  1. I am looking for a solo friendly pairing that will also work well on teams. I am new to corruptors so am looking for fun and survivability. I have considered /Kin but what I read on the forums is that they are powerful but tricky to play. Then I read that /Dark is a very survivable set. Have been seeing that Fire/Dark seems to be the top dog on the forums due to potential damage. However, looking around, I also saw that Ice/Dark seems to be getting praise for its damage potential. Fire/ is pure damage, while Ice/ provides some damage with mitigation. So am asking for advice on which would be more survivable leveling up from the start w/o any infusion of outside funds.

    Please post your comments and any leveling builds that you may suggest.
  2. Let me start off saying that I am new to Corruptors. I have mostly played Blue side and w/ GR out, I wanted to try the Red ATs. I am looking for a well rounded build that can solo or work well in PUGs. I plan on soloing this toon thru Preatoria, since I like the current misson arcs. Then once I am out in the older areas, I think I will try to PUG as much as possible, but that does not always work at the times I can play.
    Here is the build that I plan to use to level. I have everything sloted for SO as a marker for what enh I would choose. I usually start swapping out the SO for base IOs at 35. I may even Frankenslot if I get decent recipes.
    Also, if someone can post a towards the cheaper side lvl 50 IO respec build That would be appreciated. I think I would be looking for +def, +rech (want hasten almost perma if possible cheap), +acc or to hit, and +end rech. Not good with IO sets, so not sure how viable it would be to get them all.

  3. This is just my general leveling build for a Ill/TA troller I am thinking of building. I plan on keeping him ranged. Slot-wise, I plan on subbing the SOs for standard IO at 35 and then possibly franken-slotting until close to 50.

    Please review my Power choice selection and slotting for leveling. Also if anyone has ideas for IOs please suggest away.

    I chose to add Flash at the end of the build as a OH-NO button. I also chose Primal as an APP instead of fire since I can use the Tech starting power to light OSA. I took Hover due to my ranged concept and the fact that I will have Vet powers to help with melee when I get stuck in it.

  4. Thanks all for the help organizing my somewhat wayward build. I liked your build Local, so I hope you don't mind my copying it. I just modified it towards the end to add the fire epic powers. I also added fallout and mutation. I liked all the other comments about fallout. I added mutation to aid friends and as a thanks to fallen comrades that allowed me to use their bodies for fallout.

    Here is the build I came up with. I plan on swapping out the SO that are in this build for IO as I level. Also, as inf permits I will look into the two special IOs Local suggested.

    Another note. Would this build have problems if I kept all the IOs at either level 25 or 30 until I reached close to 50?
  5. Please Help me review my choices and slotting for a leveling build. I plan to use SO and/or standard IO until level 50.
    I have been away from controllers fro a long time and been playing tanks. I am looking for something different. I still enjoy controlling the pace of the fight, but want to do it differently than as a meat-shield.
    I am looking for a mix build (solo and team friendly). I am willing to go the dual build route if there are suggested builds. As you can see from my build, I am not adverse to being in the thick of things, but will remain on the outside if that is what the team requires at the time.

    IO question?

    Does an IO work if placed on an inactive toggle? My main reason for asking is that I am building a DEF orientated Tank and was thinking about placing the Steadfast /+3 Def IO in Tough. Since I was not going to be going for high resistance, I was planning on saving End by leaving this off most of the time.

  8. I am relatively new to Tanks. I have tried most ATs and have just recently started to play tanks and find them loads of fun. I have been fooling around with various builds in Mids and even made a few (none past lvl 15) to get a taste of the AT. One build that seems to attract me the most is the Shield/EL Tank. I have read that Positional Def soft-capping is one of the better ways to build. I also like the idea of the 2 jump powers and being a slight sapper.
    I am not familiar at all with IO sets, so I have posted my potential build with what I would use if all I had were SO. Please critique whether this is a viable build, and what IO sets would help me. I am looking for an inexpensive build that soft-caps positional def, improves HP and end recovery, improves recharge (so perhaps I can get rid of the recharge slots), and improves end drain.
