  1. With all of this babbling that's going on in this thread, Tanks are fine.
  2. Quote:
    1. Lower max damage capacity for all ATs.
    No.

    Quote:
    2. Reduce bonus damage from Containment to around 80% (from 100%).
    No.

    Quote:
    3. Nerf Fulcrum Shift to around 50% base dmg +10% per foe hit (from 50% +25%). Controller/Corruptor version should be around 40% base dmg +8% per foe hit.
    No.

    Quote:
    4. Make Siphon Speed into an AoE slow with the same effect on caster as before.
    Maybe.

    Quote:
    5. Make Increase Density into a PbAoE toggle power with (Defender numbers) +25% S/L resistance, make it grant high levels of resistance (not protection) to status effects, and have a weak slow foe compartment.
    Maybe.

    Quote:
    6. Fix Defender inherent. For instance turn it into a reverse Kheldian inherent where the Defender uses his focus to protect his teammates. Each member is granted a minor bonus, different for each AT and designed to cover the weakness of an AT. While solo, the bonus is doubled as the focus is purely on self. For Defenders, this bonus could be +recovery and status resistance. Blasters/Scrappers: defense/resistance. Tanker/Controller: accuracy/damage.
It's a good thing that not all of your ideas were nerfs, but wait, what's this?

    Quote:
The changes to Kinetics would benefit most Defenders, while being quite detrimental to Controller farmer ability. The Vigilance change would help Defender soloist abilities especially at lower levels where it is much needed. It would also make it so that Defenders aren't outclassed quite as much on teams by Controllers.
So your ideas were pretty much to nerf Fire/Kins because they farm. That's comedy gold.

The biggest separation is in hp, and brutes can get Tank quality hp easily as well. Scrappers have a harder time with that. Just saying they can't do it because they are brutes is ludicrous.

Like I said, of course not everyone will have IOs, but more people will by the time GR comes out, and chances are, the people that are going to jump on that content first will.

Is this conjecture, yes. However, I am basing my conjecture on reproducable facts and data, as opposed to just saying it is what it is, because thats the way I want to see it.

Of course some people will still favor tanks over brutes. But, I can easily see that becoming the minority.
I'm curious to if brutes can do things tanks can without IOs. My guess is, probably not.

I respect Serrate due to the fact that instead of just trolling and making stupid comments, she(or he, was just basing on avatar) actually states an opinion and backs it up with some justification. I may not entirely agree, but I concede she makes some valid points.

I am basing my prediction on actual experience, both with this game (I remember a time when NO one wanted a stone tank, now everyone wants one), and with others, specifically with tanking classes.
Since you're basing your prediction that brutes will have IOs and can easily replace tanks, that's just BS. Not everyone in this game has IOs nor do they care for it. I highly doubt that the all of the brutes that do decide to go blue, will have IOs. Brutes will never be able to replace tanks because they are just that, brutes. The only archetype they can replace is the scrapper because they're the closest to them.

No, I'm not trolling. I just call it like I see it.
  5. Here we go again with that BS.
  6. I still see no reason to invite a Brute over a Tank, unless you want Vengeance bait.

If it isn't impossible, people will do it.

If the devs don't want people doing it, then the burden is on them to make it impossible- or at least inefficient.
So in otherwords, exploiting the game is ok.

Who gets all the purples that you non-farmers covet oh so much?
Why do people talk trash about farmers? Look at your own post. Durrrr...

I'm actually liking this rep system a little. I get a chuckle everytime I go through the messages from people repping me. It's only three so far, and only two are hateful, but they sure are funny to read.

I found it a bit cheap that scrappers could have more life and stronger regenration than Tanks. That kind of killed it for me. As its like making a Rogue in WoW take on more than three mobs. It's ridiculous but, you can't stop the ball from rolling.
Take IOs out of the equation and see what happens to Scrappers. I'm curious to whether or not they can do the RWZ challenge without them.

Some reasons why the will become orphans, the big one being the ability to switch sides. Scrappers are already able to do the tanks job, now think about when brutes can come over to blue side. Better defenses than a scrapper, and hellacious damage to boot. Yeah, I don't see too many people looking to add an AT to their team for a job that can be handled almost as well by another AT that puts out VASTLY more damage.
When it comes to pure survivability, Tanks win hands down. There won't always be a buffer on the team and when I want someone who can take a hit and deal damage at the same time, I'll find a Tank or maybe have my friend get his or hers. Brutes can't take it unless they're IO'ed out or have several buffers on the team. Scrappers can't take it unless they're IO'ed out as well. Also, try to find me a non IO'ed out Scrapper that can do a Tank's job and not die.

When GR comes out, I won't be inviting squishy Brutes to the team so they can just die trying to take the alpha.

In the past two weeks, I've built three Scrappers, two of which could replace a Tanker in the STF and the other which (a farming toon no less) could replace a Tanker for virtually any other content.
Don't use IOs and let me know how easily you can tank then.

It's simple. Pre-AE with the demons they could have done it. Now it looks like with the new issue they are adding a feature to allow you to set your team size without having the people on the team... sure sounds like they hate farming...
Actually, the devs said that they didn't want AE to be used for farming. They said it before AE came to the test server, and it obviously went in one ear and out the other. Then they had to reinforce that they didn't want it to be used for farming after fixing the rikti comm. Still, people are still shocked on these boards when someone reports a farm. It really amazes me.

I'd like to point out that the devs don't mind non-AE farms that much. There's still Battle Maiden, a freak farm, BP mask farm, etc. So they really don't hate the farms that much.

Because of this post, I just might start reporting farms whenever I see one.

Edit: I will start reporting them.
  21. 1. Knockback hasn't been removed.
    2. EM hasn't been buffed.
    3. Mercs haven't been buffed.
    4. Defenders didn't get Thermal/Fire for i16. All they got was some crappy AR.

Only four, but four I would approve of. I do think that there's probably more in the back of my head, but I would need to think about it.

  23. The OP the reminds me of a story that I have when I played with my Invul/Axe.

The story goes is that I get invited to a team to run Nemesis. I hate fighting these guys, but it's a team that wanted me so I decided to join. I'm unsure of the entire team make up, but there happened to be a FF/Energy on the team. This didn't mind me much, however, when we entered the first mission, I noticed that the Defender kept his Force Bub on at ALL times. The Defender annoyed me so much with his damn bubble keeping everything out of melee range.

During the course of the final mission that I decided to leave, I let him die. Seeing him go down just gave me the biggest smile on my face because I was able to have foes in melee range.

If ya'll are wondering, I wasn't herding. I was just hopping from spawn to spawn trying not to snap because of the Force Bub.
  24. Reduce the Commando's LRM Missle down to 50 seconds and his Full Auto to 45, reduce the recharge time on the Tear Gas, and widen all of the cones to 20 feet and I'd be a happy camper.
