  1. Did I miss something? Why can't you follow in Atlas Park anymore? Well, you can for a few feet.... but then the followee disappears and goes grey in the team list.

I'm getting old. Too much to keep up with.

    Thanks!
  2. Earthquake in Virginia, hurricane Irene trashing everything that comes in her path, and now CoH is down?! What's next?

    It's doom I say!!! DOOMMMMMM...

I am prepared for the locusts and famine that are sure to follow.

And the rain of frogs. At least, I think I'm ready for a rain of frogs, but how can one be absolutely certain you are prepared for that?

(in this post i am in no way minimizing the tragedy of Irene.)
  3. I am having this exact same problem. (one of many, might I add, but for this thread I'll stick to this one.)

Re-installed on my notebook - 3 times, trying different graphics choices at the screen when it says you can use the 'ultra' settings. All to no avail, when I click on the graphics tab it locks up, and I have to use the task manager to quit the program. So I logged on with my desktop, and re-set the graphics lower. But when I log back in with my notebook, they're still set high and lock up when I hit the graphics tab (however I have no trouble clicking all the other tabs).

If I start in safe mode, will it keep those settings? And, if so, how does one start in safe mode?
  4. Bravo macskull.

I agree with your entire post and I applaud you.

    Here’s my story:

I used to play for at least 5 hours a day (those were days when I was working - on my days off…. well, I won’t say how many hours I played on my days off). I had a wonderful group of friends I played with every day. We loved the game and enjoyed our friendships. After a few years many of my friends started PVPing. It wasn’t really my thing, but I did it none the less and had a good time doing it even though I wasn’t very good. I got killed all the time, ganked, and picked on constantly - and I should have been. It didn’t bother me that that was going on. I hadn’t put the time and effort into it others had. They should have been kicking my butt. And if I took, lets say, an emp in there, I didn’t expect her to be able to take out anyone, I expected to be buffing and healing (between my trips to the hospital).

    Then i13 came along. Wham!

Everyone hated it. With a passion. The changes made no sense and rendered builds useless in PVP. What people had spent years honing were destroyed in an instant. People’s time, effort, research, practice, practice, practice now meant nothing. And for what? So that people who whined about getting ganked would stop whining? PvP (as it was) took time, effort, research and practice, practice, practice to gain the skill required to do it well. Post i13 tanks don’t tank, blasters don’t blast, healers don’t heal and controllers don’t control. This ‘making everyone equal’ thing the dev’s have done makes no sense. Archetypes are not equal and shouldn’t behave like they are. Travel suppression? Heal decay? Sigh. But I digress….

Everyone hated it. My friends hated it. I hated it (and I suck at PvP). My friends left the game. Cancelled their accounts - gone. I stayed. I tried to believe the dev’s had a reason for all this, as they stated there was. I’m still waiting. I’m tired of waiting. I log in once a month or so (with my 2 accounts) to pay the base rent and to fiddle with the base, and that’s about it.

I won’t be renewing my subscription when it comes due. And I’m sad about that. I loved this game and have a lot of time invested in it. I see changes being made, and some of them look wonderful, but they can’t make up for what has been taken away - not just the PvP changes, but the good friends who won’t return because of these changes.

I’ve waited devs. I’ve waited here to here the reasons for these changes. I think I’ve waited long enough. I14 had some great changes to it, and i15 looks the same (although I have to admit I really know very little about them - haven’t had the interest to look much) and it’s my belief that had i13 not happened this game would be golden.

(by the way - have people been flocking to the PvP zones since i13?)

    Fire / Kin

    [ QUOTE ]
Fire/Kins are mainly used for farming so I don't know why you would be making one not for farming

    [/ QUOTE ]

They are? You don't? Maybe people would make one because because they want to play one? I love my fire/kin. I made her because I'm a big fan of trollers, and of kinetics, and I didn't make her for farming. I have a well rounded troller who does very well with all missions.

To the OP, don't let people make you think they're only good for farming. Built right they are highly effective and really fun in every situation.

Tho this is an i11 guide it's fabulous, and I would highly recommend it.
  6. I deleted a char on Pinnacle to reroll a new one. When I deleted her the slot became unavailable.

    Looking forward to the fix.
    :-)
  7. I love the new zone, and the TF as well. Done it twice now, one success one failure.

On the successful run we had no tank. I was on with my ill/emp (light on the emp) a MM, a fire/kin, 2 scrappers and a blaster. We could not separate the Nictus away from Romi, so we just went to town on Romi and killed him 3 times. Each time he died one of the Nictus died as well.

I don’t mind it being difficult, what’s the fun in doing something that has absolutely no chance of failure?

And very happy with the other mishes too.

Well done and thank you devs.
