    Inspirations
  2. I'm not one for posting a lot, but here's something I'm finally ready to share.

It’s nothing really big and it is a little crowded with stuff, but it’s got some decent functionality, some designs that I’m rather happy with, it’s comfortable, and it’s home. It’s basically just a 1 person SG as most of the rest either quit for other games or have RL issues that have forced them to stop playing or log less than a few hours a month. So most of this is from the recent prestige grant and my only lvl50.

Also, hope these work ok and aren’t too dark. I can’t seem to get them any brighter no matter what I try, in-game or on my PC itself.

Overview of Desolate Valors 8x8 Liberty SG base

First up: The Entrance as seen from an adjoining hallway.
There’s a Bar and a Big Screen TV with a nice movie collection and surround sound speakers.

Now turn back around and get a view of the Teleport Bay and Airstrip .
I placed the beacons above the teleporters instead of on raised floors or walls. Maybe a little harder to see them but works fine for me and avoids a few ramps/stairs.

Further back is the Airstrip and a Control Tower .
The bottom floor is for Pilot Debriefing and Training .
The upper portion is the Air Control Operations Booth . No stairs up because I just couldn’t get them to look good. Just assume there’s lift platform or something on the ground floor that goes to the top.
Here’s some pics of the construction of version 3

V1 took 4 hours and was demolished, V2 took 6+ hours and was also demolished after floating a research platform 7 magic desks high. Call me crazy, but I just wanted the right look for my tastes.
Nothing fancy about the airstrip except the small flyer Repair Pad at the back end.

Now back through the entrance turning the other way we find a Workshop which expands down the hallway (a 2x2 and a 1x2 workshop connected). Nothing special about the first workshop except the Basement , which I’ve had in every version of my base since I stared designing them a few months back.
The Second Workshop/Hallway has a raised walkway with the Arcane empowerment station hidden underneath (because it just doesn’t look too great sitting out with the tech decorations in my base).

Next room I do believe is my favorite for design, The Control Room . I know, no supercomputer, no crafted control items (I have some made but didn’t feel like using them), but I’m quite proud how it turned out, and it runs everything in my base fine with some control to spare.
The Walkway with the mainframe is what I like best about the room. Please watch your step on the walkway as high voltage wires run down each side to the server racks.
Underneath, a Small Office for the electrical engineer, whoever he is.

Turning right from the control room we run into the Power Room which hosts a small jail with two cells and an armory. One of the cells has been converted into storage for the armory with an opened door. The Other Cell is all sealed off except for 2 small windows in which one can TP through or TP a teammate into.
The generator just kind of sits in the middle taking up space, but hey, I need energy to run stuff.

Lastly, we come to the Infirmary . One inspiration rack makes up most of the low ceiling over the Examination Tables . The rez ring I couldn’t get underneath due to pathing, so instead it’s out front. Sort of looks more like a metal detector, but I kind of like it that way.
The back half of the room has been converted into a Library and Study Lounge with a small Computer Loft . I borrowed the cabinets and wall spot lights at the very top from the stacked bookshelves thread, but the bookshelves I already had stacked. The large posters also just fit perfectly where a bookshelf used to be.

Anyhow, that’s all there is. I don’t really have any further expansion plans other than eventually an autodoc. Where I’ll fit him, I have no clue, maybe someplace in the library researching that new strain of superhero alt-itus.

Finally, a thank you to those who are responsible for figuring out stacked desks and magic desks, without which my base would not be what it is.
