Lots of other cool stuff to take.
The fact that this epic pool provides a good alternative to Rock Armor, a team friendly ST blast and a good AoE attack, still puts it above the others for me. -
Heya Lost Ninja. I just made this All Rounder i18 Fire/Kin build for myself, and thought I'd share.
You can farm with it, TF with it, do all those awesome Fire/Kin stuff while not having an ugly rock armor stuck to you. Poisonous Ray is team friendly and stacks really well with the Kin powerset . Come i19 you can pick up cool stuff like PFF.

Quote:Either a Utility/AoE damage one(Soul, Mu) or extra LotG slots(Concealment, Leadership).thow i am not set on APP or realy anything lol... butt if someone can figer out a beter App to get or if i should jsut drop it for 3 skills concelment for 3 LoTG plz do say.
Electric Armor really doesn't have any endurance difficulties at all, once you get Power Sink and decent recharge going. No need for the Energy APP. -
I 5-slotted Lightning Field on my Elec/Fire and put Scirocco's in. Regen, Accuracy, Negative Energy Resistance, AoE Defense, all things that are useful to Elec. Endurance is a non-issue for Elec anyway.
-
I would suggest getting Static Discharge from the Elec Mastery epic pool. It will help with your AoE issues a lot, making you considerably more team friendly. Soul Mastery is also a good choice, and it will help you keep mobs in place for your powers(which may or may not be a bad thing). But it is more slots needy than elec(2 cone powers with high recharge instead of 1 cone power with low recharge) and has narrow cone arcs.
-
I took Hover+Fly on my Empath because it keeps me safe.
I took Hover+Fly on my Scrapper because it fits my concept and helps my defenses. -
I would urge you to consider SS/Elec.
You still get the 20% recharge bonus, and you have two great end management powers in Energize and Power Sink to help you deal with Rage. With a high recharge build you get great stuff in both SS and Elec, and you can even fit in high defense(not softcapped, but that's what purple insps are for). -
Just dinged 50 and started the pimping process. I was lucky enough to gamble a lotg and have a purple drop for me, so the build is more than halfway done. Really pleased with this guy, tanks well and does a fair bit of AOE damage.
Here's an updated I19 build, with TF's in mind(Especially Synapse) so power level selection is also important:

Quote:I thought about going Soul Mastery, but the recharge on the cones makes them unfit for a cone chain(an immob starter is nice though).I would actually suggest you go with Soul Mastery as your epic if you go Sonic/Mental with an eye towards cones/PBAoE. You'll get two nice cones (including an immobilize) and Oppressive Gloom works superbly with World of Confusion, Psychic Shockwave and Screech.
Still gotta throw this out there despite the OP - Sonic/Energy is the blaster best suited to soloing (and duoing) in the game, but you HAVE to take advantage of the uber that is Sirens. -
Cold lets you and your team kill stuff faster, FF keeps you and your team safer and looks better.
-
I rarely have issues solo with too many targets staying alive and rushing me. If they do, I have a plethora of control as a sonic/mental to deal with anything that gets close, +Psychic Shockwave to kill them.
There are some things I can't solo as well as a targeted AOE/PBAOE blaster, like AE farms and such where mobs crowd you. The way I see it though, if I fight tons of mobs up close all the time I mind as well just roll an AOE minded Melee combo(SS/Fire Brute, Elec/Shield Scrapper, etc.) -
I can say with experience that Sonic/Mental/Elec is very conetastic. You can have a never ending cone chain of death, and if you're in need of PBAOE there's always Psychic Shockwave. Couple that with great team friendly stuff in Sonic's -res and you have an excellent blaster. I use mine to farm the Cimerora wall from time to time.
-
No Purps, no Gladiator's.
Stamina will be slotted with Performance Shifter(End, End/Acc, Proc) and Health will be slotted with Numina(+recovery/+regen and Heal). -
Hey all!
I've recently got into playing a Tanker, and got into the mid-level game with him. I was amazed how much concentration it takes compared with other classes, with the taunts and situational awareness. I'm hooked.
My Tanker's an Elec/Fire, and I've been tinkering with a build for him. I went for Recharge and positional Defense, both are in my mind very needed for an Elec Tanker. This is an I19 fit, replace the Concealment powers with the Fitness tree for I18. Since there's no Mid's for I19 out yet that I'm aware of, I reserved 3 slots in Brawl, 2 of which will go into Stamina and the other will go into Health. I'd like to hear opinions about the build, Thanks in advance!

