tailor, the surgeon (and I even tried it at the nurse and facemaker in both Cap and St. Marts just to be safe).

Did I miss something or is it not enabled for Arachnos Soldier's?

    Thanks!

PM me in game @Beka Cavish if you'd like to buy it.

  5. Quick question, since the post states June 3rd as the start date, I am assuming that the weekly playtime will be every Thursday from 6:00-8:30pm Pacific.

    Is that correct?

Protector Vigilance: 869 members, 75 online
Protector Watch: 1273 members, 50 online

"online" obviously changes by time of day, "members" does not. Hence my statement that Watch has more members, but isn't necessarily more active. Though technically, even more online members doesn't strictly mean more active - it's about who uses it.
One thing to keep in mind if you're looking at the total member numbers is that prior to the launch of i17 there was no way to purge folks from a global channel. Old channels like Protector Watch, Jello Shooters, etc may have a thousand or more members in them, but that doesnt mean that those folks have even logged in in the last few years.

So, as Amarsir pointed out, you cant really judge the 'activity' of a channel based on total member numbers alone. The online number during a peak play time -- say 6-10pm est -- would be a much better data point.

On larger population servers I imagine that the channel ops have utilized the shiny new /chan_timeout feature to purge the dead wood so active folks can join. Here on Protector, that's never really been much of an issue. heh

And I wholeheartely agree with River, try out the different channels and just go with the one(s) you like/enjoy.

Sometimes its a pain trying to recruit for tfs across multiple channels, but heck it's a pain in general sometimes just trying to recruit for tfs at all.
  7. Is the calendar currently being used by anyone to schedule events?

I added it to my Yahoo!Groups but it looks like the most recent post is a viagra spam... O.O
  8. Thanks for the welcomes and awesome, Pum, I'll be looking you up soon!
  9. Greetings Justice-ites,

Myself and a few others have recently moved some toons here and are trying to set-up shop both red and blue sides.

Re-starting your sg/vg is slow business and we were hoping that perhaps there are some established groups (large or small - we have nothing atm, so anything would be a help) that would consider coalitioning with us to share your porters.

We're mostly evening (weeknight) players, so wouldnt be very active across coaly chat.

If you think you have an open coalition spot and would like to help, shoot me an in-game tell @Beka Cavish or PM me here on the boards.

    Danke!

  10. The one I sent just came back also. So either you and I both have really bad handwriting, or something is amiss.

My yellow label from the post office said return to sender, attempted - not known, unable to forward.

Of course, now I have Return to Sender stuck in my head! Damn that Elvis!

  11. *sniffle*

See what happens when I stop visiting the forums regularly... I misses out on stuffz.

Have fun with the card exchange.
  12. Happy Birthday Rastaritaville!!

Hope you have a fantastic day.
  13. The calendar is SO totally out-of-date is there any reason to continue to have this stickified?

It was/is a great idea but the last post was way back in October and I don't know if the calendar has been updated since then.

    Thoughts?

and btw it goes on heartily in (at least several) of the other server forums as well. What's different here? People in the other server forums don't PM Ex Libris.

(edit - which re-reading the thread in more detail - she pretty much verified. We have a 'problem' b/c the drama lovers here make it so. Plain and simple.)

    [/ QUOTE ]

Having thought for quite a while this afternoon on whether I wanted to chime in on this topic or not, I’ve decided that I will for what it’s worth.

I agree with all the posters before me that the Protector Forum peeps are some of the nicest folks around. We have a good community of folks here and we’re pretty diverse.

I quoted the quote above because it made me go “HUH?” when I read it. Ex Libris started this thread so that we could have a (hopefully) civilized discussion on the matter.

I sent a PM to Ex Libris yesterday asking that the thread I started up 4 months ago be locked. I posted in said thread that I had made the PM and why. In the eyes of the above quote this makes me a “Drama Lover”…? I saw that a fun thread I started has long since outlived its usefulness and seemed to be headed into a flame fest so I ask that it be closed. End of story. I didn’t make a case about threadjackers or ask for moderation or anything. I simply asked that my thread be locked.

Have I ever clicked the “notify moderator” button? Sure, a few times for posts mostly outside the Protector forums that were really inappropriate. Have I ever threadjacked myself? Not that I can ever recall. I don’t post very often, but I suppose that it’s possible that I might have at some point.

There have been some really great suggestions so far. I think the idea of a “Sticky” on the thread for ‘check this out’ stuff would be great. Currently we have a thread for threadjacking and the Stalker Report that is its own special hybrid. If folks don’t feel like reading them, they never have to.

I pop in and out of the Protector Forums thoughout the day. The threadjacking seems to wax and wane kinda like the tide. There are a lot of threads that I don’t read and have missed a post here and skimming past the threadjacks.

There has been a lot of talk of tolerance and I think that there could always be more tolerance in the world and on the forums. Pointing fingers, calling names, saying people hate you or you hate other people doesn’t help anything, it only causes more hurt feelings and doesn’t help solve anything.

One thing that we need to keep in mind as we’re trying to work through this issue and come up with solutions is that things need to be clear and easy to follow. Lots of new folks come and go, some may never post, others may post a lot. It would be a sad thing if one had to read a manual on ‘proper posting procedures for the protector forums’.

Protector is a special little server with it's own style and flair. I'd hate to see it get lost in too much structure. But at the same time, folks need to respect one another and try to color between the lines when possible.

*tosses cupcakes around the forum for everyone*

*thinks about the forumites and tosses some milk bones out for the canine crowd*

  15. I was trying to think of something witty, but nada. Ah well.

This is a great thread. /em praise MiniMedic for writing and updating her lovely Hami Raid guide thru the years.

For those new to raiding, it's worth the time to srcoll thru and read.

I did notice that the "Death Cuddle" tactic isn't really discussed but then it's late and maybe I missed it.

Perhaps Mini or someone could post an updated tactics? Dirt wrote that lovely email to send to new folks at the raid... *hint hint*
