On Wednesday, August 26 2009, NCsoft Account Services will be brought down for maintenance. All NCsoft Account services will be unavailable at that time.

Planned Start: 6:30 AM Pacific Time (9:30 AM Eastern Time / 2:30 PM British Time / 15:30 Central European Time)
Planned Finish: 11:00 AM Pacific Time (2:00 PM Eastern Time / 7:00 PM British Time / 20:00 Central European Time)

You will be unable to access the following areas during the maintenance:

• The NCsoft Store (to purchase items like the Booster packs for instance);
  
• The City of Heroes Ingame Store (to purchase services or items like character transfers, renames, character slots or Respec tokens);
  
• The NCsoft Account Management System (to manage, create, upgrade or re-activate your account for instance);
  
• The creation of new Forum accounts (the use of existing Forum accounts will not however be affected).

We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience with this matter.

Please note that the live servers will still be accessible during this maintenance.

I'll unsticky this thread now, but please let me know if there is a need for a stickied thread to coordinate tasks on Union and I can create a new one.

The downtime should last about 3 hours but please allow for early release or an extension as necessary.

We told you before the migration that we had a plan for those of you with conflicting forum handles. It is apparent that a few of you have undergone the _NA and _EU suffix change and this is your opportunity to get it fixed!

So here's the plan!

Send us an email at CoHForums@ncsoft.com from today onwards with your current handle and 5 alternative choices in the order of preference.

Please only include the information in the following format:

• Current handle

• 1st choice
• 2nd choice
• 3rd choice
• 4th choice
• 5th choice

The first person of each "_NA" and "_EU" pair to email us will get the handle without the suffix. The second person of the pair will get their 2nd choice if available. If not we will go through the other choices.

• If you own both the _EU and _NA versions please let us know when you send your request.

Check the current forum userlist available here to make sure that your choices are available before emailing us. Names infringing Intellectual Property laws or Copyrights will not be considered valid choices.

And just because the quest for his red name proved to be one of intense contemplation, we thought we'd share with you what Red Skeleton could have been known as, had he not had his say in this. Mini Falcon anyone? How about Gag Inducer?

With the migration to new forums, a few changes were made to the login system in order to ensure that we could offer all our forum users as secure an environment as possible.

As a result, all forum login details are now the same as their corresponding game account login details.

This means that you will need to use exactly the same username and password as the ones you use to log into the game, even if you previously had a username and password specific to the forums.

We have security protections in place to prevent breaches into our game account system, which our forums now also benefit from since they share the same system.

We understand that many of you have concerns about sharing those details across your game account and your forum account, but we are confident that the level of security that we are now able to provide on our side is very tight indeed.

*Please note that you should also do your part by NEVER sharing your account details with anyone and by having up-to-date anti-virus and anti-spyware softwares on your PC or MAC to ensure that your details are safe on your end.

Unfortunately it is still down as we speak. I'll be updating this thread once it is back up. Thank you for your patience.

The City of Heroes websites and forums will undergo a 30 minute maintenance tomorrow Tuesday 11th August 2009 from 5:00 AM Pacific Time (8:00 AM Eastern Time / 1:00 PM British Time / 2:00 PM Central European Time).

We are having our tech team look into this issue and are hoping to get it fixed by tomorrow. Apologies for the inconvenience.

The EU Character went offline several times over the course of the past couple of weeks but hopefully this is now fixed. Please do let us know if it were to decide to get a rest again!

Starting at 7:00 AM Pacific Time (10:00 AM Eastern Time) on Tuesday 8/06 all live North American servers for City of Heroes will once again be brought down for a separate maintenance.

We expect the downtime to last 2 hours but again allow for early release or an extension as necessary.

In order to get your very own Knives of Artemis Costume Code, you need to have an active City of Heroes account and go to the NCsoft booth (Hall 9) between the 20th and 23rd August 2009. When you are there, ask to speak with Jenny our mysterious City of Heroes representative and give them the email address that is registered on your NCsoft Master Account. Once the GamesCom is over, you will be receiving an email from us containing that much coveted code.

So don’t forget, it’s all happening at the NCsoft booth (Hall 9)!

Please note that we are only able to give one code per individual and that those codes can only be applied to European City of Heroes game accounts.

The European Trial page is currently offline for an undetermined length of time. You may however still invite friends to try the game out via your NCsoft account. For more information on how to do that, take a look at our Refer a friend guide available on our official website.

We will keep you posted once this page is once again available to all.

In order to implement the build that was originally going live on Tuesday 4th August, the European City of Heroes servers will be offline on Thusday 6th August 2009.
