I tried waiting, a whole lot of nothing happened :S I noticed while I was in the task manager that it was taking up 133,000K of memory...that can't be right, can it?

I've tried booting it up with absolutely no background software running as well as uninstalling symantec, and still no luck I can't really upgrade since I'm using a laptop and would rather not mess around with it, the case is already a little cracked. It looks like I might just be out of luck

I downloaded the game right from this site, so Steam shouldn't be involved.

Safe mode didn't work, either did the tweaking

I've run guild wars on this laptop too, and run a CoH beta on my old computer which was worse off graphics-wise.

I just bought and downloaded CoH/CoV from the main site and upon trying to open it for the first time all I get is a black screen with the hourglass and my start bar showing along the bottom. If I do a ctrl-alt-del it tells me that the program is not responding. Is there a known fix to this? I'm hoping I didn't just waste a bunch of money on a game I can't even play :S

I used to play WoW on this same laptop, so I should be able to handle the graphics, since the requirements are pretty similar I think.
