I recently returned from a long long hiatus. Is RWZ still the meeting spot for itrials? Any good channels to join? I don't see to many people around, or did everyone go blueside?

This is my first experience with both the defender and both power sets. I'm not really sure if the medicine pool is necessary/desired with a FF primary. I'm also unsure if hovering is recommended since I have the area bubble to protect teammates. Finally, is hasten something that every character should try to work in? I might of went way overboard with the defense also, but I'd like to try the incarnate stuff this time around. Any help would be appreciated, as I'd really like to try out the incarnate stuff soon.

Thanks for the help. I never noticed that you could slot soul drain like that for the defense.
I think that pretty much settled me on dark. I just wonder is the resist shields are really worth it if you don't find yourself being hit very often.
I'll probably stick with hover since I just follow my bot/traps friend around in the air and keep his pets topped off, and buffed. I'll probably switch the stealth stuff over to leadership also.

I'm currently finishing leveling a Sonic/Pain in for duoing with my buddy.
He is a bots/traps with soft caped defense. I'm trying to figure out what epic to go with to best compliment the duo.
He runs with soul mastery, so I was thinking of trying dark mastery to stack oppressive gloom. It seems that there are some nice bonus invention sets I could get for going psychic, and the power mastery sounds fairly nice for a healer even if it wont improve my res debuffs and buffs.
I plan on eventually trying to snag a gladiators and a steadfast to try and get my ranged def around 30ish since he tells me his maneuvers and force field generator should put me near or over the defense cap.
Anyways, I figured I would post my build so far and see what advise I could get as its the first character I will have that has something other then just single origins in it.

Hello, I have recently returned to the game after a long long hiatus. My friend and I built these characters when city of Villains first came out and haven't really played them since. We recently returned after picking up the going rogue expansion pack and are trying to get set up to do all the new incarnate stuff.
It seems their is a wealth of information about the bots/traps mastermind, but for my Nrg/Therm their is not a lot of information. It seems the bot/traps is somewhat of a powerhouse and I was looking for advice on how to build my Nrg/Therm to best support him, and when we hit 50 the rest of the people we team with.
I still have a few levels to go until I hit 50 but I would really like some advice as to a build to best duo and team with my buddy. I may end up going to the hero side to get my epic powers, as I don't see to much I like on the villain side.
Any help would be appreciated, as while duoing my build doesn't seem all that important, but if I start running with him in groups I would like to at least pull my own weight, and it seems energy isn't looked at all to fondly in teams so any help I could get would be much appreciated. -
How much does it cost to put one of these builds together? This Mind/Kin is my first Blue-side toon so I don't have anything to work with. I don't have much infamy on red-side either. However, I did just read

I'm returning to the game and decided to roll my first Hero character, tonight I was running MA to get tickets to buy some DOs. This morning it worked like a champ, but I tried running the same mission later tonight and it was acting very odd. Powers seemed to lag very badly and the mob movement was very jerky. Outside of MA everything seemed fine.
Is this a normal problem to have sometimes inside of MA, or did I just catch it at a bad time? The MA seems pretty handy if you have no infamy to buy the more expensive enhancements, but if this is a normal thing I think I'll have to find a different way to build up some infamy...or whatever its called on the Hero side.

Thank you for the advice, that's exactly what I ended up doing. My buddy loves the Ice/Kin I have on red-side, so he asked if kin was possible. So far I really like mind. The big draw for me to empathy was the fact that I had never played it before. I think hes planing to roll up a Demon/Dark when the expansion hits and take him blue-side. So I'm going to level this guy up to 20 and then try Mind/Emp on a alt.
I have never rolled a blue-side before, but I have to say its pretty fun (well aside from not having any infamy). Thanks for taking the time to reply to this thread I appreciate it.
Edit:How is the mind/psy dom? I've never had a chance to get very far with a dominator.
Mind primary is a ton of fun I don't know how I missed it for so long! -
I have just returned to the game, and I am totally new to blue side, so I thought I would come to the forums for some advice. My friend plans to return for the expansion, and plans to roll some sort of demon summoning. While looking at the possible characters I could roll to go with his MM I came across the idea of a Mind/Emp.
The problem is that I know absolutely nothing about controllers, the mind power-set, empathy, or the blue side patron power pools (leaning toward Primal mastery). I have never played a dominator either so my experience is very limited. I read a few guides from i11-12 that covered mind and some that covered empathy, but it was hard to get a good idea of how they would work together. I rolled one up and am currently leveling it, but I don't want to get very far into it so as to not ruin my experience with leveling it up with my friend.
I messed around with the build for quite awhile in Mids, and to me it seems like a very tight build, at least, if I am to believe what others say are the must have powers. I would really appreciate it if someone with some experience with this combo or even these power-sets in general could give me a few pointers. It seems like it would be strong, but even if its not the greatest it fits the type of character I want to make. The closest thing to empathy I have experience with is a Energy/Thermal on red-side.