That's quite an interesting read there, Werner.
I have to say though that in the setting that I usually play in, big teams, I believe the Achilles' proc contributes to the team's overall AoE potential more than a regular damage proc would. A purple proc on the other hand seems superior to it in every way, and I will start saving for one after this build gets done(Not sure if it wouldn't be better to put the purple proc in GD, though).
@Warkupo that's very nice to hear, fun to be had with builds in the future I suppose. -
Appreciate the input!
The Achilles proc in Lotus is mainly for groups. Katana/WP isn't exactly an AoE DPS juggernaut, so the aoe -resistance is a consolation, while also helping by having a chance to proc on the bosses, making my job of killing them easier if GC doesn't proc.
As for Hasten, when active it makes GD and SD go up a bit over a second sooner, which can't be bad for DPS. Being able to fire off Lotus more often is also very nice of course. -
Heya folks! Coming back after a year of hiatus, I was sad to see the nerf of certain sets, Zephyr in particular. The Zephyr nerf hit my softcapped Katana/WP build pretty hard, and softcapping looks to be out of the question if I want to keep a decent build going.
Then there's a whole other thing, the Purple sets, which got about 10 times more expensive. This made me remove them from the build.
I was able to come close to softcapping for energy/negative/fire/cold, with hope that in melee range the ToHit debuff from RTTC will push it to the cap. If needed there's always DA which caps me at 2 swipes for melee.
Long story short I'm looking for an approval stamp/critique on the following build. appreciation in advance for taking the time to look at it:

A+ For Effort, but there are a few things that are just plain wrong.
1. First one isn't wrong per-se, but I think it's important to state that Sonic Siphon doesn't stack with itself.
2. Sonic Cage, even after the major nerf, still has some uses in PvP
3. Disruption Field. There is no such thing as -Res enhancements.
4. Sonic Dispersion. You should mention that it has great Mez protection qualities. This is often something overlooked. Also, you want to slot it for Endurance Reduction. Endurance issues is something that often plagues Sonic users.
5. Clarity. +Accuracy is useless, and can't be slotted anyway.
6. Liqeufy. Liquefy is a nice power to be used in tight spots, and should be slotted for Recharge and -ToHit, as that is what it does, nerf ToHit(and Def) and some minor control here and there. You can also slot an Achilles' Heel proc in there.
I'll post my build, so that people can pick up on the IO slotting for Sonic. Basically, it focuses on Endurance Recovery.

Is it intended that some of the Shield models(namely half of the elemental shields) are not available to Huge characters?
-
I'm not too fond of the numbers. Solo story arcs have the same merit-time ratio as Task Forces.
This system completely disregards the time it would take to get a team together for the Task Forces. That time, if it goes unrewarded, would make people focus on Solo story arcs instead of teaming up for TF's.
Perhaps give more Merits to full teams, and maybe even higher difficulty settings. Either that or just give more merits to the TF depending on the minimum number of people required. -
Great and friendly guide!
One thing i'd like to add is the level-differences.
The TF scales its difficulty according to the highest level member of the TF. So...
If you're a level 16, doing the level 15-20 TF, and you have 4 other level 16's on your team... Avoid getting that level 19+, or you'll find yourself in over your head.
I've seen a TF break apart because the leader was asked to let some friend join the TF, only to find out that said friend was level 30, while all 5 other members of the team were 16-18(Synapse TF).
This made it very difficult for the leader to find members for the team, and the TF broke up eventually.
