I *highly* recommend reading the first post in this forum. Very good, very accurate information and the pictures are priceless. Check Vidiotmaps too for the spawn points - though you can find them on your own with a little looking in the places IanTheM1 tells you.
I've played for 2 years and 4 months with my only lv 50 toon, a blaster, and I got the badge tonight 'cuz I'm a badge... hoarder. I got curious and went looking for him off and on today.
Things I noticed:
1) First off - it's true. There is NO way for a hero to prevent the spawn from ever happening. There is also no way to forcibly trigger the spawn so that it does happen.
Well... not exactly. Since there's three spawn points I'm guessing there's a limit of 3 Paladins in the zone at one time. Maybe, maybe not. But if you down one, that opens up a GM potential in the zone.
2) Paladins tend to get stuck close to the Galaxy gate in KR, about 350 yds south of it. My opinion is that they migrate there on purpose. This morning there were two Paladins roaming there. This evening, there was one there. I don't know if it was one of the same ones from this morning. I didn't check the serial number.
3) I watched Clocks spawn at Paladin spawn points and immediately start running. Where the heck were they going? I followed them, literally as in +follow, to a Paladin's location. Which was near the Galaxy gate up in north KR.
So while kicking it solo around that area near the Galaxy gate, I killed Paladin. Sort of.
Then I checked sites.
Then I scrambed to find a team, because construction must have started at one site while I was checking the other two. Luckily I found one person willing to take the star and build up a team while I held down the regeneration/construction of Paladin.
The linchpin to this? Put 1) and 2) together. I was solo and wanted to get construction started on a new Paladin. I started sniping Paladin to lead it where I wanted it to go. Which was to his death so I could get a new spawn. I was near the Galaxy gate so I led him there.
